About Daniela Bisogni

Ciao, I'm Daniela.I'm from Rome.

My husband and I decided to move from the beautiful but chaotic centre of Rome to Tuscany fifteen years ago because we wanted to live a better life in a quieter city. So we chose Lucca for its history and its ideal position ,being close to the sea, the mountanis, to Florence and Pisa. Our choice proved really successful. In The Mood for Lucca was our last and most loved residence in Lucca.

Last year we went back to Rome, due to family reasons, so now we have decided to rent it as a holiday lettings to people wishing to discover the beauty and magic of Lucca as we did.

Daniela Bisogni purchased this apartment in 2008

Why Daniela Bisogni chose Lucca Province

Because it has the comfort of a true home.It is spacious and located in the very heart of Lucca Historic centre but, at the same time,it is hidden inside a very quiet courtyard.Shops, restaurants and sightseeing are on your doorsteps. It transmits the colors and the atmosphere of Tuscany

What makes this apartment unique

Size and space.Location.Silence.Colors. Atmosphere.Quality of furniture.

Stellar accommodations and hospitality

  • 5 of 5

Over the past twelve years I have been fortunate enough to visit Italy over a dozen times. This apartment and our time in Lucca was special. I would rank the living experience and the hospitality of the owner as the keys to one of my most memorable times in Italy. The location was perfect, half way between the train station and a free car park right outside the town gates. I was traveling with a group of four and I speak for everyone when I say that we all hope to return. We spent ten days in the apartment which provided space and every comfort.

. Lucca has a vibrant restaurant scene and excellent meals can be had just steps from the apartment doors. For our group, with very different interests and ideas about how time in Italy should be spent, there were no bad choices about where to go. We spent time in churches, museums, shops, vegetable markets, biking and walking the wall, watching soccer games on a big screen in one of open piazzas, etc. The shopping is excellent!

Lucca was the hub for travel to Piza, Cinque Terre, Florence, and even a night in Venice. Because of the short fifteen minute walk to the train station, with frequent trains traveling in all directions, Lucca gave everyone individual independence. It was a relief to return by train at the end of a long day to the cool, quiet home. We cooked in or stepped downstairs for a bite to eat.

This property is a gem. The comfort that we all felt there translated into a rare experience. I cannot promise that everyone will have what we had for those ten days, but many of the pieces are in place because of a warm and hospitable owner and an amazing town. If you can climb two flights of stairs to open the door, you will not regret it.

Lovely apartment

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five stayed in Daniela's apartment in Lucca for a week. It is a lovely and well appointed apartment and is described well on her site. There was plenty of room for us and an additional bonus of the loft where you could watch TV or play video games. The place was central to everything, restaurants, shops, churches, trains and buses, even a grocery store which was next door. Lucca is also a perfect spot to stay as a home base and travel to other areas. We found that we didn't need a car because the trains were so convenient therefore we cancelled our rental car and used public transportation for day trips. The apartment was clean and decorated nicely and was very comfortable. It included air conditioning, washer, dryer and a dish washer. The kitchen was very well stocked and we had a nice surprise of fresh fruit and a bottle of Proseca. Daniela met us in Rome where she lives because she couldn't greet us when we arrived in Lucca to give us very useful information for Rome and Lucca. She was always available to answer any questions and to give travel tips before and during our stay. Because she couldn't be there she had her friend Allison greet us and show us the apartment and give us important information.

One thing renters should be aware of is that the apartment is on the second floor with the lowest level being the ground floor, with many steps and no lift. This was not a problem for us as we had two strong men to carry the luggage up but it could be an issue for others.

I would definitely recommend this apartment and we thank Daniela for her hospitality.

Owner's Response: Dear Madelyn, , thank you so much for your lovely review. It has been very nice to have you and your lovely family as our guest in Lucca. I'm sorry for the 32 steps to climb to reach my flat we are in a 18th century building and an elevator would have spoiled the beauty of the antique stairs...and remember that Locca is a medieval city so elevators are rare here :-)! Hope to see you again! Ciao from Lucca<1 Daniela :-))

Delightful Lucca apartment

  • 5 of 5

Daniela's split-level apartment is absolutely beautiful, with lovely and tasteful antique furniture and decor. It is extremely well-maintained. For those who enjoy cooking, the kitchen is excellent. The apartment's location is highly practical as well, only a few steps away from the center of Lucca and Piazza San Michele. The Carrefour grocery store next door (which is one of the few grocery stores open on Sundays) is extremely convenient. It's only a short walk to the city walls and the train station. This is also a great apartment in hot weather, since it has several sky lights that open to bring in fresh breezes and it also has AC. Daniela is very attentive and helpful; she was extremely welcoming to us and we truly enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Apartment in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Daniella's apartment was beautiful and it made us feel like we were actually living in Lucca and not just visiting. The location was perfect! We could walk to everything in Lucca and we were close to restaurants, cafes, fruit markets and the grocery store. Daniella was there when we arrived with a bottle of wine and fruit for us. She explained everything we needed to know to have a wonderful vacation in Lucca. She was also available by phone to answer any questions that we had and to make reservations for us. Even though it rained almost every day that we were there, we still had a fantastic time enjoying Lucca's charm and traveling to Florence and Cinque Terre. It's a great city to stay in to enjoy Tuscany. You can travel to most surrounding areas by train. I highly recommend Daniella's apartment and I hope that we can go back there again soon!

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently spent three weeks at this fabulous apartment. It is a wonderful place, extremely comfortable, well-equipped, and in a prime location. Because this used to be Daniela's home, it felt much more like staying in the home of a good friend rather than at a generic vacation rental. The highlights were Daniela's guide to Lucca - the stores, restaurants, bakeries, bars, etc. The guide is priceless! Best of all was getting to know Daniela, she is an utterly delightful person and she was extremely helpful before, during, and even after (we are still in Lucca - her place was booked already or we would have stayed longer) our stay. And yet, she was unobtrusive - seeking to be helpful and nothing more. Delightful!
