About Jane B
My passion for France began in my early teens. French was my favourite subject at school and I found that singing along with all the French pop stars on the radio improved my accent and comprehension no end. I wanted to look like Juliette Greco and sing like Francoise Hardy (some hope!) I spent several teenage summers with a penfriend in Niort, (Deux Sevres) where my French became fairly fluent. Not surprisingly, it was my choice of subject at university but I turned my back on a job offer with Michelin, on the basis that a life in tyres wasn’t for me. Instead I became a music PR, journalist and eventually a television producer and programme commissioner. But my dream was always to own a little piece of France. That dream became a reality in 2004 when I bought the apartment in St Cyprien-Plage. Since then, my husband and I have spent have spent many many happy holidays there, enjoying the peace and relaxation, along with the superb food and wine of the region. Every season has its particular magic. Plus I feel the region has something for everyone. I’ve had happy stays there with girlfriends too when we’ve enjoyed the beaches, the shopping (particularly the shoe shops in Perpignan!) and the fine dining - in between the nattering. It’s an area that enjoys superb weather and offers so many things to do - whether you’re a golfer, water sports fan, cyclist, walker, or simply enjoy good beaches, good food and relaxation, Pyrenees Orientales has something for everyone. And St Cyprien-Plage makes an ideal base to enjoy whatever holiday you fancy. Bonnes vacances!!

Why Jane B chose Saint-Cyprien Plage
The choice of the Languedoc and in particular, the southernmost area of France was easy. The weather boasts 300 sunny days per year and the region offers so many contrasts. Coast and countryside, history and heritage, mountains and vineyards and also the proximity to Spain. I wanted to choose somewhere where there would be an inexhaustible list of things to do as I knew I would be visiting many many times. For me, St Cyprien-Plage ticked all the boxes. A quiet relaxing location, but near to beaches, local shops, bars and restaurants and a great base for any kind of holiday all year round.
What makes this Apartment unique
It was the view that sold it to me. I can sit on the balcony for hours just enjoying the peace and tranquility, watching the occasional boat arriving or departing. It's also a very cosy apartment in the winter - and I have visited during every month of the year. I also wanted to find somewhere that had its own designated parking space and be near to everything any holidaymaker requires, i.e. beaches, shops and restaurants.

Well equipped apartment with lovely outlook
The apartment is well equipped and has a lovely view of of lagoon. It is also just a few minutes walk from the local shops and restaurants, including a supermarket.
Most people will rent a car (and there is a reserved parking space), but it is worth knowing that the area is very cycle friendly (flat and lots of cycle paths) and there is a useful local bus service (1 euro per trip) with stops at either end of the road. Ideal for a relaxing holiday, access to the beaches or exploring the area.
Bijou but we'll equipped
Although very bijou, it had everything needed for a comfortable stay. It was a delight to sit on the balcony having lunch, people watching and looking at the boats. A lovely area.
Pretty and comfortable apartment with gr8 views.
We loved our stay at St Cyp. The apartment is very well appointed and has a lovely balcony which overlooks the little harbour. It is close to the beaches, has a good selection of local shops and is just a short drive from Perpignan and Spain. We have already booked another week in September.
Comfortable, Relaxing Holiday
We found the flat with no difficulty despite arriving in the dark after an evening flight. The property was very clean and comfortable for the two of us with every amenity and equipment you could need. The owner had provided a lot of information about the locality, i.e. where the shops were, places of interest etc. Would thoroughly recommend visiting Collioure down the coast and Carcassone, though a bit of a distance, was fabulous. The market in St Cyprien is a must. A very relaxing stay and I would thoroughly recommend it.
St Cyprien-Plage provides a great base for all kinds of holidays. During the summer, the 100 miles of sandy beaches, a variety of water sports and boat trips are to be enjoyed. All year round you'll find some wonderful places to visit including stunning Collioure with its famous artistic connection , historic Carcassonne, scene of many Hollywood films and the lovely city of Perpignan with great shopping in its old quarter. Everywhere you will find great restaurants and bars, art galleries, vineyards.
