Well built, charming two-story home is right on the water. Interior decor is comfortable and inviting, and layout is great for entertaining or spending family time together. Downstairs offers a separate in-law suite for privacy (1 bedroom with full kitchen and bath), while the upstairs' two bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house and have similar furnishings/ amenities. A well-stocked kitchen is open to the living area. Outdoor showers on decks of both levels are great for coming in from the ocean (kids, salt and sand!). The wrap-around deck has plenty of comfortable seating for all your company to enjoy the sunsets and outdoor eating.
While staying at the Halcyon House, rent a boat and enjoy the numerous islands throughout the Abacos; visit different restaurants and attractions throughout your stay. Come back to the dock at Halcyon at night to enjoy your sunset and the gorgeous surroundings. Or, stay on Lubbers Quarters and snorkel, paddle board, or fish just off of your long dock. Head over to Cracker P's for lunch or dinner. Cook fresh seafood from the Down Deep charters house a few doors down! Your choice!

Why Bunchie Engel chose Hope Town
We found the Halcyon House in June 2014 on a visit to the Abacos with family. We had made several visits to islands before and had always talked about one day buying a place of our own. A real estate booklet caught our eye over lunch, and next thing we knew, we were heading to Lubbers Quarters. Then, once we saw the house, we knew that it was meant to be. We closed in October 2014 and are happy to be sharing our wonderful new family getaway with you and yours!
What makes this House unique
Come see for yourself! Get away from the hustle and bustle, and enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of the west side of Lubbers! Kids will love the bright starfish, fish, and conchs in the clear waters as well as the curly tailed lizards and colorful birds. Find fabulous shells on local beaches. Adults - close the laptops and get out and go - or simply relax and unwind on the comfort of your deck with a good book or hit the dock with your fishing pole! Two double paddle boards and snorkel gear made available to renters as well!

Halcyon house was ideally located, comfortable and offered all the amenities we could ask for.
Chose this home along with Gone Bananas to accommodate our family of 6 siblings and spouses. Six family members stayed at Halcyon House. The two homes are in close proximity for shared activities. Halcyon was our favorite Gathering spot for evening cocktails and sunset viewing. It had a beautiful view and convenient dock for our boat rental and to access the water for snorkeling and paddle boarding. The owners made the rental process seamless and were quick to respond to our questions. The caretaker of the home was quick to see to our needs. Her husband, a commercial fisherman, sells fresh fish. One highlight of our stay was the night we grilled the freshly caught grouper on our deck.
House was everything we had hoped for. Perfect location. Super clean. Comfortable. Great sunsets. Lovely caretaker. We would resent in a second. Awesome owner too!
We had an amazing stay at the Halcyon House. It was perfect for our family....well maintained, clean, comfortable. Not only was the house everything that was described, but the pictures don’t do the surroundings justice. The manager, Laurie, was great responding to any needs we had and coming up with recommendations of places to go that were off the beaten path. We have 3 kids ages 9,8, and 5 and found incredible beaches, snorkeling, fishing and other adventures while we were there. If you plan to stay in or around Elbow or Lubbers, do yourself a favor and look at the Halcyon House.
Incredible location, beautiful views, can sit on the deck and see the kids fishing on the dock or paddle boarding. We made some friends on the island, and everyone was very nice. House was perfect for 6 of us. One thing to note though is the downstairs which has two twin beds and is separate from the house. Our kids ended up staying upstairs, while my in laws slept downstairs on the twin beds. I loved the idea of the separate living areas, but if you have small children keep that in mind. Also watch out for the noseeums (bugs) bring mosquito spray, and itch relief cream.
Bunchie the owner is an absolute delight to do business with, and has great response time. Loved the house!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us
Beautiful cottage and great location!
The cottage was every bit as nice as described on VRBO. House was clean, amenities as advertised, breathtaking views, and the dock was perfect for our boat rental. The location on Lubbers is central to explore so many a cays in the area. We had an amazing vacation! Highly recommend the Halcyon House!
Halcyon House Highlight of Trip
Our family traveled to Halcyon House for one week The owners were great to work with, very informative, and recommended everything from taxi driver (ask for Jeff) to boat rental company (we used Rainbow)to places to see and dine. Halcyon is located convenient to a long public dock on the south west ide of Lubbers. The large wrap around decks offer plenty of space with stunning views of the Abacos facing west so Sunsets are a must. We grilled with the most beautful sunset over the water. There are two outdoor showers, one offering privacy. The home has a wonderful open floor plan and the windows maximize the western view. The kitchen was well equipped. Spices and utensils. Fridge with ice maker. Disposall. Two well appointed bedrooms upstairs with one and 1/2 baths. One bedroom down with full bath. TV with surround sound and many DVDs. Linens were good.
The house is beautiful and come home for the sunsets, but there is so much to do here. Renting a boat is a must. Our family enjoyed: Dining at Abacos Inn. We went so many times that we left a big stack of cups at the house. It has a beautiful view of both the Abacos Sea and the Atlantic. The grouper fingers are to die for.abacoinn.com/
Snorkeling at Pelican Cay Land and Marine Park.bnt.bs/_m1731/The-National-Parks-of-The-Bahamas/Pelican-Cays-Land-and-Sea-Park. If you go here watch the tides. Try and go at a slack tide if possible. And while you are that far south, be sure to visit Little Harbor and Pete's Pub. The mango grouper was great.
We snorkeled at Mermaid Reef near to Marsh Harbor, on the Lubbers barge and also up the north end of Guana Cay.
We ate at Cracker P's and Lubbers Landing (Island Burger). We also went to harbor side in Hope Town for good food.
Tilloo Pond-to see turtles but these turtles are very skittish.
