About Two Casitas, Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, Wendy Kapp

A note from Wendy Kapp- Owner of Two Casitas Santa Fe Vacation Rentals

Having been raised in Chicago, my soul longed for the massive blue skies and mountains I first saw when my mother, well-known watercolor artist Phyllis Kapp of Waxlander Gallery, introduced me to this magnificent area when I was 6 years old.

While returning west in 1975, I came through Santa Fe and fell in love with Northern New Mexico once again. I found the people here, especially back in '75, to be the most authentic people I had ever met and I decided to make Santa Fe my home. My extensive knowledge from living here for since 1975 makes me the perfect, local hostess to give you tips on making your stay memorable. I hope you come to love Santa Fe and, in-turn Two Casitas, as much as I do.

Two Casitas, Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, Wendy Kapp purchased this house in 1999

Why Two Casitas, Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, Wendy Kapp chose Santa Fe

Location, location, location is why I chose these homes for our visitors. We want our guests to have the convenience of walking everywhere.

What makes this house unique

When you stay with Two Casitas you stay like a local, not like a tourist, and experience Santa Fe like you live here. Who knows, maybe you will someday!

Spacious yet strange floor plan

  • 3 of 5

This house is very quaint, with a typical pueblo- inspired style. However, the bedrooms and adjoining dining room/lounge all surround the kitchen. To get from the kitchen to the dining room, you need to enter through a bedroom. The layout is very strange. It's also more like a 10-12 minute walk to the plaza.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. I apologize that the home wasn't what you had expected. We always try to portray our homes accurately in our photographs and descriptions (we are currently working on getting pictures of the floor plans into all of our listings. This particular home was build one room at a time starting in the late 1800's so the design is a little bit unconventional. Part of the charm of this house is there was no master layout as the people build one room as they could afford it by baking adobe bricks. We apologize again if you feel as if that fact was not portrayed accurately in our listing. We do advertise that his home is about a 10-minute walk to the Plaza and a 5-minute walk to Canyon Road. We hope that despite your issues with the home that you had a wonderful time in Santa Fe, and we hope to see you here again some time soon.

Exquisite Adobe, Walking Distance of Everything!

  • 5 of 5

This was a fantastic home and location! There was a very nice, spacious backyard with plenty of seating. The hottub was great, a good place to relax in private. We loved the interior of the home, very authentic and charming- totally Santa Fe style. A few things came up throughout or stay and multiple people from the Two Casitas team helped us with everything, grade A service! All in all, we couldn't have had a better trip and we truly enjoyed the house, our stay, and exploring the city.

Great house - fantastic location, excellent staff

  • 5 of 5

We had a family weekend in the Mariposa and Zita house. We loved this authentic Santa Fe house. It was walking distance from the main plaza, as well as, many excellent galleries and restaurants. The staff was also excellent, ensuring that we had everything that we needed to make our stay pleasant. I would highly recommend this property for your next Santa Fe get away.

Excellent choice! Charming casita.

  • 5 of 5

Very charming casita in quiet neighborhood that was within walking distance to Canyon and the Plaza, just as promised. We enjoyed our morning coffee outside every morning on the private patio and finished our days in the hot tub before bed. Wendy and her staff were super friendly and professional. We will be back!

Authentic and Charming!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! Our last minute trip to Santa Fe turned out be to be the best trip we've had in a decade. We love Santa Fe and all of it's rich culture and charm. Mariposa embodies Santa Fe in many ways. It's located in a quiet neighborhood with a nice walk to the plaza and Canyon Road. It's a beautiful authentic adobe home - well maintained, clean and very comfortable. The back yard is tremendous! We spent almost every night in our yard enjoying our complimentary wine (thank you Two Casitas!) and if we weren't hanging in the yard, we were in the hot tub on a few crisp nights enjoying the open sky. Needless to say I slept like baby...and we booked a winter trip to Mariposa. Thank you Two Casitas for sharing your wonderful home with us! Cannot wait till we are back soon.

The place certainly didn't live up to the pictures and description on VRBO.

  • 1 of 5

We were very disappointed in the overall condition of the place. Many things broken and not working such as water in the shower in one bathrooms, a bathroom window facing the street was broken out and a white garbage bag held with bandaids what we had to look at . It looked very nice on VRBO but what we got didn't match what we thought we were getting.

We tried to find another place in Santa Fe but all were booked. This was our yearly girl's (women's) weekend and we had really hoped for better condition and cleaner.

I will say that Two Casitas, the rental company, was very nice and apologetic about our situation. I guess they should personally check out their properties more often and more closely.

It was probably walkable to Canyon Road but not to the Plaza.

Owner's Response: "Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We sincerely apologize for how you experienced the condition of the Mariposa house upon your arrival. Unfortunatly some repairs mentioned were not completed in the time frame or quality standard that we expected from the service provider. Because of this, we will no longer be working with said provider. Maintenance of all of our homes is extremely important to us and in this case some things were left undone that should have been attended to. Our guest experience is of the utmost importance to us and we take all feedback provided very seriously. We also want to insure accuracy in our listings and pictures and never feel we misrepresent a property. With that being said, Two Casitas wants to assure our future guests that the mentioned repairs have now all been taken care of. Sorry they were not for your trip. Thank you for helping us improve our guest experience"
