Where the best of vintage Florida meets modern convenience, you’ll find Estero Beach House. This historic home, built in 1947, has been remodeled and updated to meet the expectations of today’s Florida vacationers. What it offers in charm and Gulf shore location is simply not achievable in many other accommodations.
Estero Beach House is a three-bedroom / three bathroom, air-conditioned beach home that sleeps 10. The home is near the middle of Fort Myers Beach, which makes it easy to reach attractions at either end of the island. Park your car in the garage beneath the house and walk in through the screened lanai that, along with the expansive open-air deck, is just steps from the white sands of the beach and the turquoise waters of the Gulf.
You’ll enter the house through a door that features stained glass that may date from the home’s early years. The main living area includes a fireplace, comfortable furniture and a large flat-screen TV with DVD player. There’s also free Internet in Estero Beach House, which is a big asset when it comes to setting tee times and making restaurant reservations.
You’ll love the historic touches like the built-in bookshelves, crown molding, and handsome hardwood floors. Best of all, the living room is flooded with light from the many windows facing directly out on the Gulf.
You can dine on the lanai or gather everyone around the large dining room table and chairs that has space for a family style dinner. The kitchen is a beautiful and thoughtfully achieved combination of historic charm and modern convenience. The ceiling’s historic lattice design and cabinetry overhangs call to mind the kitchen’s 1947 roots in a pleasing way, but nothing is sacrificed in ease-of-use. You’ll find literally everything you need to prepare a snack or full-course meals in this large kitchen with expansive countertops. There’s even a washer and dryer tucked away in a corner for your family’s use.
The large master bedroom includes a king-sized bed. This bed will feel so good after a day of playing on the beach outside of Estero Beach House, golfing on the nearby course or, perhaps, fishing on a local expedition into the Gulf. The master bathroom is large enough to give you plenty of room to spread out your things and get ready at your leisure each morning.
The second bedroom includes a king-sized bed and the very large third bedroom has four twin beds and a double. Windows throughout the house are large and offer beautiful views of the Gulf and surrounding area. There are two additional bathrooms for use by guests staying in these bedrooms. With three bathrooms in Estero Beach House, getting ready for your day should be streamlined with everyone getting his or her opportunity to shower. There are plenty of towels and hot water for everyone.
As much as you will enjoy the inside of Estero Beach House, you’re going to love the outside even more. There are open-air decks on both sides of the house in addition to a screened porch area. There’s nothing like sitting on the deck listening to the surf lap the shore as the sun sinks beyond the watery horizon.
From Estero Beach House you can easily make your way south to Lovers Key State Park for kayaking, canoeing, hiking and biking on wetland trails. You are also minutes from Santini Marina Plaza, which is also located mid-island and offers many interesting shops and restaurants. That’s just the start of the possibilities nearby when you book your stay at Estero Beach House. It will be the vacation of a lifetime.

This is the second time in three years we rented this property. The price is less, but that is what is expected from the property. The condition of the home is fine. Not fantastic but clean and functional for our stay. This year we ran into a few problems with the ice maker not working and the drains in two of the bathroom showers draining slowly. We called for service and repair technicians came out several times to work on the issues. The ice maker had to be ordered and we had to buy ice for the week. The drains were cleared. The location of the property is what you pay for here. Fifty feet to the water on the Gulf. Far enough from the main town to avoid crowds and traffic but close enough to go if need be. Publix is half a mile away for supplies. Junkanoo's (bar and restaurant) is 1/2 mile walk on the beach to have a nice meal and a few drinks. Overall a full house of family from three states enjoyed themselves.
We stayed at Estero Beach House Easter Week 2015. It was wonderful. There was more than enough room for 10 of us. Everything was very clean but we did see a couple of huge cockroaches but they didn't bother us. We saw dolphins out of our window each morning. The beach was great and kids loved swimming. This house does include 3 lounge chairs, an umbrella and also a gas grill which aren't listed. Publix is walking distance from here which was nice because traffic getting on and off the island was horrendous. Would highly recommend the property.
