Private apartment (562 sf) downstairs from family on 23 acres, separate bedroom with queen bed, walk-in closet, dresser, full kitchen with breakfast and dining table, bathroom with radiant floor heat, quiet cork flooring, wifi, and TV/DVD. We are right next to hiking/biking/running trails which connect to the valley trail system. We live in a peaceful rural setting with views of town and mountains. If you are interested in outdoor activities in an educated mountain town, Bozeman in southwest Montana is ideal. We are ten minutes from town, twenty minutes from our local downhill ski area and from an Olympic-class cross-country course as well as one hour from Big Sky and Moonlight Basin Ski Resorts. We encourage you to visit our first national park, Yellowstone, filled with geysers, bison, wolves and grizzly bears. It is truly spectacular. Note that this is a smoke-free property--due to fire laws and the health of all of our guests, no smoking is allowed anywhere on the property. Thank you for your understanding.
We are two professionals who enjoy travel and outdoor activity. We have traveled extensively in Asia and some in Europe, Mexico, and the South Pacific. One or both of us enjoy rock and ice climbing, back-country and downhill skiing, and backpacking in wilderness areas. We are also love to read and go to local theater and performing arts events. We have two grown daughters who live in California and come home to visit when they can. We also have a very friendly 2 year old golden retriever.
Pamela Poon purchased this apartment in 1998
We chose this property because we enjoy the peace of a rural mountain life. The air is clear, red-tail hawks, great-horned owls and coyotes often sing us to sleep. We see snowshoe hares dance in the winter-and the occasional black bear comes by in the fall!
We are surrounded by more than 1000 acres of undeveloped land, but are close to town for work and entertainment. The mountain views from our house are splendid, the lights of town are terrific at night.
For being a white snowy December, I was so warm and pleased with my little apartment and the hospitality given. Thank you so much Pam for the accommodation.
We really enjoyed our stay we saw a lot of wildlife a Black bear,Turkeys,Deer and two nice bucks 15yds from my car the day we left.Pamala was very nice and helpful,Overall a quite and well furnished apt.
This apartment in Big Gulch was just what we needed. It sits in a valley above Bozeman with just a few minutes to town. I couldn't believe the description, but hoped it would be what was advertised. Our daughter iives in Bozeman and we have stayed in town...in hotels, in a small house a few blocks from Main, but we wanted something nearer to the mountains. The owners are very special people, and the apartment was fully
furnished for two....comfortable bed, adequate TV (4 channels but one for the Olympics was all we needed)
Kitchen had everything we needed, and the bathroom was large and there was even a washer/dryer.
We hope to schedule again....a gravel road takes you to the final location, so we are planning to arrive either
late spring or early fall...once again. Perfect for those who love Montana...and wish to get out of the hustle
for awhile. There are steps down to the apartment, but are well lighted for evening...and there is a porch
one can sit outside with a small table and chairs....Such a beautiful view to town...You will enjoy walking the

We had a lovely stay at this cozy apartment in what feels like "out in the country" but is really only a few miles from town. Pam contacted us beforehand to inform us of construction work to be done upstairs in their living area during our visit. We had the option to cancel our reservation but opted to stay since we knew we would be busy during our visit and not in the apartment during the day time. The apartment is as listed and very comfortable. The location is pure heaven; so quite and still in the night (except when there is a bear roaming around) and very convenient to town. Pam and Robin are incredibly nice and helpful with providing recommendations for whatever you have in mind. Absolutely loved their dog and the dog they were dog-sitting. We are moving to Bozeman next year and hope to see them around town!
The location of this place is perfect. The views are incredible. Just outside of town, yet 10-15 min to anywhere in town. Just the right size and everything you need for you and a significant other. Well maintained, equipped and clean. Several restaurants and brew houses in town. The stockyard calfe' was just down the road and was the best breakfast we'd had in a long time. Pam and Robin were super friendly and gracious hosts. The only thing I would improve upon, is upgrading the bed. Thanks for letting us stay, we did enjoy it and will be back.
We spent five nights at the Big Gulch Apartment and were definitely glad we made this our choice while we were in the area for our son's wedding! We had several late nights and early mornings and it was so nice to get back to a quiet, restful place when we did have short periods of downtime. The sunsets off the deck were beautiful and we saw several deer and other wildlife off the deck. Although the apartment is "out of town" it is a quick drive to restaurants, grocery stores, shopping areas, etc. Even going up to the local reservoir, out to the airport and to the towns of Belgrade and Gallatin Gateway are easy drives.
Robin and Pam are extremely nice people although we only got to visit with them in person for a few minutes. During the booking process, Pam was very responsive to some questions we asked and we never had any issues at all with access to the property or noise.
We will definitely consider staying at the Big Gulch Apartment again if the need arises for us to secure accommodations while in the Bozeman area!
Only two miles from downtown, 90 minutes from Yellowstone National Park, 20 minutes from Bridger Bowl and Bohart Ranch (downhill and xc ski) and one hour from Big Sky-Moonlight Basin Ski Resorts. Fifteen minutes from Montana State University and the Museum of the Rockies.
