Wonderful, relaxing cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a great long weekend here. S'mores outside every night, our kids ran around and our dogs were able to run off leash and check out the property. The bedrooms were very, very comfortable and Jen, the caretaker, was just down the road and was available to answer any questions we had. We had a fantastic time!

Cool home away in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

We used this home over the past weekend for a work planning getaway. Perfect for the occasion. Clean and cozy, and enough space for private time as needed among 4 adults. Basketball court is great for a game, fire pit and chimenia inviting, hot tub and grill both work! Property manager was sweet and attentive as needed (they live in the house next door near the property).

Bears do live nearby... bring a whistle and a flashlight if you're outside at night.

Secluded upscale mountain retreat

  • 5 of 5

We just finished a 3 week stay at this beautiful upscale home. It is fully equipped and very comfortable. The backyard deck is a great place to hang out and grill dinner and just enjoy nature. You truly feel like you are on vacation in this setting. Perfect place to relax in comfort. The secluded location makes driving interesting. It is located 8 miles up highway 9 which is a winding mountain road. The drive to downtown Black Mountain takes 15-20 minutes due to the location, so you can't just run into town for milk! Once you are in downtown, the drive to Asheville is only 15 minutes. You are also only 20 minutes from the Chimney Rock/Lake Lure area, so it is a convenient location. The house is dog friendly and our dog was very comfortable here. The House Caretaker lives right next door which was extremely helpful. Anything we needed she was able to take care of right away & there are huge trees that separate the 2 homes, so you really don't even know someone lives next door. The Straightaway Cafe is a great restaurant located only about 2 miles down the mountain - terrific food and live music almost every night. Everyone in Black Mountain is so friendly and it is the cutest town. We hope to move there one day! We loved everything about this home except for the drive on the winding mountain road to get to it, although staying in this amazing home was worth the drive!
