Great Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We rented the property from Kevin for the first week of July and had a large group with 6 adults and 4 kids but there was plenty of space for all of us to not trip over one another the whole time. Kevin met us at the house to do a walkthrough and show us around and was very accessible if we needed anything and checked in on us throughout our stay to make sure everything was going well. The house was nice and clean and had everything we needed, we had asked if we could get a playpen and baby gate for the stairs which Kevin provided for us. Everyone loved the pool where we spent the majority of our time as well as the hot tub. Overall a great family vacation I would highly recommend renting this house I know we will the next time we visit.

Kelowna Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We rented the property from Kevin in mid September and stayed for a week. Considering we were a party of 5 adults, one 5 yr old, and a big dog, the house was perfect. It was late in the year for the pool but Kevin kept it open for us at our request. The adults loved the hot tub and the 5 yr old loved both the pool and the hot tub. Kevin sent a text in the middle of the week to advise us he was coming to check the pool and hot tub, he was in and out in about 20 minutes. Other than that no one bothered us. We found it easy to get to places we wanted to go. The convenience of the washer and dryer was great when travelling with a child. We had everything we needed to enjoy our week. The view from the deck at sunset was breathtaking. It was a perfect place to sit with a glass of wine and relax. The house was wonderful and just what we needed and wanted. Kevin is very personable and pleasant. He allowed us to have the house early in the day as some of us were flying in at 11:30am. I would rent this house or any other of his properties in a heartbeat, mainly because he was so easy to work with. My husband is terminally ill and this was probably our last family holiday and Kevin did everything in his power to make it a great time for us.

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

I had the opportunity to stay at Kevin's again this summer. Last year my wife and I came to Kelowna to get married and stayed at the property for a week, with my family from out of town.

We go to Kelowna every year and after having our first child we wanted to go for a relaxing weekend with some families and the new addition.

Kevin as always was very accommodating. It's a nice private property for a small group or large group.

We go to Kelowna every summer and we've always had a good stay and would stay here every time.

Expectations not met

  • 1 of 5

We booked the property because of the pool/hot tub/back yard. If that's the only pat of the house you will use its probably a good deal. The views are great, the hot tub was perfect however the pool because it is 11 feet deep was extremely cold. The ad claimed it was gas heated but the owner upon arrival said it was solar heated. Only after we complained did he say he would turn the gas heat on. The pool was only 72 degrees when we arrived in late July and got to 78 degrees at its warmest. Therefore it was good to jump in a cool off in but not to sit and lounge. That would be fine if there were comfortable lounge chairs in the back yard but the two that are there have minimal cushions and were clearly bought many years ago for very little money.

Inside we found it odd that the air conditioning was set to 76 degrees, which is quite hot, especially since we had a baby in the house. We tried to adjust and were told by the owner that he has it set to 76 because the system is not good enough to cool the house. We had to sit through several "repairmen" coming to the house (his neighbour) which took away from our enjoyment. If he would simply install some better sun shades on the back of the house the system could keep up but from 6-8pm the sun coming through all the back windows was unbearable. In the end the air conditioner repairmen stated a new system was needed for the whole house...hopefully he gets that installed at some point.

There is a rule in Kelowna that you can't put returnables in with recyclables...seems silly but its a city rule. However rather than volunteering to take them for his paying guests he inssisted that we take them because he didn't have time.

Finally, the cleaning of the house was pretty poor. We ended up having to pull out a tonne of hair from the shower drain as the tub was clogged. If i could upload a picture here I would.

The beds were fine, the kitchen, not as well stocked as the ad stated, however was fine. The fridge struggled to keep things cold but with 6-8 people in the house at any time that's to be expected.

The BBQ was probably the best thing about the house, worked very well and in a convenient spot.

There are not a lot of pet friendly places to rent so we understand you are not going to get the nicest properties when bringing two dogs...but you need air conditioning to work and the pool to be warm enough to use if you are renting in Kelowna in summer.

Perfect place for a large group!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house for an extended girls weekend and had a great time. The best part of the property is the backyard, perfect for hosting a large group and the pool and hot tub were kept clean. Plus the view is spectacular! The kitchen is spacious enough for multiple people to be in there at a time and all the rooms were great for the number of people we had. The home is a quick drive into downtown Kelowna and a perfect hub for visiting wineries in the area. We also greatly appreciated Kevin's attentiveness to any questions or concerns we had leading up to and during our trip, thanks Kevin!

Great place for a family/group

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented this property last year for the week leading up to our wedding. The property was perfect place to enjoy the outside with good size yard, pool & hot tub and deck area as well as the inside of the house. The property was well maintained and Kevin was available if needed. Property was updated and very nice on the inside. We liked it so much while we were there that we rented it for 3 nights this upcoming summer.
