About Tony and Caroline
After purchasing the property at the end of 2014 we enjoyed starting our new venture in holiday rentals and have just become members of Owners Direct in March 2016. We believe every one taking a break away from their busy life styles deserves only the best. We love to travel here in the UK, Europe and even further afield and part of the fun is staying in different and varied accommodation all over the world. We know what we expect when visiting various areas and aim to exceed our expectations here at Woodlands. Our families are growing bigger and bigger. We have five lovely grown up children and their spouses and five gorgeous grandchildren and love spending time with them all. I am a qualified nurse and work with children with neuro-developmental disabilities and their families in the community. Tony runs an IT company. Our life motto is: If a job is worth doing it's worth doing properly.
Why Tony and Caroline chose Yalding
We like to offer a warm welcome and present the cottages and gardens in such a way you can relax immediately, enjoying the home comforts we all love, with a little sense of adventure as you explore the gardens, play a little tennis, possibly sit on the south facing balcony and enjoy a glass of wine and a BBQ overlooking the gardens. It's easy to discover the abundant delights of Kent, better known locally as The Garden of England.
What makes this Bungalow unique
Although the cottage is in a rural location it is only a short walk to the beautiful village of Yalding with all it's attractions. As well as beautiful countryside on your doorstep there is also easy access to London, the coast, Royal Tunbridge Wells and Canterbury with it's amazing cathedral.

Extremely comfortable in a beautiful setting
Lavender Cottage is very well equipped, smartly decorated and a very comfortable place for a vacation. The owners have gone out of their way to make it welcoming, and the entire rental process was professional and completely uneventful.
The location is gorgeous and encourages one to take advantage of the veranda for meals.
We would have no hesitation in renting again if we had the opportunity to stay in the area again.
A fantastic holiday
We stayed for 5 nights and we had a lovely time. The house were perfect, the garden so lovely and it was nice to practise some tennis. We enjoyed the countryside and just the silent being in the countryside.
I can so recommend the property and we will definitely stay there again.
Thank you, Tony and Caroline for being so kind and for having us to stay.
great family place for a relaxing country holiday
the place was lovely and the the gardens were great too, the owners are kind too, as is a shared garden with the owners, they were having a family celebration and there guests had children who where very friendly and played with out kids,
there are only two faults with the place, no slip mats in the showers so dangerous and no rail on the outside stairs which are dangerous for a child and elderly holiday makers, also listed as wheelchair friendly you would struggle getting to the garden in the chair but everything in the house was usable if in a chair.
i would defiantly stay here again
Hi We are sorry that you did not see the slip mats which were under the sinks in the bathrooms. I apologise for not pointing it out when I showed you around.Thank you for the feedback
Good facilities and nicely maintained, comfortable cottage
We, 3 generations, have spent 3 nights at the Lavender cottage for mother's 92th birthday, the owner not only supplied a very thoughtful welcome pack which contains milk, bread, butter, a nice bottle of white wine and a large bottle of home-made very delicious apple juice but also warmly introduced the cottage and the local services.
It was a pleasant short stay and can play tennis there with children was an enhanced leisure, the cottage located in a quiet area, nice to hear more birds singing in the early morning, the cottage is very close to a teapot exhibition that has collected 8000 different designed pieces from the world.
The owner is very helpful and communicated very well with us for answering our enquiries also the cottage facilities are excellent and convenient. We have recommended this lovely cottage to our friends.
Perfect & comfortable days at a lovely cottage.
We felt home & comfortable at the wonderful cottage. Modern kitchen & barhrooms, a cosy living room, very friendly host, a great garden. Perfect spot to relax & discover beautiful Kent and the Southeast (White Cliffs at Dover, Canterbury, Bodiam Castle and so on).
For a person in a wheelchair only with a assistant person useable (Entrance, terrace), the house itself is on one level with enough space for the wheelchair.
Thank you Bjorn for your kind words. Also thank you for leaving the cottage in great shape. You will be most welcome any time.

Heerlijke vakantiewoning in Yalding
Groetjes fam. Huisman, Alblasserdam
Being in the heart of Kent provides most beautiful countryside with a variety of footpaths in abundance.
We are fortunate to be located only short drives from many outstanding National Trust properties.
Royal Tunbridge Wells and Canterbury are beautiful places to explore and maybe indulge in a little retail therapy.
The children love to explore and play in the acres of garden accessed immediately from the cottage.
Beltring Hop Farm where you can enjoy lots of family fun is only 2 miles away.
Yalding boasts a beautiful medieval bridge and is the point where three rivers meet. Hours of fun and relaxing can be had on the river banks.
Hot air balloon rides can be booked in advance, flying from the nearby village of Laddingford.
In Yalding village you have the choice of visiting 3 pubs, Indian restaurant which does takeaways, lovely tearooms, hair and beauty salon, library, iron forge, library, beautiful 13th century church, a village shop and 'Teapot Island'.
Once a month Yalding holds a farmers market when local produce is sold. It is attended by locals and visitors from further afield.
