One bdrm in historic home w/ great porches and beautiful furniture.
Located in the Historic Cummings-Taylor house on a cobblestone downtown street, this cozy 1 bedroom/1 bath condo has original wood floors, beautiful furnishings and fantastic outdoor spaces. Although the condo is small, it is elegantly appointed and has two porches - a covered porch off the living room and an open porch off the bright kitchen.
The home was built in 1889 and has been converted into three units with this property occupying the third (top) floor of the house. There is a full kitchen and nice dining area. The bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed and a pull out couch so the condo sleeps four. There is also a washer and dryer.
The home is located in historic downtown Wilmington but is far enough from the lively downtown 'scene' to ensure you enjoy being in this great city while still being able to relax. Walk four blocks to catch the FREE downtown trolley that will take you anywhere in the historic area you would like to visit. The trolley runs every 20 minutes. Downtown Wilmington has so much to offer - great shopping, delicious restaurants, lively nightlife, historic homes and buildings, horse drawn carriage tours, and so much more. There are fantastic beaches within a 20 minute drive from the house.
Make this home your home away from home while you explore this great city!

Our family lives in Charleston, SC. We love to travel and enjoy getting away to Wilmington. I grew up in the South and my husband grew up in the Northeast but came south as soon as he could. I graduated from Clemson University and he graduated from Norwich University in Vermont. We have a ten year old daughter and an eleven year old yellow lab.
Michelle purchased this Condo in 2006
Why Michelle chose Historic District
We fell in love with this home as soon as we saw it even though we had told ourselves we would never buy an historic home. For the first few years we owned it the home was rented to mostly students at nearby UNCW but we recently decided to completely renovate the house and once we saw the beautiful results we decided it would be a great homebase for people visiting the area.
What makes this Condo unique
This home has so much charm and is in a great location close to everything downtown and an easy drive to some of the best beaches in North Carolina.

Wonderful location and apartment in historic neighborhood. Walking distance to downtown!
Attractive third floor apartment with comfortable bed. Well equipped and close to great restaurants and fun. Quiet and peaceful with two little decks.
Great location- comfortable for two
The apartment is located close to downtown and the restaurants and shops on Castle Street. The apartment is homey and comfortable for two. Bed and linens were above average. It is s third floor walk up but we knew that going in. As long as you are able to manage the stairs you will be fine. Two nice decks for sitting outside with nice views and one is covered. We stayed almost two weeks as we are having a house built in the area and appreciated the washer and dryer combo. Apartment manager was helpful for the couple of items we needed.
Can't wait to come back!
The apartment was beautiful and perfect for our stay. We loved the short walk to Downtown.
Quaint spot perfect walk to downtown
This historic home and 1 bedroom apartment is perfect for a couples getaway weekend. We walked downtown multiple times (approx 8min walk). The two porches at the apartment were great to enjoy with a cup of coffee in the morning. And we loved that we could bring our dogs! We will definitely be back!
Historic downtown 1 bedroom
Cozy 1 bedroom unit in a 3 story historic home close to downtown Wilmington. There are several steps to get up to the unit, but we didn’t mind. The unit had everything we needed, and was nicely furnished. There was ice and snow the night before we were supposed to leave, so I asked the owner if we could check out later, or possibly stay another night due to road conditions, and she was more than accommodating. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!
We needed a HOME after suffering through Hurricane Irma and this was it!
We are thankful that we had a warm, homey place to stay! A wonderful location to downtown and we walked downtown a lot. We also felt safe here. We enjoyed both porches ... living room porch in the morning and kitchen porch at sunset. I was able to paint 2 paintings here which took me a month after Irma to even pick up a brush! We are very grateful for this “safe haven”.
