Good stay at a well equipped cottage.
Cottage has been brought up to modern standards but not lost it’s character. However it is let down by the ground floor not having a thorough clean in places. Recycling arrangements were confusing with no green sack or bin available. Owners we’re quick to replace a broken appliance. Location is close to a beach and nearby coastal villages.
A lovely cottage in a beautiful place
Thank you for your 5 star review of The Cottage.
We are glad that you enjoyed your accommodation and the lovely village of Branscombe.

Great location, shame it has not garden, parking can be a pain.
Nice cosy cottage ideal for the pub, 10 minuets walk to beach. No where to dry wet clothes or dog, as no outside space.
Tired and datedthe DVD on the television was broken and swallowed the disc also no hot shower.
The DVD in the TV was broken and 'swallowed' the DVD.Serious lack of hot water for showering for 2 adults and a child - cold very -quickly. The condition of the property at the rear was dirty and unkempt. A garden was advertised but it turned out to be a shared small patch of overgrown grass between adjacent neighbours - also some dirty guinea pigs in a hutch with run. The outlook from the upstairs windows was of dustbins and rubbish.
Not the standard we would have expected for the price.
Cottage clean but felt damp and unaired when we arrived. Despite opening windows as much as possible still felt damp when we left and we were unable to get washed clothes dry enough to wear. One broken light. Had to descale shower head to get a decent shower. Kitchen cupboards very untidy inside. Towels supplied not nice.
Beautiful unspoilt part of the world!
The cottage is in a lovely location. Branscombe village itself is very quiet- no shops, only 2 pubs and a bakery/tearoom opposite the forge.
The beach (just a 10 minute walk away) is beautiful-even more so on a sunny day.
The cottage was clean and tidy-had everything you need-apart from internet/wifi which I hadn’t realised until we arrived. (However, if needed you can access this from the pub just across the road.)
Accommodation is adequate, but in my opinion, in need of some TLC. A couple of points I feel need mentioning are:
The strong smell of damp/mustiness which is very noticeable as soon as you open the front door.
The midges who bombard the place. There is a stream right opposite so that could be the reason they’ve settled there. Because we were plagued by them, we were unable to have the door and windows open so therefore the cottage couldn’t be aired properly consequently the damp smell was ever present.
