Testaccio is a characteristic neighbourhood of Rome, once a harbour receiving the products coming from the sea and nowadays an area rich in nightspots, shops, restaurants and discos. It is possible to reach easily by foot the neighbourhood of Trastevere, the Aventino and the most important attractions of the historical center.
Places of interest: -Macro (Rome Contemporary Art Museum): located in the former slaughterhouse, since 2003 it has been hosting a range of outstanding cultural events, especially dedicated to young people. Here you also find the Architecture faculty of Roma Tre University and the School of Fine Arts- IED, European Design Institute, in via Branca - one of the most important fashion and design schools in Rome- Sant’Anselmo all’Aventino church, belonging to a Benedectine monastery; the church is famous for the Gregorian chants - FAO Headquarters, in Viale Aventino (subway stop Circo Massimo)- Circo Massimo, the Roman chariot racing stadium and the biggest venue of this type ever built - Pyramid of Cestius, built in 12 b.C., close to Porta San Paolo- Eataly, the famous ‘food-hall’ where to buy high-quality Italian products
