About Larry V. Bond

I grew up in Pueblo from the age of four. My father worked for the Colorado Fuel and Iron. When I was 16 years old I began working as a busboy at the Top O Town restaurant, no longer here, that began my career in the restaurant /Hotel business. Over the past forty years I have worked in many locations around the country, from Louisville, KY to San Diego, Ca. Busboy to Director of Food and Beverage and all positions in between. I enjoy people and getting to know them and their life stories. I never want to fully retire so buying this home and returning to Pueblo has been on my bucket list.

Larry V. Bond purchased this house in 2013

Why Larry V. Bond chose Southeast

It was an opportunity to return to Pueblo. I have friends and family there.

What makes this house unique

The architectural modern design, the quiet upscale neighborhood, close to city but yet country feeling with wildlife.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Mary and family were perfect guests. I enjoyed meeting them and found them to be respectful and treated my home as if it were their own. I hope that all my guest would be so. I would highly recommend them as tenants to other VRBO owners. If they ever should be back in the Pueblo I would look forward to hosting them again.

Perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Casa Zen was perfect. We spent a week relaxing and exploring the area while our son waited to get into the dorms at CSU Pueblo.

We were impressed by the beautiful landscape and peacefulness of the area. We recommend driving toward Canon City to see the beautiful Arkansas river run through the valley with the Rockies as a backdrop. Larry was very nice to meet and a great host. We would definitely return.

Outstanding Pueblo Rental!

  • 5 of 5

Two couples rented this lovely home in early May for a getaway. What a great house! The owner, Larry (thanks Larry!) was a pleasure to work with. Booking and payment were a breeze and he even met us upon our arrival to show us features of his lovely home. Ceilings are high, spacious rooms, a huge sunroom with outstanding views of Pikes Peak. The kitchen is well equipped, washer and dryer are newer models and there are two fireplaces to enjoy if the weather is chilly--one in the sunroom and one in the large great room. The house was immaculate and felt like home away from home. Our friends used the hot tub with complete privacy in the back yard and the gentle sound of the running water in the water features was very relaxing. The house is located in a cove in an upscale neighborhood. If you want a quiet getaway for a family or couples with easy access to downtown and places of interest, contact Larry and reserve this house!

Lovely, spacious, home, perfect location, beautiful views, wonderful owner.Far exceeded expectations!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I rented Casa Zen out for a week while we were visiting family in Pueblo, and I couldn't be happier with the choice to stay there. The house is gorgeous and has spectacular views across the landscaped backyard and the sprawling plains towards Pike Peak in the distance. While the view outside is great, the amenities and decor inside the property is just as nice. The house is richly decorated with nice furnishings and lots of live plants and art work throughout giving the house a warm and inviting feel to it. The size and layout of the house allowed for us to have plenty of space apart when we wanted it, but also had plenty of large communal areas like the sun room and the large living room for when we wanted to gather around and visit.

I understand that sometimes just the upstairs suite gets rented out. This is the area of the house that my wife and I occupied during our stay. With the view from the private balcony and the amenities like the mini-fridge, in-room fireplace and enormous tub in the bath the upstairs suite would have still been a good choice if it had just been the two of us travelling. Also, because of the layout the upstairs suite has great privacy from the rest of the house.

Here's some of the important details for trip planning. All of the bedrooms had TV's in them, private bathrooms, and the house has good Wi-Fi coverage throughout. The kitchen was well furnished with quality appliances for preparing and serving meals. The property is located on the west side of town only a few minutes away from some of the attractions of Pueblo; namely Lake Pueblo State Park, the City Park and Zoo, and the Nature and Raptor Center. Travel a few miles more and you can be in downtown Pueblo at their Riverwalk where you can try some of their micro-brewed beers or eat at some of the local restaurants or you can head to the newer section of town on the north side where all of the name brand shopping and restaurants can be found.

Lest I forget, one of the best things about the property was the owner Larry. A true professional, all of the arrangements were handled smoothly in advance and the house was immaculate when we arrived. Larry also did a great job of walking us through the property making sure we knew where everything was and how everything worked.

My wife and I will definitely consider staying here again the next time we're planning a trip to Pueblo.
