About Gwin Coleman
I am a graphic designer, yoga & snowboarding enthusiast. I have lived in Colorado for 11 years. I grew up in California & Missouri and now I reside somewhere in between. I have family all over both areas, so this makes it easy to see both.
Gwin Coleman purchased this Bungalow in 2009
Why Gwin Coleman chose Cole
This house is such a gem. Custom windows authentic to the time that it was built, sun room, great kitchen with everything you need to make a great meal. Out the front door is a neighborhood park so parking is never an issue.
What makes this Bungalow unique
House is located just directly NE of downtown Denver. It's a $6 -8 Uber/Taxi to get downtown. Neighborhood is bustling with restaurants, breweries and wineries. City Park, Zoo, Nature & Science Museum are 1 mile away. This is a great location. You won't be disappointed with the area or the house.

Wonderful little character home!
I hooked this house for 2 couples to sleep in. After searching the Internet for a deal on a downtown hotel, I gave up and searched VRBO. I am so happy that I did! Not only was this house an amazing price, it is in an awesome up and coming neighbourhood, and it's super cute!
I loved that we could sit in the backyard and visit while enjoying a cold beverage on the very hot day.
Comfortable beds, great water pressure, what else would you need?!
Thanks Chandel! So glad you enjoyed it and thank you for taking such good care of it. Please come back any time. :)
Great price for location downtown
I stayed here with my husband, my sister, and my brother in law July 13-15 2016. The house was within miles of downtown, which was extremely convenient for many Denver activities. The house itself has a few issues. The park across the street has a number of loiterers throughout the whole night, and on the last night of our stay around 1 AM several cars pulled up to the park and it became a hangout spot for a large group. My brother in law was on the front porch and heard a gunshot. The interior of the house is decorated eclectically, with A LOT of skulls. The swamp cooler is right over the dining area table, so if you want to play games or cards you will do so in a windstorm, or the heat of summer. >.< The back yard was cute at first, and part of the reason we chose this home. There is an open, DIY composting bin in the yard, which smelled awful, and attracted flies and wasps to the point where we did not use it. Finally, on the second to last day, we noticed the mail slot was full in the morning, and gone when we returned. When we notified the owner, she let us know she had stopped by unannounced thinking we were checking out that day. She apologized for coming in while our belongings were there, but not until I questioned her in a text. I highly recommend Denver, however would not stay at this rental again.
The three stars are because despite the flaws mentioned above, the house is historic and cute, in a great location, and has the expected amenities. The showers, bathrooms, and washer/dryer all worked great. The kitchen was functional, and well stocked with appliances and condiments.
Hi Lesley - I'm terribly sorry you did not enjoy your stay. This really is the first negative review I have received in two years of doing this.
The skulls you refer to are only two small items and are traditional Día de Muertos memorabilia I have collected on trips to Mexico. I will consider removing them. I didn't think anyone would be offended.
The park across the street always seems to be extra busy in the summer months but I haven't experienced the troubles you had. My neighbor is the the President of Denver's City Council and works hard to keep the park clean and kid friendly. It's usually full of dogs, children & families but maybe it was a full moon that night. Neighborhood parks in the city tend to bring out the moon howlers once in awhile.
As for the wasps - thank you. I noticed the quarter sized nest as well and immediately took care of it. Wasps be gone! It happens.
And the compost - well, I like to garden and make my own organic soil. I've never noticed the odor, but thank you for the heads up. It's really such a small compost bin, I'm stumped as to how it creates such a strong odor.
I hope you were able to find some pleasant things around the city and I'm glad my home could save you hundreds of dollars on the exorbitant hotel fees not to mention the costs to eat out. I did notice you enjoyed my kitchen because it was quite the mess when I arrived home.
Sorry about grabbing my mail. I honestly got the check out days mixed up and immediately turned around at the doorway, when I noticed all of your things scattered around the place, all the beer cans on the front porch and cigarettes butts on the ground.
I welcome you back any time, should you choose to visit Denver again. I would just recommend you be a little more mindful when staying in someone else's home.
Great stay, nice and cozy even for summer months
Awesome place to stay, me and 5 guys stayed here for our annual baseball trip. Our first time to stay at a rental. we normally do hotels and this is our 10th year. Was very nice to have a home atmosphere to spread out and relax when needed. House was well furnished with anything you need, and even some snacks from other visitors, so in return we left some as well. You can walk to downtown but it is 2.5 miles, good exercise. We used uber alot but we walked it too. It is very quiet neighborhood and I would recommend it if that is what you are looking for.
You were such great guests. Thank you for staying and please come back any time.
Very cozy and adorable
We had the best time in Denver. The bungalow was perfectly located. The beds were comfortable. The park was nice for more morning coffee and dog watching.
We had an amazing weekend trip to Denver. The house is located walking distance or short uber ride from downtown. The owner was very friendly and very organized. The house was very clean and had plenty of room for the 4 of us. I would highly recommend staying at this location.
Great location. Great house. Great rates. Great host.
The owner communicated well. If I had a question, she was quick with a response.
The house is in a great location. It has nice curb appeal. The park across the street is wonderful. Parking is right in front of the house.
It's hard to find any faults in this property. First off, it was clean. Don't let the vintage couch fool you. It is worn but clean. I love the seating area on the front porch; the seating area in the backyard; the sun room. The two living areas provide a nice way to accommodate everyone in your party. I also like the way the basement can be sectioned off to be completely private. I like the coffee maker and microwave in the basement but it would be nice to have a microwave in the kitchen also (there could be one and I didn't see it).
I would recommend this place to anyone.
Museums, Convention Center, National Western Stockyard, Hot Springs, Georgetown Railroad Loop, and much more. This is a great city!!
