Located in quiet South Palm Springs, this residence enjoys wide open mountain vistas. Officially a condo, our single level home feels more like your own private desert bungalow. Our retreat is in the architecturally significant Canyon View Estates, designed by Palmer+Krisel and built in 1963. This charming enclave of homes is featured on modern tours and harkens back to yesteryear: single story white stucco and shadow block houses in small groups, sharing a sparkling pool, majestic palms and citrus trees. The home has the classic 'umbrella' roof with cool triangular clerestory windows that transmit very pleasing light. The partly covered patio provides beautiful and glare-free mountain views throughout the day. If you'd like to sunbathe, the outer patio and pool area have plentiful sun.

Noted designer Christopher Kennedy and Kristina Voelk helped to guide a complete renovation of the interior in the summer/fall of 2014. The original concrete slab has been exposed, polished and brought to life. The kitchen has all new appliances, glossy white cabinets, quartz counter tops and cool-blue subway tile. A long peninsula can be used for casual counter dining or serve as a handy buffet. The two bathrooms are newly redone and are simple, clean and bright.

The home has brand new midcentury inspired furnishings. We are proud to share a beautiful and varied mix of original art.

Our neighborhood is quiet and calm, yet is just 5 minutes by car to bustling downtown Palm Springs with its vibrant nightlife. We are close to golf, tennis, the Palm Springs Swim Center, and wonderful museums. Excellent hiking and cycling is just outside the front door. Two bicycles are available so that you can enjoy a spin through some fantastic modern neighborhoods near us. Smoke Tree Village, with grocery, shops and good restaurants is very close by. If so inclined, your morning 'Koffi' run is very close as well. A day exploring Joshua Tree National Park (one hour away) is hard to beat.

We welcome you for a long stay and hope that you relax, unwind and soak up the desert mojo. We will be so pleased if you make this your home away from home and depart feeling restored and refreshed, saying THIS is 'My Chill Spot' too!

We are two desert lovers residing in Northern California. Come winter, we generally take a long trip poking around the southwestern US. On a trip to Joshua Tree several years ago we stumbled across the iconic Palm Springs Visitor Center (formerly a gas station) with its soaring roofline. That visit sparked our love for Palm Springs and its midcentury time capsule splendor.

Great rental!

This property is clean, nicely furnished with very comfortable beds, linens, towels. Kitchen is fully equipped with nice utensils and dishware. Quiet, conveniently located for pool access, and the neighborhood is great for walking or biking. Close to, but removed from, shopping areas, and best of all is the lack of wind in this section of Palm Springs---the winds are a negative factor in other parts of town. As nice as it can be....

THE UNIT WAS VERY NICE. VERY WELL STOCKED FOR EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO COOK OR DRINK. BLENDER, 2 COFFEE MACHINES AND ALSO SOME SPICES AND LITTLE THINGS THAT MADE IT EASY TO LIVE IN. THE CONCRETE FLOORS ARE EASY AND THE SLIPPERS WERE A NICE TOUCH. CAME IN HANDY! CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN P.S. SHORT BIKE [ WHICH ARE INCLUDED] RIDE AWAY IF YOU LIKE OR MINUTES IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE STAYED IN THE AREA BEFORE AND ENJOY THE QUIETNESS. INDIAN CANYON GOLF IS FANTASTIC. SOUTH COURSE BEING MORE PICTURESQUE AND NORTH COURSE NOT QUITE AS NICE BUT NOSTALGIC. MANY OTHER COURSES NOT TO FAR AWAY.THERE WERE A FEW LITTLE THINGS THAT NEED ATTENTION IN THE CONDO BUT OVERALL A GREAT STAY. THE POOL IS NOT ALWAYS HEATED BUT THE HOT TUB IS USUALLY GOOD TO GO. I WOULD RETURN!

It was a chilly January so it really was our chill spot!

Nice, well equipped condo! Everything we needed! Kitchen had everything and more! Comfy beds and linens, great tv and wifi, warm pool on weekends, nice jacuzzi and pool are make this a great rental! Lots of fruit to pick in January! We loved our daily fresh juices!

Beautiful Palm Spring property

We had a great month staying at Chillspot. The house was exactly as shown in the pictures. The entire house was clean and newly renovated to a high standard. A well equipped and spacious kitchen were much appreciated. The beds were comfortable and plenty of linen and towels were provided.

We would definitely stay here again.

We did not have any problems but the Manager was easy to contact and very helpful when we had a question.

We enjoyed brunch at Ace and Cheeky's and great burgers at Tylers. We hiked every afternoon and the local trails are diverse and scenic. We golfed every morning at Indian Canyons and both South and North Courses are worth a round.

I hope we will be back soon.

The home was in good condition and was equipped with everything we needed.

I would say the negative overall for this house is that it echoes every noise because there is nothing to absorb it. High ceilings and no carpeting. That is hard on someone with hearing problems.

Any issue we had were handled promptly and was very much appreciated. It was clean and well maintained.

We also would have liked to know the pool isn't heated at the time we were there, only for one week during break from school and one weekend. Enjoyed the hot tub!

I was a bit disappointed in the "3-star" rating, as we have put so much time and effort into making this a truly "5-star" property and it is our goal to provide the absolute best experience for every guest. Of course there is nothing that can be done about the high ceilings and the granite flooring, as this is the mid-century style, but I hope that aside from the inconvenience for your husband's hearing, you both had a nice stay with us.

Spacious, light, modern and well-kept. In one of Palm Springs' best areas for views + architecture.

Highly recommended. We stayed for 3 months and used as a base for travel through SoCal. Well-equipped mid-century home that has been restored with modern conveniences and keen attention to detail. Technically a condo but feels like a bright, spacious house. Comfortable beds, tons of good bedding and towels and great water pressure in the showers. Smart TVs in living area and all bedrooms; well-stocked kitchen. Shared pool and jacuzzi are a few steps from the back patio, and were generally empty (Sep-Dec). Back gardens are well-kept with citrus trees and palms. Indian Canyon is one of Palm Springs' best neighborhoods for views and architecture, and (helpfully for golfers) is sheltered from the winds that blow through other parts of the Coachella Valley. Nearby Indian Canyons golf courses are historic treasures - where Sinatra and Disney and Eisenhower would play. Some of Palm Springs' most scenic hiking trails (Carl Lykken trail and Bogert Trail) are 2 minutes and 5 minutes away, respectively. Property included retro cruising bikes which are great for seeing the neighborhood. Great bars and restaurants nearby (the Parker and the ACE included). Jessicca, property manager, was fantastic. We checked out other properties in this price bracket and still believe this is one of the best on the market. Would gladly return.
