About Silvia

We are a Germany-based family that lives in Florida only 2-3 months a year. We believe that our place is worth sharing. Our bilingual manager lives only a couple of blocks away, keeps the property permanently clean and in shape and helps you in having a great stay.

Silvia purchased this house in 1997

Why Silvia chose West Palm Beach

After my parents bought this house in 1997 and went back to Germany in 2010, i soon realized i wanted to keep it for several reasons. We don´t want to be locked up in a gated hotel/spa facility, we enjoy beaches and watersports as much as visiting a big city (Miami), or cultural events (Kravis Center, Harriet Himmel theater). Within 1 1/2 hours, you find everything for a perfect vacation, from a crowded NFL game to the quietness of the Everglades. The only thing you won´t find, of course, is snow.

What makes this house unique

This place lets you feel like a Florida resident, not a tourist. It is cozy and yet large enough for three couples or a family with several children. We always enjoyed the overall quietness and yet closeness to everything. The sound of morning doves in the early hours, the sound of a train in the distance, watching lizards getting tanned while getting tanned yourself in the pool. West Palm Beach downtown and city place (as well as Lake Worth and Boynton Beach further south) are offering a large variety of entertainment, gastronomy, leisure, and shopping - without ever getting too crowded.

C.M, from Ontario, Canada. Wonderful Month, would definitely come back!

Stayed for the month of March, with 5 grown kids, 1 7 month old grandchild for last week. Had a really GREAT time in this rental. Unfortunately 2 weeks before arrival I fractured my knee so was quite limited for first while with walking and transportation, so really appreciated that Publix was SO close. Great that it was a bungalow, with few stairs. Sylia, the manager was AMAZING. Nothing was too small for her to correct. Answers texts immediately, which is really appreciated. Pool heater put in 2 months previously, so pool was so very nice. Lots of outdoor space around pool, and as mentioned by others, always a shady and sunny spot as needed. Had my sister's family over for a BBQ, which totaled 12 people, easily accommodated outside with plenty of seating.

It was very close to many places. Whole Foods and Palm Outlets very close drive. Total Wines ( a must, particularly if you have 2 grown boys very much into Craft Beers, they were blown away by choices) and Gardens Mall a bit farther drive, but just off I-95. Close also for Spring Training Baseball, nice small venue off I-95 at 45th St. Airport super close.

Try to do the West Palm Beach Food tour early on in your stay, will set you up for the rest of the trip re food sources and restaurants. I have done many food tours in NA, and Europe and must say this was the best , with quantity of food served AND quality. Learned alot about history of WPB also. Guide was superb! Also, Greenacres Market, off Jog, from 10th street exit from I-95, about 20 minute drive, has SOO much produce, and amazing prices, well worth the drive, as food in Florida is expensive in bigger supermarkets. Really enjoyed this place, and location

A great place to stay

  • 4 of 5

The house was completely clean, something that is important to us. The house and contents are not new, but that did not matter to us. All came as promised.

The backyard is beautiful and private, with palm trees encircling the lot. You can find shade or you can find sun, whichever you prefer.

The neighbourhood is quiet and conveniently located to the Publix, the I-95 and to the beach (which is about a 10 to 15 minute drive). Very close to the West Palm Beach airport which is good for arriving and departing, but there is a steady traffic of planes overhead. The house is close to train tracks and there were trains all day and through the night. But we got used to these noises.

One minor quibble: At other places we have stayed, standard items have been supplied, such as toilet paper, soap, paper towels. We had to purchase these ourselves. I was even told that I was responsible for filling the propane tank on the grill if it ran out of gas, which I thought was asking too much.

Overall, we would highly recommend this place.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review we always welcome feedback to make our future guests stay even better. Our cleaning lady should always make sure that there are 2 kitchen paper rolls, bathroom tissue as well as hand soap available. In order to avoid any mishaps, I will make sure in the future that she will leave all necessary items for our guests. The gas grill is for free use, we do not control or count how often it is used. We like to encourage every guest when leaving to let us know that the gas tank is empty. The airport is about 3.5 miles away and planes usually fly a different route unless our President is in town then they unfortunately fly closer.

Awesome 45 days

  • 5 of 5

I had such a wonderful time visiting my 10 yr. old Granddaughter. I'm from California so I am always concerned renting online. Am I getting what I need, is the place listed with the amenities as stated. I was so impressed with this cozy, well stocked little cottage. If there was anything I needed or was concerned about Silvia was there in a heartbeat!! The Cable TV in the bedroom was freezing all the time and I called Silvia and she had the cable company on the phone and swapped out the defective Cable Box within 24 hours. Thank you again Silvia!! Anyone thinking about this rental, should realize you have found what your looking for. The home is an older little cottage layout with a fenced front and back yard which was so very nice for my little Shee-Poo!!! Definitely renting again!!! Probably in April. Thank you so very much Silvia - your are a perfect Hostess!!!!

Excellent and comfortable home

  • 5 of 5

We loved this home for our week vacation. The side bedroom with its own private bathroom, was nice for my husband & I, and our 5 mo baby. She could nap and be away from the noise of the house and the visiting outside. We spent alot of time outside playing board games and cards with the family, and we had plenty of space. We only wish the pool was heated, was a little too chilly beginning of March to enjoy.

Other than that, Sylvia dropped some washclothes and sponges at our door, after we had called her that there were none. Very nice property managers. Will definetly recommend staying here, and will come back soon!

Awesome vacation home.... Felt right at home

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful older home close to everything that made our family feel very comfortable and right at home. We had plenty of room for family BBQs and the cousins to spend the night. We did not even want to go to the beach as we had it all right here. Backyard is inviting with plenty of space for family and guests, beautifully surrounded with palms giving a very private feeling and pool was just perfect.

Sylvia was very helpful and always quick to respond from the first moment we inquired about the house. We would highly recommend this home away from home.

A Wonderful feel right at home....HOME!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a snooty, overly high priced scared to sit on the furniture because its to fancy kind of place, then this is NOT for you. If you are looking for a place that you can kick your shoes off and feel right at home from the second you walk in, with all the comforts of home...THEN YOU FOUND THE PLACE!!! This is in a older Florida neighborhood and close to what ever you need. The beach? The store? etc. We stayed 6 nights and enjoyed the home so much that we actually just wanted to hang out, grill, relax in the private back yard surrounded by the beautiful palms of Florida. all of us was comfortable, and comfortable enough to have the grandchildren come over and hang out with no worries of them ruining a 500.00 rug or sitting a drink on the table. I'm just trying to let you know that if you are a regular down to earth person...this is your place.!!! If you had a question all you had to do is pick up the phone and Sylva was there She lives in the same neighborhood and sincerely cares that your stay is the best. I Highly recommend this place for a home away from home vacation!!! P.S. I am a very picky person too, so for me to feel this good about a place means allot.
