Eagle River Chain on sandy Cranberry Lake, secluded quiet bay w/ level walk out

Bedrooms 4
Space 2,200 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 4 - 7 nights

About the property

4 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom, secluded wooded lot, sandy shore, Sleeps 14

You can't beat the location! Beautifully secluded, wooded lot with 265 feet of sandy bottom shore line, tucked into the quiet northern bay of Cranberry Lake. Easy access to boat launch, golf courses and restaurants on both the Eagle River and 3-Lakes Chain of Lakes, excellent summer recreation as well as some of the greatest snowmobile trails and great ice fishing.

Cranberry Lake is home to great fishing, swimming (with some of the nicest sandy shores on the chain), skiing (right from your dock), and boating (enjoy the 'Cranberry Lake island', full Eagle River Chain of Lakes and take the channel out of Cranberry Lake to the 3-Lakes Chain of Lakes). All of this make Cranberry Lake one of the most desired lakes on the Eagle River Chain. Take our complimentary fishing boat out for a stroll, or use our rental pontoon if you like to explore all the Eagle River Chain has to offer like dinner or lunch at any of the several restaurants on the chain, or go golfing or shopping (by boat!).

To top it off it, this home is nestled into the woods on a private 3 acre parcel with a gentle slope to the lake; giving you privacy, beauty, and plenty of Northwood's wildlife to enjoy. Winters, enjoy snowmobiling right from your door with convenient trail access, sledding and ice fishing. Summers, take a quiet walk through the woods, scenic bike ride or enjoy the day on the water touring the Eagle River and 3-Lakes Chain of Lakes, skiing, wakeboarding, tubing and fishing. Then enjoy your evening by the outdoor fire pit telling stories or roasting marshmallows…and if the bugs bother you, move to the screened porch. You'll fall in love before you even enter the house.

Our home features beautiful views of the lake, warm Northwood’s decor, screened porch, full kitchen (with dishwasher, microwave, and all the essentials you need to feel at home). The open concept gives you plenty of room to roam with beautiful lake views from the kitchen, dining room, living room, family room and lower level bedrooms! The lower level family room has a walk out to the lake and provides a great place to play some games with the family or just relax. And after a long day of fun in the Northwood's or on the Lake, you'll have your choice of 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. TWO Master Suites on the main level with king size beds and attached full bathrooms. Two lower level bedrooms (one with 2 Queen beds and another with 2 Twin beds) with another full bathroom adjacent to both bedrooms. All of this with conveniences of home including satellite TV, WiFi, laundry, linen's, kitchen utensils (and some basic cooking items including a crock pot, griddle, etc.), all to make your stay as worry free as possible.

The large driveway allows plenty of room for your vehicles and trailer so no need to worry about parking. Boat landings as well as gas stations are conveniently located minutes away. Eagle River has so much to offer from community events to shopping, restaurants and more. Checkout the Eagle River Chamber of Commerce for upcoming events.

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing family vacation, this is the place for you.

About Tom & Tonia Atchison

It was our dream to own a home on the Eagle River Chain of Lakes, but finding a home on the most desirable of lakes on the chain (Cranberry Lake), made our search challenging. We couldn’t be happier with our home and hope to share it with you for a few weeks each year. My wife and I grew up vacationing in the Eagle River area with a family summer home on a nearby lake and we knew this was where we wanted to live once our children were grown. They are getting older now and it was time to start the search for our retirement home, and we couldn’t be happier with what we found.

Tom & Tonia Atchison purchased this house in 2014

Why Tom & Tonia Atchison chose Northeast

When we were looking for homes we wanted a few things...lakefront on the Ealge River Chain and our best case scenereo was to be on Cranberry Lake. We wanted privacy and a nicely wooded lot, a shoreline we could play on and ski from, and we wanted to be on the east shoreline to enjoy sunsets. We were fairly certain we would never get all of these things, but these were on our list of desires. Well, we got all of this and more. Bonus was the ability to snowmobile from our yard (no trailering to trails), a large driveway and storage units for all of our toys, convenience to the highway and town, and more wildlife than we imagined.

What makes this house unique

Many lake homes are built right on top of one another and offer no privacy. This home has the privacy we wanted with 3+ beautiful wooded acres of land you can hike on. We never imagined we would find that on the nicest lake on the chain. We are in a quiet bay, our dock sits on the sandy shore, and we can see the most beautiful sunsets from our front yard and dock. We can also snowmobile right out our door.

Wonderful stay in Eagle River

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time renting this property and as in the first time... not disappointed. Great hosts and awesome house. Weather was a little less cooperative during this stay but we made the most of the sunny days we had. Plenty of room, clean, quiet. Cranberry lake is the place to be. Did not want to leave, but back to reality we go. Excellent new pier and docking room for the boat. Just great overall! Thanks again Tom and Tonia!

Great location and awesome owners

  • 4 of 5

Just spent the 4th of July week at Tonia and Tom's place on Cranberry Lake and it was great. The location is awesome, the pontoon boat was really nice and we enjoyed having fires in the outdoor fire pit to finish our days. Tonia and Tom met us at move in and walked us through the place...never had that before, a very nice touch. They made us feel very welcome. They also checked in during the week to make sure everything was good...which it was. I definitely recommend this spot on Cranberry Lake.

The property was more than we expected. It was not a cabin but a family home with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

The cabin (house) was very nice, comfortable and clean. It was just like being home. We enjoyed the bonfires, the pontoon trip to the Paul Bunyon festival. There was nothing we needed that wasn't there. Would definitely recommend to anyone else.

Great Up North Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Perfect is the only way to describe this wonderful vacation home! We stayed for the 1st week of August with our two sons and their families (a 3 yrs old, 1 year old and a 4 month old). The location is ideal on beautiful Cranberry Lake. It gave us a gorgeous view and easy access to the chain of lakes. The spacious home gave us plenty of room to have our own private space and also had spacious areas for group time. We spent most of our time on the screened patio eating meals and playing board games. The firepit was also a fun area right along the water's edge to gather in the evening for a campfire. Plenty of stackable chairs are located there along with small tables to hold drinks. The large hammock was also a popular spot to relax.

We rented the pontoon for the week. We used it nearly everyday. We took it to the 12 Pines Restaurant for an early dinner (enjoyed) , we docked it at several locations around the lake to swim, and just enjoyed going out on the lake as a family with small babies. I highly recommend renting the pontoon. We had fun letting our 3 yr old grandson fish off the pier (caught and released) many fish.

The home's location is very close to Eagle River making trips into town quick and easy. If you don't know Eagle River it is a perfect 'up north' town. Mini golf, ice cream, shops, so much to do if your can tear yourself away from the lake.

Everything in this home is top of the line. Tom & Tonia have put a lot of care in providing for comforts and needs of their guests. They live close by and made sure that we knew we could contact them at any time, regarding any concern. We had a little trouble with the wifi the first day and they were very responsive in solving the problem. It turned out to be only a loose wire to the router.

The home is not designed to be toddler proof, which we were aware because of description. It was not a problem as we brought our own child's gate for the staircase and baby gear.

I can't think of any negatives about this place except: The week flew by. We didn't want to leave!

Thank you Tom and Tonia for making your home available to us.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay and that you were able to take in the full "Northwood's Experience", including evenings on the screen porch, nights by the fire pit, days spend on the lake relaxing, fishing and having dinner out, and downtown Eagle River activities. So glad that our home and pontoon rental met your expectations!

Atchison's home was everything we hoped it would be. The house and it's accommodations were comfortable and everything was neat and clean. We enjoyed the fire pit and the boat dock. We hope to visit again next year. Than you Tom and Tonia.
