We couldn't be more pleased with our stay. The home was clean and well equipped. The location is close to everything making short trips to the store, downtown, or the beach very easy. The property is very lovely. We enjoyed many hours on the porch watching the fish jump out of the large "creek" in the back. Easy access to the trail allowed us the option of short rides in the peaceful community or longer trips on the trail. Thank you, Kathy!
This double-wide at Hatchett Creek Road was admirably updated. Fresh paint, new carpet (no fumes TG), a large, well-equipped kitchen with all new appliances (large and small), and a full complement of dishes, pots and pans, and other equipment needed for food prep. Two ceramic-tiled baths and two queen beds w/new mattresses and Egyptian cotton sheets and towels left us feeling pampered. There is also a laundry area with full capacity machines. There was a big living room w/ a large flat-screen cable TV and a smaller dining room looking out onto the screened porch
Mrs. Ballard responded quickly to a couple of small issues and we were totally satisfied with the arrangements. There is a large paved parking area, gas grill, and AC and heat. The WiFi worked fine.
The screened porch that overlooks the canal is huge and furnished with comfortable seating and a table and chairs for outdoor dining. The view of the canal is wonderful, and all kinds of birds were visiting when we were here. The mullet jumping at night made intriguing sounds. There also was a manatee's nose sticking above the water one evening. The neighborhood is quiet (adult community) although the trash collection was noisy some mornings. :-(
It was fun walking over the Intracoastal Waterway bridge – there's an osprey nest on a pole nearby – and it's a great spot for picture taking. After a short distance and a right turn, one arrives at Venice Avenue with lots of shops and restaurants. A little farther on is Venice Beach and the beautiful gulf.
Altogether, we were very happy with our visit here and wish we could come back again.
beaches, shoping, entertainment, dining, legacy trail for biking/walking.
