If Pelican Beach House were any closer to the beach, it would be in danger of being swept out with the tide! The sandy patio of our 4-bedroom house is mere steps from Gulf of Mexico. From its wide, open deck you can watch dolphins and manatees frolic among the boats in the sparkling waters, and every night you have front-row seats to awe-inspiring sunsets.
The deck may well become your favorite part of Pelican Beach House. It’s furnished with plenty of chairs so that everyone can hang out and savor the salt-tinged breezes. There’s a picnic table with benches too, so that you can dine alfresco. There’s nothing like sunshine, the wind rustling through the palm trees, and the rhythmic rolling of the waves on the sand to spur one’s appetite!
The large picture window of the living room lets you savor the glorious views of the beach as well--and it lets you do so from the comfort of new, luxe reclining armchairs and sofas! Should you ever tire of gazing outside, you can watch a favorite movie on the HDTV, surf the web via the free WiFi, or take advantage of the wealth of space to play with the kids.
The dining table seats 6 people comfortably--so comfortably, in fact, that after you’ve cleared the plates you’ll want to deal a hand of cards, break open the Monopoly board, or open another bottle of wine and linger with your family and friends. There’s additional seating at the adjacent breakfast bar. If you want to enjoy a quiet, grown-ups-only meal, serve the kids dinner at the counter while the adults sit in the dining room--the kids will love it!
One of Pelican Beach House’s many advantages is that it’s within walking distance to the plethora of restaurants in Fort Myers Beach’s Times Square area. When you do feel like cooking, though, our kitchen is equipped with everything you need: appliances, pots and pans, prep tools, tableware. Thanks to the open floor plan, even when you’re busy in the kitchen you can keep up with the dining room conversation or keep an eye on the little ones in the living room. There’s even a dishwasher; after all, when the beach is your backyard, why waste time scrubbing plates? Likewise, the house has its own full-size washer and dryer. This could be the first time you return home from vacation with a suitcase full of clean clothes!
All 4 bedrooms are sunny, spacious retreats with plenty of storage, windows to let the sunshine in, and ceiling fans to sooth you to sleep. Two bedrooms have a queen-size bed, making Pelican Beach House ideal for 2 couples or families. The 3rd bedroom has 2 full-size beds, accommodating up to 4 sleepers, and the 4th bedroom is furnished with 2 twin beds. All together, the house can sleep 10 people--go ahead, invite family and friends to stay!
Plenty of fresh towels will be waiting in the 3 full-size bathrooms and the half-bath, and the beds will be made. If you need to shower or nap before you explore the area, go right ahead!
And there is plenty to explore. First, there’s the beach itself. Thanks to its velvety sands (rich pickings for shell collectors!) and relatively calm waters, it’s considered one of the nation’s best and safest beaches. Swim, kayak, sail, fish, race jet skis, give parasailing a go: Because you can walk to the beach and back anytime you want, you’ll have plenty of time to do it all!
Nearly as close is Bowditch Point Park, a must-visit for bird watchers. It also features hiking paths, a butterfly park, and a tortoise area. And as well as restaurants, nearby Times Square has shops, bars, street performers, and plenty of opportunities for people watching.
Whether you plan to spend your days beachcombing or biking, swimming or shopping, paddleboarding or parasailing, Pelican Beach House makes it all so easily accessible. So what are you waiting for? Book your stay today! Note: No use of condo pools on each side of property.

What a great vacation rental! The location was incredible, with the beach a few steps away and a million dollar view. Inside, there was a lot of room for me and my husband and our 2 adult children. Some of the beds were uncomfortable, but we had a few extras to choose from. It is a well-worn beach cottage and some areas could use updating, but it had a large kitchen, comfortable TV seating, great parking, washer & dryer, a view we could watch forever, and location, location, location. (Bring your own beach towels.) I had worried about the high-rise properties overshadowing this little cottage, but that wasn't the case; landscaping provided a lot of privacy, even on the deck. We had a great time, and we would love to return.
We had a great week at the Pelican Beach House. The weather was perfect. The location was very nice having the beach so close. Could walk to town or the pier. The deck offered a peaceful place to watch the beach, waves and sunsets. The layout of the house worked nice with the open kitchen, living room, and dining room. The only down fall was the bathrooms. Only one of the three has been updated. Although it did not effect our stay, some updating would be nice. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home.
The Pelican Beach House was in a perfect location to enjoy all the activities in Fort Myers Beach. Nice quiet street, but close enough to Times Square so that we could walk to stores, restaurants etc.. Beautiful views of the Gulf while sitting on the deck or looking out the window. Very short walk to the beach. The house was roomy and had exactly what was advertised. Other than a couple of the bathrooms that needed updated, the house was in good, clean condition.
Property location is amazing, views are lovely. Large enough for comfortable family vacation. Kitchen updated and large/open. Plenty of towels. Lots of parking space. Cons: decor and linens dated, bathrooms need upgrading and new bathroom shower leaks, grill is small charcoal weber with an unusable grate (we bought a new one).
Clean-couple bathrooms need updating-great setup for our family with four bedrooms. Check in was not convenient. Management company need to work on their availability & people skills.
