Estrella del Mar, Unit 203, is an amazing two bedroom two bathroom condominium in the wonderfully upscale neighborhood of Amapas, just above Old Town and only 4 minutes from the famous Los Muertos beach and all of the restaurants an art galleries that make Puerto Vallarta famous.
This luxurious, fully equipped condominium features over 1,500 square feet of inside and outside living space and is tastefully furnished, inside and out. The fully equipped kitchen features a full size range, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, disposal and all the other kitchen amenities you could want. The new full-size, high-efficiency washer and dryer in the attached utility room are always available for your use.
The living room features a large sofa and love seat with a side chair, flat-screen TV and also includes a dining room table with seating for four.
The bedrooms, both with newly remodeled en-suite bathrooms, feature king-size beds. The master bedroom, with its own TV, opens onto a fully covered completely private terrace that features a full 180 degree view of the Bay of Banderas. Additionally, the terrace features a dining table with seating for six, lounge chairs and patio chairs with a cocktail table and a full size gas barbecue grill for your unlimited grilling.
Other features of the condo include separate air conditioning units in the living room and both bedrooms, cable TV, telephone for local calls, a closet safe, iron and ironing board, and unlimited sheets and towels.
The gorgeous heated swimming pool has stunning views of the bay, is well-kept, and has lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas available for your days in the sun or evenings under the stars.
The well-maintained building has security gates and cameras, an elevator, an intercom system, and a dedicated parking space for each condo. Additionally, complimentary maid service is provided once a week.
The location of the building is ideal, since you are close enough to walk to everything, yet just far enough away from it all to be peaceful and relaxing. Taxis are plentiful and cheap and are always available to take you anywhere you wish to go.

The owner is a CPA in Houston who currently is in private practice and currently serves as treasurer of his neighborhood civic club and has previously served on his homeowners' association board. This property was purchased for several reasons. Its wonderful location is close to everything in Old Town, it is not subject to the nightly noise from the Old Town bars, and it is in a very upscale neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta. The condominium building is an upscale private residence with several permanent residents and a strong home owners association. As such, it does not have a hotel feel nor does it have the unruly guest issues of a hotel or cheap condo complex.
The terrace is expansive and is the main reason this property was purchased. The view of the Bay of Banderas is wonderful and you are completely secluded. The bathrooms were completely remodeled in summer 2014. The terrace furniture, the refrigerator, washer & dryer, and the dishwasher are all new.
The private stairs behind the condo near the pool provide a quick exit from the building without walking down the street to the main road. After crossing the road, another set of stairs next to another condo building leads you directly to Los Muertos Beach and Old Town. Taxis can always be found at the bottom of the stairs.
We stayed two couples at the condo and really enjoyed our vacations. Everything was fine and the apartment is well furnished and equipped (even olive oil and vinegar...). The only thing that was missing were the cooking tools for the BBQ. But we managed to cook delicious red snappers and shrimps. The playa is only 5 minutes walk down the stairs and just a little bit of effort to climb on our way back.
Thanks to Jerry we don't hesitate to recommend it. Did I miss to mention the ocean view ?
First, the owner, Jerry, is beyond great and is very responsive to questions. We stayed 9 nights and really enjoyed the unit. It's a good layout and seems larger than its square footage. We would readily stay here again and it would be great for a long term stay...it's much like a home. Very close to old town, aka romantic zone, and it can be walked if you don't mind lots of stairs. The veranda is extra deep and we ended up sitting out there quite a bit enjoying the view. We didn't do any real cooking but had snacks, drinks, coffee and light breakfast. You could prepare a full meal in the well equipped kitchen. Big grill on veranda along with 8 person round table. The television programming is quite good - the menu is in Spanish but many of those channels are in English. Do want to mention that you need to go up or down a half flight of stairs to get to the elevator to get down to the unit or up to the main door. Not an issue at all for us but potentially an issue for someone who needs super easy access. Thanks, Jerry!
Within 5 minutes of arrival we felt comfortably "at home." The management company is top notch--something we are not always used to in Mexico. Clean and well appointed condo. Well-lit staircase to the highway and with a flashlight we did not cross the highway at night but waited a few minutes and a taxi would always arrive to take us to town for $50 pesos and back for the same rate to the front door---great deal. We did cross the highway and took the stairs during the day but in retrospect probably would have taken a bus or taxi because it was so hot at the time we were there. Very nice pool and condo community. Clean, safe, filtered water a plus, private, quiet, well appointed, comfortable--it's all we look for and definitely would stay again. Thanks, Jerry
We stayed two weeks in April 2016. The condo is clean and very comfortable. The view is fantastic and the balcony is very spacious and completely furnished. Jerry the owner is very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. The building, pool area and grounds are very well cared for and secure. My wife and I look forward to the next visit hopefully for a month or so.
We have been to Vallarta many times, stayed at several condos and hotels this property is one of our favorites. Can't wait to go back!
We've been coming to Puerto Vallarta for years but have never stayed at the southern end of town. Jerry's condo looked appealing during our on-line research since we like smaller buildings with good amenities, in a great location. The unit delivered on our expectations!
The condo's hillside location in Amapas provides great views of Bahía de Banderas from the large and private terrace. We practically lived on that terrace during our two weeks in Puerto Vallarta! The interior of the unit is very nicely decorated and well laid-out. Appliances, A/C and TV all worked fine although we never really needed air conditioning while there. The building is well cared for - grounds and pool are great. The owner community obviously "cares" about their homes here. Two couples or a family of four should find this an ideal home away from home.
As noted elsewhere the walk down to the beach, restaurants and shopping in the Old Town is a quick five minutes or so. The return walk up to the condo did take longer but a taxi option for 50/60 pesos was always available if we weren't feeling like we needed the exercise. It was always great to get back to the terrace views and a cool beverage!
We truly enjoyed our two weeks in PVR and this condo played a large part in that. I don't have any reservations about recommending Estrella Del Mar No.203 and hope to return!
The only reason this property doesn't get 5 stars is because there is always room for improvement, however the view from the gorgeous terrace is 5 star! The condo has a great layout for either 2 or 4 people. It is spacious and has all household necessities. I was a little apprehensive regarding the walk to the beach or town but it was quite easy due to the stairs from the pool deck to the highway. Once there, numerous options were available, walk on the shoulder of the road, stairs or finicular at Pinnacle. We spent 10 weeks at this condo so we cooked in a lot . Everything we needed including a great BBQ was available. Grocery store, fish and veg/fruit market within walking distance. If Costco or Walmart is your preference, a bus or taxi is easy to get and extremely cheap. There are also numerous excellent restaurants within walking distance as well. We are all about the outdoor space and this condo had it all.....fantastic terrace equipped with table for dining, loungers for relaxing and 2 chairs. The pool is kept warm and thanks to Rudolpho very clean, as is the entire building. There are several permanent residents in the building who are happy to recommend restaurants and excursions and just chat with you poolside. Jerry, the owner gets a 5 star. He made our stay the best VRBO experience to date! We would highly recommend this condo.
