About Page Patterson

The owner Tad is a film maker and travels the world making films often of indigenous cultures. Tad knows the high mountains of the Himalayas & Andes, has knowledge of the high mountain people of the globe.

Page Patterson purchased this cabin in 1991

Why Page Patterson chose New Mexico

This place was bought as a ski cabin but most importantly as a retreat space. Yoga & Meditation are an integral part of this space as are sun light, vistas & warmth from the wood stove.

What makes this cabin unique

I am the property manager lucky enough to manage this special place. There is a peace and serenity here that I rarely find in properties. Also there is a sense of welcome here. The owner wants others to benefit from and enjoy this mountain abode.

Perfect mountain cabin get away

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were in the area for a weekend of hiking and this rental worked perfectly for us. The cabin is in the ski valley but nicely away from the main area so you get even more privacy and feel closer to the nature which is literally all around you. The cabin was quaint, comfortable and a great respite from our daily adventures.

Wow

  • 5 of 5

I'd like to say that this place is horrible... So that you won't rent it when I want to be here. This place is amazing! It is beautiful, peaceful, and just what a person needs to get away. Now, believe them when they say there are 83 steps. Please don't bring a suitcase. Also, be able to drive a small mountain road if you stay here. Otherwise... come. The peacefulness is indescribable. Page, the property manager is AWESOME!!!

Mini temple at 10,000 feet.

  • 5 of 5

As a mountain runner and artist this cabin perched high above the Taos Ski Valley was not only a perfect fit, it was also a place that prompted a lot of deeper reflection. The owner has left many embers of change for you to take up, from the extensive book collection of subjects of art, cultures, philosophy, and adventure, to the various locations to meditate and reflect on your inner self and the vast world outside of yourself. We used the cabin to acclimate then set off for all the amazing local trails and climbs, all within a warm up run or quick drive. If the outdoors is your thing, you'll not want to miss Wheeler Peak (13,161 feet), The Bull of the Woods trail network (just up the hill from the cabin) or just exploring the abandoned mine site, accessible via a trail just feet from the deck. The host has provided a humidifier, portable heater, and all the essentials you'll need to keep cozy as you take in this unique setting. We'll be coming back for sure.

This is a spectacular place and guests need to be 100% SELF RELIANT.
4 wheel drive in winter is REQUIRED.
It is dangerous for others in the area and selfish if you decide to just go for it with out, you will then be dependent on others to rescue you and or your car - this is UNACCEPTABLE.
