Why Alison Abbott chose Tamarindo

Villa Verde II is located in nice quiet area of town away from the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo. But the great thing is the town of Tamarindo and the beach is only a 5 minute walk to get to. Villa Verde is gated and has 24hr security so it is a safe place to stay as well. The community inside Villa Verde II is fantastic. A very children and pet friendly environment.

Clean, convenient, and comfortable - Perfect laid-back condo

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed in Villa Verde II three times, but this was my first time in this condo. First of all, the complex is great. Pool is always clean, neighbors are friendly, no noise at night, and 24/7 guards/security, who are always very nice and helpful.

The condo is inviting and matches the feel we come to Tamarindo for - casual, relaxing, nothing over the top, but has everything and is perfect for a beach vacation. The condo clean when we arrived, all utilities provided worked well (I especially needed the washer and dryer machine when my luggage got delayed due to the storm in the northeast US...thank goodness for that!), beds are comfortable.

Ali was on top of communication with us to check when we arrived and to make sure we had everything we needed - always responsive and helpful.

Overall, a wonderful stay and vacation for the three of us - sister, brother, and friend - all adults in our 30s, and regular visitors to Tamarindo. This is a great place to stay.

Perfect Location - Great Value!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say anything bad about this condo. Great value and definitely worth it. The location was great – both close to the beach and the town for some great restaurants and shopping. Also close was the Saturday morning market by the beach. Great place to purchase your fresh fruits and vegetables. The condo was clean with a fully stocked kitchen for all your cooking needs. Also available for use was the great side deck with patio furniture and barbeque along with the boogie boards for the beach. The condo complex has not only 1 but 2 great pools to enjoy a cool dip and relax around after your day at the beach. Ali was very helpful and went above and beyond for any help and assistance we required. I would definitely rent this condo in the future and hope to be back soon. G.

find another property

Unfortunately, we had several issues with this unit. Yes, the price is very reasonable, but it was little compensation for the unit itself. We're not high-need, high-expectation people, and we have stayed in a variety of different spots all over Costa Rica. This is the worst VRBO experience we've had. If you're looking to stay around Tamarindo, keep looking! Sorry to be negative, but this property needs better management.

Wedding Anniversary Trip

  • 5 of 5

Great experience! This is an excellent and well located condominium, close to the city center of Tamarindo. My wife and I visited for 5 days for our 10 year wedding anniversary and had a fantastic stay! Brian and the staff at the condo were extremely helpful and present. We rented a car, which we quickly found out was unnecessary. Everything is well within walking distance, including the beach and the main surf areas. You can easily stay here and rent a board for around 10 bucks a day and not have to lug it around. The condo has good wi-fi and Tamarindo in general has wi-fi everywhere you go. There are two balcony's and an elegant staircase to the second floor bedrooms, which make it an excellent stay for couples.

Cons: The only downside would be for very small children or elderly. The staircase is pretty steep, but if you have kids that are fine with stairs you should be fine. Overall, we had a dream vacation in this condo and we will visit again!

Surf vacation with family

  • 4 of 5

We came for three weeks to Costa Rica. I think the condo is situated in a perfect location. If traveling with a family. You have everything you need close by. Multiple mini markets. All kinds of different restaurants. If traveling with a child there are multiple surf camps ,horse back riding ,mini golf plenty to do to keep them busy. My daughter was able to play with the local kids and get the experience of there daily life and practice her Spanish. My husband surfed Avellans, Playa Langosta ,Tamarindo ,Playa Negra and if you rent a car Marbella and Nosara. So also plenty to keep him happy. Myself restaurants ,shopping , pool lounging, walking on the beach. Farmers market on Saturday walking distance. Life was good. Being a third world country you will have to expect the unexpected . Water shortage due to a draught that is affecting many countries including California not just this area. Power outage. So be adventures on those days and take a day trip somewhere😉. The owner was vey accommodating if a problem came up it was resolved as soon as possible. The condo was very clean and comfortable. Our time here went really fast looking forward in coming back again.

Excellent property and owner.

  • 5 of 5

Definitely worth it!!! This property is in a small condo development just a 5 minute walk (or 2 minute drive) to Tamarindo beach.

There are two small pools for property owners and guests.

It seems as if most of the units are owner/occupied or rented by locals. It is not a high traffic development, but close enough to the action if you so desire. Walking distance to food, beach, shops, etc.

We (2 adults and 2 children [8 & 10]) stayed at the property over spring break and the following week and couldn't be happier with our decision.

Costa Rica is a developing country. Lacking water pressure and the occasional sewer smell is expected in most privately owned buildings/homes. Especially in the dry season. The owner took the initiative to install a holding tank and pump which helps with this, but once again... Costa Rica is Costa Rica. Not Canada or the States.

As far as lighting, we had no problem in the unit or on the property. Security made sure our lights were turned on at dusk. As far as electrical, it's Costa Rica. Temporary power outages are not that uncommon. Keep a few candles laying around (on hand in the unit) and extra ice to keep the fridge cold.

The owner was more than accommodating. The body boards and snorkeling equipment was very handy. (We actually inadvertently donated an additional snorkeling mask for future guests to use!) Bryan (the owner) was readily available for text message responses for any questions we had and had a few suggestions for our entertainment.

It was a pleasure staying there and we look forward to our next trip down.

Villa Verde II is just a 5 minute walk to the beach and into town where there are plenty of activities to do. If there is any tours or trips that you would like to book I can suggest a great tour company that will accommodate any of your needs.
