About Lieschan Lopuszynski

We are Vashon Islanders who come to the city from time to time. We have two teen boys that keep us busy with theatre, and sports. Pete is a commercial fisherman, halibut and black cod in AK. Lieschan is a personal trainer. We love Seattle and all it's diversity. We are dog lovers to the extreme, this is Digger and Ivy our beloved rescues!

Lieschan Lopuszynski purchased this townhome in 2013

Why Lieschan Lopuszynski chose West Seattle

We chose this property because unlike a lot of the new townhouses in the area you don't feel like you are living in a skinny house. Or as our son said, 'like Harry Potter in the rooms under the stairs.'

What makes this townhome unique

We love that it is right on Fauntleroy so that it is so easy to get to, the back and side yard, which actually count as yard space is quite unique in the city. The 50's affect of this building allows for larger closets, bigger rooms and higher ceiling heights. The gated front patio is also a perfect place to sit on a sunny afternoon and visit the other fine homeowners here.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wonderful Guest, who took the time to post a thoughtful and kind review, that we needed to hear! It was time to fix up some things in our space! Further, Stephanie took the time to be respectful with her words. Her ideas are helpful and the issues she raised are indeed salient as they will make our space better going forward. Stephanie also took the time to discuss these things with me, via text, so I could have a clearer understanding, super cool,, thank you.

As guests they left our place in good order and were great when we talked during their stay. They were also, the first guest we had where we really had to adhere to our arrival/departure time frame, to accommodate a new tenant on their heels. We very much appreciated them communicating with us so we had a wee bit of extra cleaning time!! Thankfully, we were able to get them in early.

Stephanie personifies respect, as delivering challenging news is, oh so much harder , than all things good!!! Thanks for that Stephanie!!

Great hosts, good location but needs some love

  • 3 of 5

We stayed over New Years weekend for 4 nights, with a group of two small families with children ranging in age from 1-7.

Pros--

The hosts were very sweet, great communicators and very accommodating.

The space was good--it handled all of us without feeling cramped.

We have family in West Seattle, so the location was perfect, found it very easy to get downtown to tourist attractions in only 15 minutes or so.

House was clean, had some good extras like coffee filters and sponges and dish soap-- these things aren't always guaranteed in rentals.

Cons--

Wear and tear on couches. The owners left a note upon arrival informing us this had happened, and they tried to cover tears with blankets, but they are severe rips.

Dicey electricity-- if you turn off the bedroom light it kills the wi-fi. Again, something the owners were in communication with us about after we were already in the house. They did offer a simple work around.

Bench seating at tables-- the photo shows chairs and one bench but there are now two small benches, not great seating options for adults.

Odor-- the house has a strong and unique smell to it, I think it may be from curry? Wouldn't bother everyone, but if you are sensitive to smells, it might. It was noticeable in the house still by our 5th day.

All in all, the space worked for us, but I would look for something different next time we stay in Seattle.

Owner's Response: Thank you Lisa for your very thoughtful review and additionally thank you for taking the time to discuss this with me outside the VRBO universe. Your assessment on the "state" of our townhouse is true. In fact, new couches are in our living room, as the current tenant's dog loves to cuddle in the blanket over the tear. So, they don't want them :) ! This is the beginning of our second year as hosts and offering a "dog friendly" space has made "wear and tear" on the living room furniture something we didn't anticipate and we have had little time between bookings to address these things.. A very valid point, however, and the next tenant will enjoy the new furniture! Per your input, we are going to store the 4 chairs that match the table :/..., in the upstairs closets., We felt the chairs made the space feel cluttered, hence the benches, but adding the chair option, thank you! This is such an easy fix! Yea! As for the wonky electricity, this apparently, was a "known" to my husband before. Hence, the spare lamp, and his desire was to "look at it" in his spare time. An electrical puzzle, if you will. Spare time has been, um?? Well, the electrician is on his way, so she should be ship shape in that sense this week! With regards to the odor, I know we discussed, privately, your kiddo's sensitivity to such things. Having a child with a spectrum disorder, I can totally relate to the struggles we would face, as a family, if there were auditory things we could not control on his behalf. I am sorry this came up during your stay, as that has not been an issue in the past. Again, Stephanie, I thank you for being so thoughtful in pointing out some simple fixes to better accommodate folks, and your kindly worded assessment that it was time to gussy things up a bit!! it did start pretty pristine, but she does indeed need a little TLC, and that is happening!! I can only apologize for the odor and the issues it created for your family. We really did think it was a "last night's dinner thing'" from the previous tenant as we cleaned. I am sorry it made your stay less enjoyable. Finally, thank you for your kind words! You all were lovely to have, and I am indeed sorry the space was not perfect for you, but so appreciate how thoughtful and considerate you were in expressing that!! Peace and Blessings to you and your family for 2016, and again Thank You for staying and your kindly considered guidance! Warmly, Lieschan

Comfortable in a good location

  • 5 of 5

I rented this townhouse for 3+ weeks in February. The location is very good, close to both Alaska and Morgan Junction. Easy walk for groceries, food and coffee, and a short drive to Lincoln Park. The pet door was a big bonus for my two dogs, and the backyard was perfect for them. This is on a main road, but was relatively quiet most of the time. The surrounding neighborhood is lovely and has great views from the hills, perfect for dog walks. You do get road noise during peak commute time, as trucks / buses pass by. The house is private and comfortable and the owner is excellent for communication should you need anything at all.

Perfect experience!

I rented this condo for my family's Christmas stay here in Seattle. The condo was in great condition, clean and well appointed. The owner was on top of communication as well as extremely kind and helpful. My family will definitely be booking this place in the future.
