Very Disappointed!

  • 2 of 5

We actually stayed in two different units on the same hallway in this building December 20 - 26, 2015. We were unable to book our entire stay in the same unit due to previous holiday bookings for the units. This gives me a basis to compare 2 units and 2 management companies. Our entire experience in this particular unit was not nearly what we expected. The furnishings are worn and dated. Armchairs in the living area are frayed, bathrooms small, beds and linens very average. The smoke alarm in the second bedroom had been removed from the ceiling and the wires were left dangling. The refrigerator makes a very loud, obnoxious noise every time its motor runs. The window views from the living area are nice, and this would be an appropriate unit for, say, a group of college students or others with lower expectations. However, I paid TOP DOLLAR to rent this unit for 3 nights over Christmas. I understand that timing drove the price up, but I travel frequently and I am very confident in saying that for the price I paid--and in comparison with another unit down the hall-- the value for the money was NOT there. I also found the management company to be unfriendly and unhelpful. I needed a little extra understanding and coordination to move from one unit to the other, and they were very difficult to work with. I give the stay 2 stars for the building and its location. Convenient free parking is available across the street but you do not need a car while in town. The Telluride free transit bus, the Galloping Goose, is fantastic. It picks up right outside the building and takes you anywhere in town you could want to go and the wait was rarely more than a couple of minutes. This property is right at the base of Lift 7 and there is a Telluride Sports outlet at the lift where you can obtain and turn in rental equipment. You can sled on the hill right behind the building. The largest grocery store in town is in easy walking distance. Basically this location is a great choice for your stay, but I would not pay a high rate expecting luxury inside this unit. It needs updating.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your informative and helpful review of Etta Place Too #111. We are disappointed you did not have a good experience with this condo and our management company. We have been working with the owner to replace the two chairs with frayed armrests as well as a few other furnishings. All the condos in this complex are individually owned and different in style and layout. Christmas week is one of the busiest and highest occupancy weeks of the year so we are sorry you did not find value in this rental. We will work with the owner regarding your recommendations and our staff to improve the service we provide in the future. Again, we appreciate your feedback and we hope you will stay with us again.

All the comforts of home!

  • 5 of 5

This place was perfect for our stay. it was a place we could call home for our weekend trip and wasn't missing any necessary amenities.

It was also located right by a beautiful little trail leading directly into town and was an easy 10 minute walk to the gondola. For those who didn't want to walk or cannot, there is a free shuttle that gets you to the action.

Only thing to consider is that there's no elevator and this unit was on the second floor. There weren't too many steps though and getting luggage up wasn't a big deal for us.

We'd definitely stay again.
