Callie Zak purchased this house in 2014
We chose to buy this house because of its fabulous location. On the golf course, walking distance to the lake and a short drive to Yosemite.
With the Hot Tub, Air Hockey, Ping Pong and on the golf course it can't get better than this! Well, unless you can walk to the beach... AND you can! We provide everything from linens to your guest pass at Pine Mt Lake. This house is fully loaded.
We've just stayed in Americana for a week again. The house is even better maintained compare to previous year. I'd give it the sixth star if I could! We are returning customers and would love to go there again.
I took my wife to this house for her birthday, along with her mother and my 2 year old son. It rained the entire time, which normally would have ruined a vacation. Instead, we enjoyed all the geese, deer, and other wildlife while we grilled and relaxed in a very cozy house. While we were dying to see Yosemite, we were totally fine with spending all 3 days at the house playing in the hot tub, visiting the lake, and teaching our son about the outdoors. The homeowners are very nice and answered 2 of my phone calls when I needed some help. Overall, great experience!

We stayed at the Americana Cabin as a retreat for my adult son's birthday. Our stay exceeded our expectations because of the many amenities available as part of the home and Pine Mountain Lake community. My son and I enjoyed a morning fishing on the lake in a rental from marina, and my son and daughter-in law found plenty to do with easy access to swimming beach, paddle boarding and horseback riding. All of us enjoyed using the hot tub, and he outside deck and BBQ with a view of the golf course. Home was very well equipped and very comfortable. Everyone felt this home was a great choice for this family retreat.
We had great pizza one night ordered fro from Pizza Factory on Highway 120 at the turn off to Pine Mountain Lake, so we could watch a football game. We had a great Mexican dinner at Cocina Michoacán in Groveland.
Our stay was great and we only wished we could have stayed longer. we would return to this home and have mentioned to friends as we would recommend a stay at this home for a great get-away and as a great location to make a visit to Yosemite.
We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was very clean and spacious. We appreciated details, such as the high quality of the kitchen equipment (knives and pans were excellent--no teflon!). Also, there were books, maps, and games provided. In general Groveland is a great place. We will be back!
Overall we had a great time at this property.
The house is located just a short walk from a very (very) small beach, while the main beach/marina is only about a 3 minute drive. The golf course clubhouse w/ pool and restaurant, the main grocery store and 2 pizzerias are only a few minutes drive as well. The backyard overlooks a beautiful golf course, and has a very nice deck with a nice table for dining. The house itself is well designed with many updates, and comes fully stocked with all the basic necessities you would need. The rooms are spacious and the beds and linens were very clean and comfortable. There are also 2 pull out futons in the main living space if extra sleeping space is needed. One of the highlights of the house was the deer. We must have seen at least 15 deer on or next to the property in the 4 days we were there. Our kids enjoyed this immensely.
The large Victorian style house next door peers into the backyard deck area (there is a privacy fence, but it only blocks half the deck and obviously doesn't block sound), and I sense that the occupants are permanent residents. While my family was on vacation, they are just living their daily lives and it made me feel like I needed to be quiet while we were in the backyard during the night time hours. We would normally be at the lake or Yosemite all day, and would come home around 8PM to BBQ and go in the hot tub. They never complained, but for me personally it just felt a little too close for comfort and made me feel like I had to keep shushing my kids. It should be noted that I am generally overly paranoid when it comes to disturbing others, so for many this would probably not be an issue :)
Feedback for Owner:
- The instructions provided for the thermostat inform how to *adjust* the A/C temperature, but do not instruct how to turn it OFF. The check-out instructions asked that we turn it OFF before leaving, but I coudln't figure out how to do it.
- I looked eveywhere for the plastic garbage bags, which are also required for departure cleanup, but I could not find them nor was there mention of their location in the instructions provided.
- The contract provided made no mention of children not being allowed in the hot tub, but there is a sign in the kitchen that says no children allowed in the hot tub. This had me confused, and if I knew children were not allowed in the hot tub, I would not have rented the place.
