About Alison Gillespie

We purchased our Charlevoix home after years of enjoying Charlevoix and the surrounding areas. We grew up in Charlevoix and Horton Bay and continue to love spending time in the area. We love playing beach volleyball, snorkeling in Lake Michigan, swimming all the time, paddle boarding, kayaking, running wooded trails and boating with friends. The slow-paced, carefree Charlevoix lifestyle brings peace to our minds. We look forward to hearing about how Charlevoix renewed your soul and offered you a perfect Up North, Pure Michigan Vacation!!

What makes this house unique

The location of our home is wonderful and truly unbeatable. We enjoy walking out the front door and walking into a coffee shop less than three minutes later. Our cozy home is full of character and functions best when full of friends and family who simply want to spend quality time together.

Once again, had a great stay!

  • 5 of 5

Decided to head back to Charlevoix for some Fall colors and to relax after our son's wedding. We are SO HAPPY that we did. The house was warm and welcoming. Alison is excellent to work with. We truly have fallen in love with Charlevoix and this house. Felt like we were at home.

Great location

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this clean and comfortable village home. It's located close enough to walk to shops and dining in town. The 4 bed , 3 bath home had ample space for our group of 6 adults. The living and dining rooms were surprising large. Word of caution for those with disabilities That the stairs are very steep and narrow. The home was very clean and was well stocked with special attention to details. We would have been able to enjoy the outdoors more if there was a covered or enclosed porch.

Perfect Downtown Charlevoix Stay

  • 5 of 5

Not only was the house beautiful and perfectly situated for walking downtown, the owners had everything you could think of at the house. They were extremely organized and made everything so easy. The book they left us had a lot of information about the house and activities, places to visit, etc. We had 7 adults and 2 children and we were all very comfortable. We already have plans to go back next year!

A Great Home Away From Home!

  • 5 of 5

Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc ? Yes, we had everything we needed.

Was the property clean and well-maintained ? Yes

Did the owner provide good customer service ? Yes Yes!

Would you recommend this property to your friends or relatives ? NO...so I don't have to compete for a future date... but Yes!

What activities, attractions and restaurants did you like or dislike near by. This house is only two blocks from the water front park, marina, concert pavilion, dining, a grocery store, and inlet beach.

This home was as good if not better than expected, and the owner was more than gracious, especially through out the rental process and in sending a few items we left behind.

Though it was nice to have one on one contact with the owner for some of my questions and concerns, be sure to visit your VRBO account for updates and messages not just in your personal email.

We love Charlevoix!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to Charlevoix and we are hooked! I cannot say enough about this little town. We arrived to this charming home to be welcomed by "Made in Michigan" gifts from the owners. The house is fully stocked with the essentials. (Towels, toiletries, dishes, bedding, etc...) Very clean and well kept. Cannot say enough about the location. Walking distance to beaches, stores, harbor, restaurants, etc... Quiet, peaceful neighborhood. It was just my husband and myself for the first part of the week, then our children arrived and we still had plenty of room for everyone. Beds are so comfortable, slept like a baby. Loved having a washer/dryer available to use. Allison has thought of everything we need to make our stay fabulous! We will be renting this "gem" again!

Located downtown Charlevoix, 0.5 miles from the City of Charlevoix waterfront East Park. Enjoy a grassy, waterfront lawn overlooking the Round Lake marina that is across the street from all the shops and restaurants Charlevoix has to offer. Music in the Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays floods the Pavilion Band Shell (or just listen from the deck at home!) Kids will enjoy the Splash Pad and adults will enjoy views of Round Lake. Again, this multifunctional area is less than a half mile from 3 Lakes Vacation Home!

Three PUBLIC beaches (Ferry Beach, Lake Michigan Beach and Depot Beach) are all close by ready for sunbathing, beach volleyball, paddle boarding, and swimming. Fisherman's Island State Park is only 7 miles away and offers all kinds of activities for the Nature Lover. Not to brag, but Lake Charlevoix was rated the 2nd best lake in the US by USA Today (Lake Tahoe was #1)!

Whether you're looking for a beach vacation, a culinary and shopping experience, a family getaway, a ski weekend or you want to do a little of everything, Charlevoix and surrounding Northern Michigan towns will offer an affordable retreat for you, family and/ or friends!
