Halibut cove is a little jewel tucked away in Alaska's first state park, Kachemak Bay state park. The park area is 400,000 acres of mountains, glaciers, forests, coastline and ocean. Visitors frequently observe sea otters, harbor seals, porpoise and a variety of whale species. Halibut Cove welcomes many visitors each and every year, but at the same time makes every effort to ensure Halibut Cove remains the beautiful, quiet paradise it has become famous for. There are no shops or grocery stores in Halibut Cove. All food and drinks must be purchased and brought over from Homer. To get to & from Halibut Cove you must take a Water Taxi. There are several that operate out of Homer. We recommend: Sea Homer, with Captain Charlie 907-756-1973. There are no boats once you get to Halibut Cove. The only boats out there are the owners private boats. The owners also have kayaks that are often available to guests when their family is not using them.
