Charming, sun-filled and spacious Marais 2 bedroom in the heart of the City
This aristocratic 17th century building in the heart of the historic and stylish Marais district has old world charm and modern comfort. Majestic dimensions define this superbly located apartment tucked behind the gorgeous Rue Vielle du Temple. Old wood paneling, library bookshelves and enormous floor to ceiling windows lend the main living space elegance and reflect the building's historic status. The decor is a mix of traditional French – bergère chairs, for example – contemporary and art deco that gives it immense personality and individuality. No surprise that it is the cherished home of a successful musician.
With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the layout of this apartment is ideal for couples or families. Decorated in an eclectic style, it mixes trendy young features with traditional Parisian pieces. The master bedroom boast original polished parquet wood floors. The apartment has two contemporary bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a rare full bathtub as well as a separate WC. The kitchen is small and intimate with a little breakfast table, perfect for a quick snack before you step into the theatre of the city that is quite literally at your doorstep.
For centuries the home to Parisian aristocracy, the Marais is very centrally located on the right bank of the Seine and spans the 3rd and 4th arrondissements. Today, it is one of the capital's most desirable districts to call home – and with its mix of twisting little streets, ancient squares, historic buildings and lively bars and restaurants it is not hard to see why. This area allows a visitor to step back in Parisian history simply by roaming the quaint neighborhood. The smell of the freshly baked challah from the Pletzl, Paris' Jewish Quarter, wafts over the cobblestoned streets. Do not miss a stroll round the majestic Place des Vosges or the Musée Picasso. All of Paris is accessible from this special apartment. As an added treat, just a few blocks away, you will find one of the best Parisian pastry shops - La République Pâtissière.
In an ideal layout, the two bedrooms are at completely opposite side of the apartment - perfect for those needing their own space and looking for privacy. One bedroom is overlooking the street (queen bed) while the 2nd bedroom (king or twin beds) is overlooking an interior courtyard. The salon, or living room, is spacious and lined in charming bookshelves. The dining table is connected to the salon that also includes a fireplace and large windows. The street, rue du Perche, is a one-way road and quiet during the day and night, the apartment itself is well isolated. There are 2 bathrooms, one has a shower and the second one has a bathtub. There are two separate toilets, one near the entrance, one near the bathroom with the bathtub. There is also a sofa bed in the salon that sleeps one person.

Perfect space to enjoy Paris!
We were met by a charming women who oriented us to the apartment and appliances. The space was clean and bright with floor to ceiling windows. Right in the heart of a vibrant, vivacious community, fantastic food, coffee, pastries, cheeses, charcuteres you could not ask for more. World class transportation, museums and culture only minutes away. We were a family of 5 and were quite comfortable in this beautiful space. Do not hesitate.
Excellent property; great location
We stayed here for 5 nights in April 2018. The apartment is close to many great sights and easy walking distance to the center of Paris. We were two adult couples and the layout offers plenty of privacy - each bed and bath combo is on an opposite side of the apartment. Lovely decor, high ceilings, and a secure building. Quiet little street at night but only a couple blocks from many cafes, restaurants, bars and specialty food shops. There is a cafe at end of the street (approx 30 steps from the front door) for your morning coffee.
Everything was spotless upon our arrival. You may need to gently push on the washing machine door when you try to start a wash cycle - the sensor is finicky and thinks that the door is not shut. Would definitely stay here again. The only things that might make the apartment better (and they are small things) would be 1. extend the frosted privacy stripes on the courtyard-facing bathroom window a bit higher, and 2. if the courtyard bedroom door was before the toilet and shower room rather than after - this would give more privacy to that bathroom as it's not far from the dining area.
Thanks for a great stay!
Many thanks for such a nice review. I appreciate your suggestions too and will look into them both! Merci Beaucoup!
What a fabulous apartment!
This is a stunning apartment in a wonderful area - the Marais! So many great shops, restaurants, and bars are all around this apartment in this wonderful area of Paris. Additionally, you are close to the center of Paris and all the major sight-seeing - Notre Dame, the Louvre, Rue du Rivoli, etc. The apartment itself is as good as it looks in the photos - wonderful tall book shelves and high ceilings in the main living and dining area, large kitchen with espresso machine (yay!), and 2-bedroom, 2-bath with an additional pull out sofa bed. It worked perfectly for our family of 5. The host met us on arrival and was extremely helpful with recommendations and explaining the apartment. The apartment is only one floor / one flight of stairs up, but there is also a small elevator to use to get bags up. We utilized the clothes washer and dryer while we were there, after a few days into our trip. It has everything you need, in a great location and historic building. Wonderful spot.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful review! We're so glad we met your expectations and you enjoyed your time in Paris. Merci Beacoup!
A beautiful property in a lovely neighborhood.
A charming apartment in a great location. It was a neighborhood made for strolling. The crepe restaurant across the street was amazing. The only negative was the sleeper sofa located in the living room that had no drapery and a large outdoor lantern lit at night illuminating the whole room and making sleep difficult. If you do not need to use the sofa bed, I would highly recommend this apartment.
Beautiful quiet apartment centrally located for exploring
We had an excellent stay and the property management was very easy to work with and provided wonderful details.
The Property was in a great location
The apartment was very nice and spacious.
Often referred to as “Old Paris,” Le Marais exudes old-world charm and modern-day functionality in the citys core. Cobblestone streets wind through Le Marais' dizzying network of hidden courtyards, provocative galleries, and ivy-covered boulangeries. The neighborhood’s meticulously styled aesthetic of painted windowpanes and antique relics is not an accident. Le Marais was well kept by its once thriving Jewish population, and its recent incarnation as a hotspot keeps it trim and tailored.
