Base Camp on Jane Creek is a group of 18 luxury townhomes built for amazing fun!

This unit offers numerous amenities that make a Winter Park vacation one that you and your family or friends will remember for the rest of your life. Do you need room for a lot of people? We have actual bed space for 13 with space for 2 more on a fold out sofa, total of 15. We feel that a real bed is much more comfortable than an air mattress or pull out mattress/sofa. Do you want easy access to the slopes? You can either walk a few yards to the ski corridor and ski to the base (ski in/ski out) or you can walk a few yards down the cul de sac and the green line bus, that runs continuously, will pick you up and take you to the Zephyr lift. This bus will be at the loading point approximately every 20 minutes, there is NO other line in the bus system that picks up that frequently or drops you so close to the lifts. You can also use the bus system to travel into Winter Park, Fraser and other destinations (this requires switching buses). Ski rental (Breeze) is available about a block away at the Iron Horse property. Enjoy golf? Pole Creek and

Grand Elk Golf Clubs are within a 20 minute drive. Do you want to relax in a spa at the end of the day? We have one on the back deck. Want the option of personal space? Separate living areas allow for conversations in multiple places. Do you have children? So do we! We have stocked items like a high chair, a pack-n-play, swim diapers and other items. We have an X-box One in the basement with a couple of E-rated games along with several G rated movies. Our children use their sleds and play/explore in the cul de sac in front of the unit and along the path in the woods behind the townhome. We have rented several units in Winter Park over the years for our family vacations. This unit, by far, is the most spacious and most comfortable we've ever stayed at. You will not forget the positive memories you create while vacationing at 464 Base Camp.

About Lanny Greenhalgh

We are the Greenhalgh family and live in south-central Nebraska raising crops, cattle, and as you can see, KIDS!!! We homeschool and use that opportunity to teach the children about the importance of enterprise, to the glory of God. By the age of 7 each child is required to have their own business. Robert milks, Ashley does eggs, Hannah bakes, David raises hogs and Rachel does sheep. They all also have their daily chores to do around the house. As we prepared the Winter Park property for rental each child was assigned various duties. There was a lot of cleaning to do, there were several shelving units and other items to assemble and my 12-year old daughter installed the new thermostats! We have a motto in our household that states, 'Work first, play later.' This Winter Park property is the culmination of God blessing a lot of work so that we can now have some play time. We expect the children to learn numerous lessons about the upkeep of a property and about the blessings of being able to enjoy it.

Why Lanny Greenhalgh chose Winter Park

We have traveled to many places over the years on family vacations and found none we prefer over Winter Park, CO. Skiing and snowboarding top the list but there are so many other things to do and enjoy. In the winter there are snowmobiling rentals nearby and many other activities. The children love the Coca-Cola tubing, we also tube at the YMCA and there is a tube hill in Fraser. During the summer nothing beats downhill mountain biking (after being carried to the top of the mountain on a lift). It is a huge thrill. Plenty of other hiking and biking activities in the summer as well. There is an alpine slide, mini golf, bounce houses, zip line and other activities at the base of the mountain in the summer time. The YMCA I mentioned, called Snow Mountain Ranch, is near Winter Park and is loaded with family fun opportunities. Some golf courses with the most amazing views are located a few minutes of our property. Our children also thoroughly enjoy white water rafting. Winter Park is a year-round vacation playground.

What makes this townhome unique

The Base Camp on Jane Creek 464 property is unique in that it's not just a place to stay, it's a place to enjoy living. We've built some very good memories staying in the smallest places possible on our trips, but we didn't want to purchase a unit like that. We looked at several properties in WP that would have been large enough to hold us. However, staying at a place and being on top of each other all of the time is not the most enjoyable way to spend a vacation. When we were looking for a place it was also crucial to us that the children be able to easily access the base ski lifts. We originally thought that the Zephyr Mountain Lodge units were the only properties that fit this bill. We were wrong! Since the green line bus route stops only a few steps from our door and drops you off at the base it is arguable that we are now closer to the lifts than if we had a ZML unit. The green line is the only colored shuttle line that drops you off right by the Zephyr and Arrow lifts, with all of the other routes you must walk through the entire village to get to the lifts. We are VERY thankful that base access is so easily available. Our 8 year-old can safely and easily navigate himself to the base for skiing, snowboarding and other activities. If the bus system isn't enough, we also have ski in/ski out access via the ski corridor behind the unit. Easy lift access is very important to us and we think you will find it to be very enjoyable as well. If you need to stop mid-day with a little one you won't be gone from the slopes for long to take them home.

