Great place in the mountains! Very peaceful and private.
We just got back from this beautiful place and had a great time! It was nice to come back after a long day and relax in the hot tub. The view is nice and it's very relaxing to sit outside and watch the wildlife from the deck.
The grill on the deck works nice. We grilled on Easter and it was beautiful to eat outside. However, the policy says that if you run out of propane or if the container is empty, it is your responsibility to fill it if you need more. Thankfully there was enough for our grilling needs but it may be getting low. The table and chairs outside could really use a good powerwashing. We had to sit on towels even after cleaning off the chairs because they were so dirty.
The kitchen has just about everything you need, including a crockpot. I would recommend bringing your own can opener, neither the manual nor the electric one worked. I premeasured all our ingredients before leaving which was a very good thing because I didn't see any measuring cups for dry ingredients. So bring your own. There are plenty of baking dishes and small (1 qt.) cooking pots which is all we needed. There is also a large stockpot for boiling water or for soup/chili. Bring extra paper towel.
There are plenty of bath towels and they provide a couple bars of hand soap which is all we needed. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner and extra tp. We also brought our own beach towels to use after the hot tub so we weren't using up bath towels.
The beds are so comfortable. We all slept well after busy days of hiking and shopping. The living room is cozy and great for kicking your feet up with a movie or a book. Our daughters brought some movies they wanted to watch one night but we had to hook up the DVD player to the TV. Strange that it wasn't already connected, but it wasn't a big deal. The fireplace works great and really heats up the entire place. They have it turned on for use from October-April. We didn't really need it for warmth but it just added a bit of coziness a couple nights. It's an electric one, just a turn of the dial and it's on a timer for up to an hour. Then just reset it or enjoy the remaining warmth.
The place is clean and comfortable, but did have a weird smell every time we walked in. Not bad.. just different.
I would highly recommend this cabin for anyone wanting to enjoy some peace in the smokies but still wants to be close to activities and town. The drive up is tricky. Just do a 3-point turn at the sharp turn in the road. HTH 😊
We are glad you enjoyed your stay. I will purchase a can opener and some measuring cups. Thank you for the feed back.
We will be back!
This cabin was perfect for us. It could be updated but it was exactly what we wanted. Very cozy and the beds were so comfortable!!
We are glad you enjoyed our home.
We Really liked the cabin. It’s nothing fancy but really nice! Loved coming in after a long day and relaxing in front of the fireplace watching tv! It was very roomy! Only thing I didn’t care for was the road and driveway to get to the cabin. We have a F250 truck so it was very hard to make those sharp turns. But we figured it out. I’m glad we had a 4 wheel drive vehicle though! It was pretty steep road! But other then that, it was worth the stay!
We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
We do recommend 4 wheel drive for this property, it is not necessary but helpful.
Overall nice and secluded few little updates could be done but otherwise very nice!
Very nice and spacious cabin. Few updates would make people's stay a little more impressive. Grill could be either replaced or maintenance done. No remote to DVD player that we could find. Need 1 large frying pan would have made cooking much easier. And for future renters need to advise the potential for needing 4wd or at least vehicle that is not low to the ground. Thankful we brought the truck and not the car! Very nice for the rental price. Enjoyed our stay very much.
We have put a new grill there. I will get a large fryer pan. And yes we do recommend 4 wheel drive for this location.
Beautiful cabin. Comfortable beds.
The drive up and down the mountain was nerve-wracking. No outside light. The cabin was spacious and comfortable but pool cues had no tips on them. There was a constant noise coming from the mechanical room under the left bedroom which kept our son up, along with a constant beeping that was irritating and disturbed our sleep. When we messaged Tina about it, her reply was it could be a low or loose battery in the door lock system; however sending someone to fix it was never offered. Therefore, we didn’t know if we would get locked out if the battery did die. Other than these issues, we had a pleasant stay.
I will have maintenance check the outside light, and have housekeeping replace the tips on the pool sticks. I did send maintenance to check the beeping noise and he said he fixed the batteries in the door lock.
Thank you for staying at Valley View
Enjoyed cabin. The driveway was way to rough for my car. You need a high vehicle and 4-wheel drive.
Glad you enjoyed the cabin.
