About the property

Available for 1-3 night stays on Fridays thru Monday and some weeklong stays

Escape to the beauty, adventure and serenity of Idyllwild. Our newly decorated studio accommodates two with a complete kitchen, Cable TV, wi-fi, a romantic fireplace heater and its own private entry. We have a pack and play crib in the studio if you have an infant. You also have access to a washer and dryer.

Enjoy meals or a drink your private patio, our expansive view deck or our new forest deck.

The view deck and forest deck both have a barbecue for your use. The 'back 40', our backyard, is also available for use and has an infant tree swing.

Idyllwild has been designated as one of America's 100 Best Art Towns. Our cabin is in a quiet beautiful residential area, close to hiking, biking, restaurants, shops, and the many cultural and art events. You are also less than an hour's drive from the desert and Palm Springs.

We will be there when you arrive, ready to help plan your stay and assist you as needed. We'd like to invite you up on the deck in the evening to enjoy a glass of wine, beautiful sunsets and conversation.

When we're in Idyllwild, we feel at home. People are friendly and the pace is easy-going. Our neighborhood, in the Upper Fern Valley area, is just over a mile to the village with its outstanding restaurants, antique shops and many unique art galleries. Music abounds 'on the hill', at restaurants, our local wine bar and numerous special events like Jazz in the Pines in August. The Idyllwild School of the Arts provides multiple artistic performances throughout the year. Then there's the Rustic Theater if you want to take in a movie.

Natural beauty surrounds you in Idyllwild. Hiking, biking, climbing and winter sports (when there's snow!) are all popular activities. Mt. San Jacinto, Lily Rock, Devil's Slide, Suicide Rock, Dark Canyon, Marion Peak, Lake Fulmor, Lake Hemet and much more await your exploration! We can recommend some of our favorites if you like.

Our cabin has lots of level, easy access parking and is on a regularly plowed road, so snow is not a major problem.

About Bob Greenamyer

We are avid travelers and hikers. I am retired and Corinne is a holistic health practitioner, specialing in massage, energy work and homeopathy. Our most recent adventure was a two week trip to Turkey. Our biggest recent adventure was completing the 500 mile Camino de Santiago in Spain. We live in San Diego but spend every possible moment we can in Idyllwild.

Bob Greenamyer purchased this studio in 2014

Why Bob Greenamyer chose Idyllwild

We looked at several properties, but when I saw this one, I knew it was 'it'. It was the right size for our family and the studio was an added bonus. When I called Corinne from the view deck, I said, ' I think I found our future home!' And we had. We have had great fun fixing it up adding dual pane windows, a forced air heating unit, repainted deck, refurbished fireplace and much more. I have a lot of future projects in mind, but for now we are very happy on 'the hill'.

What makes this studio unique

We are only two hours away from 'Idy' so it's easy to jump in the car and take the beautiful drive up the hill. When I make the big turn after the Idyllwild town sign and I see Lily Rock, I let out a big sigh and feel like I'm home. The people in Idyllwild are very friendly. We've found each has a unique story to share. We're surrounded by artists, musicians and talented people of all kinds. We look forward to the day when we can become full time 'hill folk'.

Quiet, clean, and pleasant place in nice neighborhood above the town.

  • 5 of 5

This is a nice studio beneath the main house with a separate entrance, a suitable kitchenette, plenty of parking, and a covered patio. For guests there's also a pleasant deck surrounded by pines, and a grill we could have used, but did not. The owners, a retired elementary school principal and wholistic health practitioner, are friendly and well-organized. Walking sticks and umbrellas are provided for guests if needed. Walk-in closet. Cable. Shower, no bathtub, which was fine. Good Wi-Fi reception. The location was great for us. This place is about five or ten minutes uphill from the town by car, convenient, but just far enough away to not hear the hub-bub. The owners can make good recommendations about restaurants, events, and local hiking trails. This is about a fifteen minute drive from the Idyllwild Arts Center, which was what brought us here this summer. In the future, we'll be back here just to enjoy this peaceful little place to stay, and the whole Idyllwild vibe.

Owner's Response: Dear Greg and Nancy, Thank you so much for your very kind review. You were perfect guests. Your communication was always timely and clear. Your friendly, engaging personalities made for nice conversations. Thanks for following our clean-up/checkout guidelines to a T. That allows us to not charge cleaning fees and keeps our guests costs down. We do hope you'll join us again in the near future. Idyllwild is beautiful year-round and there's always something to do, even if it's just relaxing and enjoying time away from life's daily stresses. We wish you safe travels and hope you'll tell your friends and family about Casa de Los Cedros as well.

Great place for dogs!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my husband and 2 small dogs over Labor Day weekend. We loved sitting on the deck or in the hammock and watching our dogs roam around the spacious and fenced back yard. It was very quiet and relaxing. The indoor accommodations were great as well. We didn't spend that much time at the cabin, but it had everything we needed when we were there. We come to Idyllwild 1-2 times/year, and this is definitely where we will be staying during future visits!

Charming - Great location

  • 5 of 5

Bob's cabin was just the right size for two people, all the necessary items for comfort, old Idyllwild posters added charm, as did the pine cone sheets, easy in & out w/no key to worry about, OK for those walking w/a cane, no steps.

Looking forward to next year's Jazz in the Pines, but we may need a larger place as friends want to attend now that they have heard about it.

VERY Clean, comfortable, and quiet.

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely awesome! My husband and I booked the "Casa" for two nights in April as a getaway weekend and a quiet place to work on our taxes in the evenings after hiking during the day. If it were warmer outside, we would have thoroughly enjoyed being on the beautiful deck. The studio was sizable, equipped with a full kitchen, full bathroom, and a nice living space. Though there were plenty of great cafes and restaurants just a few minutes drive from the "Casa", we enjoyed preparing our meals in the kitchen. Bob and Corinne were wonderful hosts providing us with maps, restaurant venues, and permits (needed for hiking.) Their instructions were clear and specific as to the preparation of checking out. They were easy to reach via mobile phone if we had questions. We've traveled and stayed at many Home Away; VRBO; and airBnB homes but this little "Casa de los Cedros" along with it's friendly hosts is now one of our favorites and we definitely intend to return.
