Escape to the beauty, adventure and serenity of Idyllwild. Our newly decorated studio accommodates two with a complete kitchen, Cable TV, wi-fi, a romantic fireplace heater and its own private entry. We have a pack and play crib in the studio if you have an infant. You also have access to a washer and dryer.
Enjoy meals or a drink your private patio, our expansive view deck or our new forest deck.
The view deck and forest deck both have a barbecue for your use. The 'back 40', our backyard, is also available for use and has an infant tree swing.
Idyllwild has been designated as one of America's 100 Best Art Towns. Our cabin is in a quiet beautiful residential area, close to hiking, biking, restaurants, shops, and the many cultural and art events. You are also less than an hour's drive from the desert and Palm Springs.
We will be there when you arrive, ready to help plan your stay and assist you as needed. We'd like to invite you up on the deck in the evening to enjoy a glass of wine, beautiful sunsets and conversation.
When we're in Idyllwild, we feel at home. People are friendly and the pace is easy-going. Our neighborhood, in the Upper Fern Valley area, is just over a mile to the village with its outstanding restaurants, antique shops and many unique art galleries. Music abounds 'on the hill', at restaurants, our local wine bar and numerous special events like Jazz in the Pines in August. The Idyllwild School of the Arts provides multiple artistic performances throughout the year. Then there's the Rustic Theater if you want to take in a movie.
Natural beauty surrounds you in Idyllwild. Hiking, biking, climbing and winter sports (when there's snow!) are all popular activities. Mt. San Jacinto, Lily Rock, Devil's Slide, Suicide Rock, Dark Canyon, Marion Peak, Lake Fulmor, Lake Hemet and much more await your exploration! We can recommend some of our favorites if you like.
Our cabin has lots of level, easy access parking and is on a regularly plowed road, so snow is not a major problem.

We are avid travelers and hikers. I am retired and Corinne is a holistic health practitioner, specialing in massage, energy work and homeopathy. Our most recent adventure was a two week trip to Turkey. Our biggest recent adventure was completing the 500 mile Camino de Santiago in Spain. We live in San Diego but spend every possible moment we can in Idyllwild.
Bob Greenamyer purchased this studio in 2014
We looked at several properties, but when I saw this one, I knew it was 'it'. It was the right size for our family and the studio was an added bonus. When I called Corinne from the view deck, I said, ' I think I found our future home!' And we had. We have had great fun fixing it up adding dual pane windows, a forced air heating unit, repainted deck, refurbished fireplace and much more. I have a lot of future projects in mind, but for now we are very happy on 'the hill'.
We are only two hours away from 'Idy' so it's easy to jump in the car and take the beautiful drive up the hill. When I make the big turn after the Idyllwild town sign and I see Lily Rock, I let out a big sigh and feel like I'm home. The people in Idyllwild are very friendly. We've found each has a unique story to share. We're surrounded by artists, musicians and talented people of all kinds. We look forward to the day when we can become full time 'hill folk'.
Neat and clean and welcoming
It's a cozy, comfortable studio with all the amenities I expected.
Bob and Corrine were very welcoming, and their studio is well-equipped. The "back 40" was perfect for our small dogs, the forest deck is fantastic, and the full kitchen is a great touch, particularly for this price point! This is definitely a good place for a single or a couple (with or without a small child) who are going to get out and about, hiking, browsing and dining in town. Even on hot days (mid-80s) the studio never warmed up too much given that the evening temperatures were in the 50s and the room is under the main house. We left the windows open at night and enjoyed the cool, quiet air.
Great value here, and a good location with a very short drive to town, also (long) walkable if you're willing to negotiate the hills on the way back. About a 20-minute easy pace walk or couple-minute drive to the south trailhead for the Ernie Maxwell trail, which was a great easy hike for us with our two small dogs as well.
Our only complaint would be the seating arrangement in the studio - the smallish TV is tough to see from bed if that's your thing, and the chair and loveseat arrangement isn't the most comfortable. These are very minor, nitpicky comments, because if you're looking for a pet-friendly place to rest your head, and get out and about, you're going to be hard-pressed to find a better value.
Thank you so much for an amazing weekend. Our stay with you truly made our weekend away wonderful.
Thank you for being great hosts. We loved your mountain getaway and the property was so beautiful and peaceful.
We felt like we were at home and so comfortable. We were able to relax and enjoy the town we fell in love with years ago.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and you were so wonderful and accomodating.
You will definitely see us again soon and can't wait to refer you to others who want a fantastic place to stay where you are felt so welcomed and taken care of.
Can't wait to come back soon!
Casa de los Cedros is very comfortable with all of the necessary amenities. It is perfectly situated in a lovely neighborhood with gorgeous, tall trees towering overhead. I enjoyed the peace and quiet, relaxing on the deck with a good book and listening to the birds and squirrels enjoying themselves. It's very close to downtown Idyllwild which made running in to town very convenient. Bob and Corinne and the perfect hosts, very friendly and accommodating. I look forward to visiting again in the future!
The best I've had of 5 visits to idylwild. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and friendly.
If you like your mountain hiking, biking and climbing adventures coupled with a thriving arts community, you will love Idyllwild. Music, theatre and visual arts abound in 'One of America's top 100 arts towns'!
In August, Jazz lovers from across the country come for Jazz In The Pines, located at Idyllwild Arts School. Throughout the year local organizations host events ranging from pancake breakfasts at Town Hall, American Legion barbecues, December's Tree Lighting Ceremony and Rotary Club Harvest Festival. the Idyllwild Film Festival in January, the Arts Alliance's Annual Art Festival & Wine Walk , the American Legion's horseshoe tournament and the free Thursday Night Summer Concert Series at the Idyllwild Community Center.
The Idyllwild History Museum has a myriad of artifacts, photos, and documents that tell the story of Idyllwild and the surrounding San Jacinto Mountain area. Marilyn Monroe, Elvis and other stars spent time in Idyllwild! We hope you will too!
