Our beloved house in the hills is called "Villa Ponente" because exposed to the South-West and then in the direction of the sunset, it is in a very quiet place, according to many it is one of the most beautiful places in the hills of Cortona. Isolated, but very close to the historical center of Cortona (only 1.3 km), it is easily reached on foot along a road full of history and wonderful landscapes. The house was completely rebuilt in 2102, has remained "typical" like the other houses around, but using all the modern technologies, is composed of a living / dining room, a spacious kitchen, a living room with fireplace and sofas, a double bedroom with private bathroom with shower and laundry on the ground floor, while upstairs we have 2 bedrooms with another bathroom with bathtub. The furniture in style is sober, cared and functional. We have a large terrace of mq. 40 on the poolside of mt. 9x4 and a large pergola in the south side with barbecue and wood oven.
From our terrace you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the entire Valdichiana, to 360 degrees, live all day the sun of our beloved Tuscany, relax in the pool overlooking the valley and melt into an unforgettable sunset in the most evocative moment of the day.
It can exaggerate too much, but those who came to see us have described all these feelings.
The house is in the countryside but with every comfort and inserted in an ideal geographical context where you can be in full relax all day or can be used as a strategic point from which to start every morning and reach the most beautiful and interesting cities of Italy central. Florence is 100 km away, Siena- Perugia- Assisi- about 60 km. Lucca, Carrara, Viareggio about 150 km. Rome km. 220. Even closer are Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano and Lake Trasimeno with all its towns and medieval villages such as Castiglion del Lago etc. without counting all the beaches and the islands must it is also possible to find bathing establishments also equipped for children.
Cortona, the most important city of the Valdichiana offers many opportunities, from the most important interactive Archaeological Museum of central Italy (MAEC) which collects very important Etruscan finds such as the "Tabula Cortonensis" and the "Etruscan Chandelier" passing through various Egyptian finds to Renaissance medieval works up to Severini. In Cortona you can also come to taste wines and typical Tuscan foods, one of all the Chianina Breed Steak, adored all over the world.
