About Andrew Hughes

I am a Seattle attorney. This area holds a special place in my heart as both a University of Washington alumni and someone who has spent over a decade living and exploring Seattle and the the incredible University District neighborhood. I love the energy and diversity of the people and activities the University District shares with all those who visit. Whether it is shopping and strolling through the University Village or along University Way, having a picnic under the cherry blossoms in the University of Washington campus quad, browsing the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings, taking a canoe through the arboretum on Lake Washington on a beautiful summer day, or just sitting and relaxing at one of countless local cafes - there is always something to do, to taste, and always another reason to live and stay in the University District. I hope you will join me so that I may share my love for this area, Seattle, and the State of Washington as a whole. Safe travels and I hope to see you soon.

What makes this house unique

I am centrally located and only a few short blocks from the University of Washington Campus and a short bus, car, or cab ride from downtown Seattle. The countless other unique Seattle neighborhoods, each with their own individual identity - including, Fremont, Ballard, Capital Hill, Madison Park, & more - are only a short distance away and are exceptional places to explore and enjoy. Although close to campus and downtown, the property is a peaceful escape from pace of the city. On a clear day you can awake to the sun rising over the Cascade Mountains and Lake Washington from your private deck and when we get an occasional snow in the winter you can behold the same beauty bundled up inside next to the fire. Within minutes of stepping outside your door you can be walking or jogging along the Burke Gilman Trail or enjoy one of our favorite walking loops around Green Lake with a coffee in hand. Wonderful restaurants and cafes are within walkable distance whether you walk east or west. If you choose to stay in for the night our wonderfully appointed property can provide you with everything you could want or need for a relaxing and quiet evening. The property is well-appointed with all new furnishings and incredible amenities. Whether you are visiting Seattle for the first time, in the area for a local event or activity, staying for work, play, or visiting family or friends, I would be honored to share our home with you during your stay in Seattle.

Youth Softball Team Trip

  • 5 of 5

We visited with our 14U softball team to attend two University of Washington softball games. The house was great! We were able to walk to the softball games and University Place shopping center. Andrew was very responsive and house was as advertised. Thank you for the great experience for our team!

Convenient location for a visit to UW. Well stocked kitchen with all the essentials in the rest of the house. Emailed all the details of the stay well in advance of our arrival. Everything was as advertised.

Everything we needed was at our fingertips. There were plenty of brochures and suggestions for what we could do during our stay. We appreciate the owner's efforts in going the extra mile to make us feel welcomed.

Amazing views, amazing space, amazing value

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a spot near the University of Washington with easy access to downtown and we found it in this beautiful home. There were five of us and as we began looking around, we soon found this home with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, perfect for our family. My mother-in-law had her own bedroom and bath on the first floor so her 4am coffee brewing went unnoticed by the rest of us. She appreciated the space near the kitchen and privacy. My wife and I took the master and our kids took the second bedroom upstairs. It was nice to have our own bathroom/closet space and I know the girls appreciated theirs as well. Andrew is a great communicator, quick to reply, and full of helpful advice. Our daughter loved the colleges the area has to offer, so we may be back. We will definitely reserve this home again. Wait until you see the view off the balcony!

Spacious and charming

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. Lots of room and great views. University area so good amenities (huge shopping plaza just a short walk/lots of stairs away) but a touch noisy and dirty given the house is in the middle of all frat and sorority houses. The kitchen is very cute with all your basic needs. The owner was very responsive to all questions and concerns except one. The house was not well cleaned before our stay (long gobs of hair in the shower, toenails on bathroom floors, cobwebs in corners, and dust bunnies in the kitchen) and we received no response to our email suggesting an inspection of the cleaning service. The parking spot is also super tight if you drive an SUV or truck but we made it work. Overall we are happy to give our stay 4 stars because aside from some minor details, the property was exactly as advertised and perfect for our stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words and suggestions - always looking to improve the quality of stay for future guests. Have passed along your cleaning observations which are easy fixes for future turnovers and stays. The house is located outside the Greek system though there are students living in houses in the surrounding area, along with long term residents, and families - a normal cross section within a university community.
