About Holly Porter
Former teacher who quit her job to restore her great-grandfather's home and turn it into a B&B. North Carolina native, previously taught in Charlotte, NC and Phoenix, AZ.
Why Holly Porter chose Traphill
The Holbrook House has been in my family since it was built in 1913. The house was always filled with guests and family from near and far. I'm am so happy to bring life back to it after a major restoration.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Filled with historical details, heart pine floors throughout and hand carved mantels. The Holbrook House is part of the North Carolina Historical Register under the Traphill Historic District.

The breakfasts are delicious and Holly is a superb hostess!
had a very lovely time at Holbrok house. Holly was a very nice and amazing host, and we thank her for letting us stay. She was very accommodating and helped us with what ever we needed, and the breakfast was delicious! Would highly recommend!!
Lovely stay, lovely hostess
The 1913 home has been renovated to offer modern conveniences, but the look and feel are still nostalgic of the turn of the 20th Century. Beautiful antique furniture paired with decorative whimsy made for a charming B&B. Holly was a very gracious hostess and a wonderful cook. She made sure we were well taken care of during our stay while still affording us our privacy.
The proximity of the home to Stone Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway provided us with beautiful vistas and a relaxing weekend. It was the perfect little escape.
Like being with family (you know... the family you like!) and friends!
My husband and I stayed at the Holbrook House for our anniversary. Before we even arrived, Holly (the owner), was already so accommodating. She provided dinner and winery recommendations, as well as gave great directions for finding the house. We had no trouble finding the house and were greeted with a warm welcome upon arrival. After showing us to our beautiful room, Holly offered us wine and cheese. Within minutes, we no longer felt like strangers but like family! Holly showed us around the house and property. IT IS GORGEOUS, yall! She has done an incredible job restoring this beautiful piece of her family's history and was so kind to share it with us.
The room itself was extremely comfortable and clean. It was cozy and warm. Holly had provided snacks and water for us as well, which was a really sweet touch. The next morning, she prepared a fantastic breakfast. We did not even need lunch that day! We were not in a hurry to go anywhere that morning so we enjoyed a nice chat with Holly. Again, it was like being with an old friend or family member, even though we had just met.
I can't say enough good things about the Holbrook House. It is a beautiful home, nestled on a gorgeous piece of property. It is convenient to hiking and several (amazing!) wineries. There were several nice restaurants and downtown shopping areas just a 20 minute drive or so away. We look forward to coming back soon and also sharing/recommending it with friends and family.
Great Stay, Great Host
Holly has done a wonderful job with this property and is a very personable and accommodating host. Highly recommend.
