Family Home Away From Home for Graduation

  • 5 of 5

Ten of us traveled from Texas to Chapel Hill for our daughter's graduation from UNC. We rented this house and the Modern Cabin across the street. Both properties were beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, exceptionally well equipped and so very comfortable!! The location is stellar - close enough to the heart of Chapel Hill but so quiet and peaceful. The owner, Jim, is responsive and amenable. If only all VRBOs were like this one!

No more hotels for me!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in this property. Very private, very quiet and impeccably clean! This properties had all the comforts of home. The arrangements and payments were easy and seamless. Informational sheets were provided that outlined every detail and enabled us to have an very enjoyable stay with no problems at all. Who needs a concierge??!!

I wish we could have stayed longer!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house while in town for a wedding, and it was wonderful to be able to have multiple family members from around the country staying together. With a house and yard rather than a hotel, we were able to enjoy lots of time together, but still all have our own space and privacy when needed.

In addition to all of the lovely features that you can see in the listing pictures, there were many small touches which made our stay more pleasant; like the USB outlet in the kitchen which allowed those of us who forgot the "block" that goes with the USB charger for phones etc. to charge our devices easily, and the dog bowls provided in the pantry, for those of us traveling with 4 legged family members (to name just a few).

The house was comfortable, clean, and well organized. The large screen TVs were great, and so was the shelf full of books for those of us not interested in TV. The securely fenced yard was a godsend as we were traveling with dogs who enjoy their outdoor play time, and the deck with it's table and chairs provided a great place to hang out while the dogs played.

The location was fantastic; quiet and peaceful, with lovely views out of all of the windows, but still close to pretty much every convenience - grocery stores, restaurants, etc.

I wish we'd had a longer stay, and time to take advantage of more of what the house and the area have to offer. We never got the chance to fire up the grill, or take the walks in the woods we had planned. My daughter said she wished that we could buy the house and stay forever...and I have to say, I think she had the right idea!

"I love this house. It's perfect. I never want to leave!"

  • 5 of 5

Those are the words of our three year old grandson! Our multi-generational family rented this house and the one across the street owned by the same person. We were in town for a family wedding at Snipe's Farm, which is just a couple of minutes down the road. Jim (owner) was helpful during the rental process when I had questions, and checked in with us the day before we arrived to go over any last minute needs. The houses are really lovely - comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchens and great outdoor spaces. The location was perfect for the wedding, but also for the rehearsal dinner in Carrhoro. The grocery store is a short drive away, and then you get to return to these peaceful homes in the woods. We would recommend either house or both to anyone coming to the area. If you're scrolling through looking at places to rent, just stop right here. You found it!

Owner's Response: I guess we can't put it better than a child's words. I'm glad you enjoyed our attention to the details that make for a special getaway, especially when taking advantage of the "family compound" straddling the lane.
