This apartment (50 sq.mt) has a very functional distribution of space: it offers two very big rooms, each furnished with a sofa bed. The first room, which welcomes the guests once they enter the apartment, offers, in addition to the sofa (with a 17cm-high matress), a small but fully-fitted kitchenette (with fridge and oven), equipped with enough tableware for 6 people. A crystal table with 4 chairs completes the dining area, whilst a big window offers ample views of the Garbatella district.
From the day area you enter the bathroom, equipped with a shower stall and a washing machine.
The proper bedroom is also furnished with a double sofa bed (with a 18-cm high matress), a writing desk with two chairs and a small wall TV set. From here you reach the balcony, which also offers views of the Garbatella station and the Ostiense flyover (Cavalcaferrovia Ostiense). There is a capacious wardrobe with 3 doors in the hallway to store clothes and personal belongings.
Extra facilities: For stays longer than 30 days, bi-weekly cleaning is included (with change of bed linen and towels).
Area The apartment is located between the Garbatella district, built back in the ‘20s on the hills that dominate San Paolo fuori le Mura Basilica, and Via Ostiense, a street created by the Romans to connect Ostia with the capital. Just opposite Via Pullino you find the park entitled to the ‘Caduti del Mare’ (those who died at sea). South to the Garbatella, at approx. 15 minutes on foot (1,1 km), you find Porta San Paolo, one of the southern gate of the Aurelian Walls and the best preserved one of the entire walls. Here you can visit San Paolo fuori le Mura Basilica, one of the four papal basilicas in Rome and the second largest after San Peter’s in the Vatican.
Other sights in the area: -Eataly, the famous food-hall specialized in Italian delicacies-Pyramid of Cestius, at Piramide subway stop: this is the tomb of Gaius Cestius built in the I century b.C., and it is the only one of this kind survived in Rome -Roma Tre University (law faculty)-FAO headquarters (at 2,5 km - 30 minutes on foot)-Italgas offices
In about 15 minutes on foot, you reach the Ostiense railway station, Rome’s third biggest station, located in Piazzale dei Partigiani. It is connected to Piramide subway stop (line B) and to Porta San Paolo station (Roma-Lido railway).
Public transports -Subway stop Garbatella, line B, at about 3 minutes on foot; from here you reach the Colosseum in 10 minutes (3 stops) and the Vatican (change at Termini station and take metro A, approx. 35 minutes)-Bus lines 670 (Pincherle/Montagnola), 673 (Rho/Zama), 715 (Tiberio/Teatro Marcello), N9 (Laurentina/Termini)