Wonderful Mountain Condo!

We had a great time at this Condo. The location is perfect, a short walk to the cat-track to get to the slopes. The condo is beautiful and perfectly laid out for a large gatherings. Highly recommend!

great place, beautiful and CLEAN

the condo is at winter park. It is beautiful and spacious. The bunk beds for the most part are actually double beds as bunks. Really nice feature. The kitchen is spacious. Easily accommodates at least 10 people at the main dining table and 3 at the center island. Plenty of pots, pans and utensils. Coffee maker plus Kurig.

The kitchen is stalked with all of the condiments you will need. The stove is excellent. The bed rooms were large and spacious and the house perfectly clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. Hot tub on deck was nice.

Really enjoyed our stay, 8 old guys who like to ski and want a nice place, this was perfect.

The only complaint was it is not really ski in/ski out unless you are will to trek a moderately difficult climb, out side of that everything was perfect. I would recommend this house without any reservation as long as your ok with the use of the shuttle or a difficult climb.

Spacious, beautiful home.

We shared this home with another family (4 adults and 6 kids ages 11-16). This is a beautiful, comfortable, spacious home with plenty of beds and bathrooms. The layout is perfect for a big crowd. House was very clean and kitchen was very well stocked with pots and pans, utensils, keurig, regular coffee maker etc as well as basics (spices, oils, condiments) which is perfect for a short stay and you don't want to buy every little thing). There is a small, 5+ minute hike to ski. Hike is uphill and includes many stairs. It was hard to regulate the heat in this house. Owners gave plenty of instructions but even with keeping all bedroom doors closed, house was too warm. Overall, we enjoyed this house. Lanny, the owner was very quick to respond to any email or text which was helpful.

If you choose to stay with us again please let us know how we can make this up to you. Owner's comments on the heating instructions for the property: We carefully and explicitly explain in the instructions how to regulate heat in the unit. If the instructions are followed there should be no overheating issues. We have found that, universally, people overheat because they leave the fireplaces on too long. The unit is heated with radiant floor heat, the fireplaces are for a bit of ambiance when desired but do produce a tremendous amount of heat if left on indefinitely.

Enjoyed our stay

Problems were we couldn’t pull the van up the drive because of ice and we had a boot put on are tire for parking at the bottom and had to pay 50 to get the boot off. Also microwave sparked when we put a package of popcorn in so it needs to be replaced. Great place but disappointed with ice covered driveways.

Owner's Response: We are deeply disappointed in the situation with the driveway and offer our apologies. The driveway is normally heated (and thus melted) but the boiler is out (for too long) and our management company has not gotten the problem rectified even though we have pushed them on it. I am going to contact them regarding the boot fee and see what I can do. We have a new microwave in the unit now. Thanks for alerting us to the problem.

Beautiful ski condo with quick slope access

The Condo was beautiful and well maintained. The bedrooms were large with ample sleeping space and the living room and kitchen areas were perfect for entertaining our party of twelve. The walk-out/ski-in feature was perfect for allowing our large group to come and go as they please, and it was only a ~100 yards to the trail. If arriving in winter, AWD is recommended for the inclined ramp leading up to the condo (our minivan got stuck often). Overall, our stay was wonderful and I wouldn’t hesitate for a sec to visit again!!

We needed a large place for a group of 11 guys with convenient ski access. You couldn’t find a better location or house. Also, ive never had a ski rental that was stocked as well as this one. We could walk to the ski shop which was great for us as well. A+
