Crested Butte truly is a Rocky Mountain paradise.
Spring and Summer see the entire valley explode with color. We are officially the “Wildflower Capital of Colorado” for good reason. Come join the Wildflower Festival and enjoy guided hikes. Legend has it that mountain biking originated in Crested Butte and it's easy to see why. Home to arguably the best mountain biking in the world there are literally hundreds of trail miles to suit all ability levels. Like many attractions in CB, the mountain biking is truly world class. Enjoy the warm summer days fly fishing, kayaking or rafting the Taylor River, paddle board scenic Lake Irwin, enjoy a round of golf, a game of tennis, scale countless 12,000’ peaks or just hang out in the historical district downtown and watch the world go by.
Fall is incredible as the aspen trees put on their show of color. Enjoy an incredible drive over Kebler Pass to Paonia, one of the top ten fall color drives in the entire country. It can’t be described, you have to see it. Fall also welcomes hunters to town seeking that perfect elk.
In Winter, it is all about the 200 inches of snow we get in an average year. With 1547 skiable acres and 121 trails at Crested Butte Mountain Resort there is something for every ability range. If Nordic is your thing, Crested Butte Nordic Center maintain over 50 Kms of trail. If you favor the back country, let’s just say there is a pretty large playground out there. Skin it, ski it, snowshoe it or rent a snow tire bike and ride it.
