This newly constructed 700 sq. ft. cottage is located on Anastasia Island in historic St. Augustine, Fl. The Middleton Guest Cottage is a charming bungalow nestled among live oaks on a unique piece of property just steps from the 1874 St. Augustine Lighthouse.
The Middleton Guest Cottage was rebuilt on the original location of a beach cottage owned by the Middleton family since the early 1900's. The current owners have lovingly restored the circa 1904 main house on the property and reconstructed the cottage to accommodate seasonal renters.
The interior is cottage style and consists of wood floors and bead board walls .

We look forward to meeting you and hope to make your stay a memorable one.
We first came to St. Augustine in 1994 when our son attended Flagler College. We were so impressed with the area that we moved here in 2004. Building and restoration have always been a part of our lives. We feel fortunate to have been able to purchase this unique piece of property owned by 3 generations of the Middleton family and restored it to its original beach cottage style.
This unique piece of property lies in the shadow of the lighthouse and is situated on a quiet dead end street lined with beautiful hundred year old live oaks . We love living where all the amenities of this island are within walking or biking distance and still only 10 minutes to downtown St. Augustine. At Christmas time downtown is lit up like a fairyland with all the holiday glitz. The tree lighting ceremony , Christmas parade, Holly Jolly trolley, boat parade and much more. 2015 brings us to the 450th birthday of St. Augustine which promises to be a year filled with celebration!
We just got back from our visit to St Augustine and the whole way home we talked about when to return. We loved visiting St Augustine but we just adored the cottage, its location and the hosts Nancy and Steve. From the moment we arrived it was like being welcomed home. Once inside, it's just so cozy , comfortable and perfect for 2 people. As far as the area, this quaint, quiet, residential neighborhood was the perfect location for us. We walked to everything. Over the bridge into town, to the lighthouse and to some great restaurants. Can't wait to return.
Thank you Nancy and Steve for sharing this gem with us.
The property is located in a very quaint area that lends itself to privacy and relaxation. The home is very well maintained both inside and out. The kitchen has everything one may need. We felt that the owners were very kind and accommodating. It was necessary to drive to attractions but the drive was short.
My wife and I love this cottage...it is perfect for 2.
One of our favorite places to stay when we visit St Augustine :-)
This cottage was a great relaxing place to stay...so cute, close to downtown St. Augustine and beach (go to the State Park beach there is an admission but well worth it) the cottage was tucked away in a nice historic neighborhood and just a short walk to the water and lighthouse. The owners Nancy and Steve were awesome and lived right next door and was there if you needed anything. Nancy recommended great restaurants. Thanks Nancy for your recommendation for the best Prime Rib for our Anniversary and for the yummy banana bread. Stay here you won't be disappointed!
This little cottage was perfect for a quiet island stop between two conferences. Great location, clean, charming and wonderful owners who made sure I was comfortable. I wish I could've done more in my short stay (including hopping on one of the bikes available) but will simply add that to my wish list for my next stay. I've already recommended this location to a few friends and would stay again anytime my travels take me near St. Augustine.
Our Stay at this cottage, "In The Shadow Of The Lighthouse", could not have been better in anyway. Nancy and Steve have thought of everything to make this
lovely "home, away from home", enjoyable and accommodating. It's decorated beautifully with quality furnishings and the deck and fenced in private yard are
so welcoming with the big live oak providing the perfect shade for an afternoon nap.
The Bicycles were a favorite for us. We especially enjoyed being able to ride them over to take our tour of the lighthouse, and the Anastasia State Park.
Of course, downtown St Augustine is just charming, and beautiful and it was nice to be staying in a place that you could just zip right over the bridge
for an evening on the town.
The beaches are wonderful, and Nancy, we loved the "Beachcomber" restaurant that you recommended! We got to park on the beach, eat, lounge in the sun, pick our chairs up and toss them in the back and keep on trucking! (my husbands favorite part of our trip). Truly a carefree experience!
I will finish by saying, "In The Shadow Of The Lighthouse" is by far my favorite vacation ever! We will return, and I plan to make it soon!
Thank you Nancy and Steve for a memorable, lovely stay at your cozy cottage.
