Located on a beautiful sand beach on Flanders Pond in Sullivan, Maine, walking distance to Down East Sunrise Trail and beautiful mountains with hiking trails. Great fishing! 45 minutes from Acadia National Park. Available May through October. We have a wonderful sandy beach that begins very shallow, very nice for young children. Canoe and kayaks are available for use. You do have to slightly rough it a bit with a porta potty located 20 feet from the cottage and an outdoor private hot shower that everyone loves. In addition to satellite TV, we have a DVD player with movies. We also have a radio/CD player. Kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, cookware and dining ware. An outside Weber gas grill is provided. We provide bed linens, bathing towels, and basic cleaning supplies. Bedroom #1 has a full size bed. Bedroom #2 has two twin size beds. There is a futon in the sunroom that folds out to a queen size bed. Cottage is only 30' from the pond.
Bob and Donna have owned properties on Flanders Pond since 1995. Trails End Cottage is next to the summer cottage they reside in so they are nearby should you have any questions about the premises or the area. Their main residence is only 20 minutes away.
Bob Jancewicz purchased this cottage in 2010
Trails End Cottage is in a quiet, secluded area on a beautiful sand beach on Flanders Pond. Great fishing, hiking, biking, wildlife and more.
Step out your door onto the beach. Water is 30 feet from the Cottage. Daily views of Bald Eagles and Loons. An 80 mile long trail perfect for ATVs and Schoodic Mountain are within walking distance.
We stayed at Trails End ( The Bunkhouse ) . The beach was great, accommodations very clean and adequate. Appliances are all new. The view from the Bunkhouse is great, only 50' from the water. We climbed Schoodic mountain. it was about 3 1/2 hours and not a hard hike. Views where spectacular ! Bob and Donna where great hosts. They were there when we arrived and went over everything. Be sure to take advantage of their offer of a pontoon boat ride and margarita's ! Unbelievable ! The port-a-potty was ok. It is what it is. We received our security depositback very quickly. We would recommend it to your friends. Thanks Bob & Donna !!!!!
We had so much fun! Awesome location, the lake is so pretty and very peaceful with lots of wildlife to watch, we loved the loons and bald eagles! The cabin was comfy and I must say, the outdoor shower is very refreshing! Bob is an excellent host and we felt very welcomed and our dog loved staying there too! The surrounding area is beautiful as well with lots to do and explore! We would definitely go back!
The property was exactly as described. It was lovely to have fresh flowers on our arrival and a few essentials, such as coffee! The cottage is literally yards from the lake, which was beautiful at all hours of the day, but especially first thing in the morning! The spring water was delicious and the hot shower very welcoming after a long day hiking in Acadia. We generally don't go back to places (so many new places to see), but if we came to Maine again, this would definitely be somewhere we would stay again!
We are a family of four (with 2 boys, 3 and 6 years old) and we stayed for four nights at Trail's End Cottage in August 2016. Our stay was fantastic. The cabin is exactly as described, just a few meters from the water. The cabin was comfortable (including the outdoor shower !) and we really enjoyed swimming in the lake (the water was indeed pretty warm, much more than the ocean !), the canoe and the kayak. Bob is a wonderful host, he came to see us twice to check if everything was OK, he took us for a boat ride on the lake, and even gave our kids the chance to ride (with him !) a jetski. We very strongly recommend this place and we look forward to coming back.
Two adults, four children and a dog all stayed here for a week. It was the perfect getaway with the beach right out the front door. Far enough away from the city but close enough to make trips to the grocery store. We enjoyed a fire every evening and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. We enjoyed kayaking around the pond and watching the wildlife, loons and bald eagles. The owners were very hospitable and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed.
The property was quiet and beautiful. We stayed during the week and had total privacy. I would go back in a heartbeat.
