About Kathleen Fournier

Originally from the Midwest, I moved here to study with a mentor and never left. The climate and terrain provide endless opportunities for outdoor appreciation and adventure.

Kathleen Fournier purchased this house in 2000

Why Kathleen Fournier chose Greater Phoenix Area

The property was discovered during an inspired journey to locate a modest nature retreat that provided access to hiking, horse trails and a buffer from metropolitan energy. The allure of the Southwest's open spaces seemed a natural place to call home for me and my small herd of mustang horses. Upon initial entry into Arizona, I recall the feeling of familiarity and desire to live in Cave Creek while driving over the foothills. The commute to work was too far at that time so, I waited a few years before moving north to Cave Creek.

What makes this house unique

Panoramic views and mystical hues enchanted me as I drove along School House Road. I literally knew without a doubt I would be purchasing the property before I even arrived!

Beautiful house, Beautiful location, Beautiful architecture

  • 4 of 5

This house was amazing. The architecture was unique and the photos can't really do it justice. Every room is a full glass window on the outside wall. Each room has a sliding glass door that leads to a different outside sitting area and view. One spot for sunrise coffee. Another for lunch. And the best is the hot tub for drinks and sunset. Sooo peaceful. Just what we were looking for.

The house is only minutes from Cave Creek. It looked like a very interesting town and we wish we could have visited. Unfortunately we were there during Biker Week and it was so busy we could not find a place to park.

The only negative is the lack of a TV signal and very slow internet service (0.1 gps). I know we didn't plan on spending our time streaming videos, but it would have been good to have a chance to search local tourist sites and maps.

Nevertheless we loved the place and would recommend it to anyone looking for an escape, that is still close enough to the busy life of Phoenix and Scottsdale.

Beautiful property that is relaxing and serene.

  • 4 of 5

Accommodations were great. Comfortable bed, good amenities, unique house that allowed for beautiful views from any room. Was able to watch gorgeous sunsets every evening and relax in the hot tub at night. Enjoyed the unique neighborhood and town of Cave Creek. Location allowed for short drive into Scottsdale or Phoenix.

Cacti and Quail, Dogs and Horses, Sunset and Laughter

  • 5 of 5

We were drawn to the magical place by the Taliesin inspired architecture of the home and the location, only a short distance from the quirky town of Cave Creek, nestled at the bottom of Black Mountain. The home was intriguing and comfortable, with all the amenities one could wish for. The location was perfect for anyone interested in hiking in the desert, only a short distance from the superb trails of the Spur Cross Conservation Area and the Cave Creek Recreational Area. Our hosts, Renee and Kate, were warm and welcoming and made us laugh and feel at home. The unexpected bonus was the joy we felt, watching the horses and dogs, rescued by Renee and Kate, enjoying the freedom to be as well as the beauty and tranquility of this amazing spot. What could be better for winter jaded Canadians than sipping chilled white wine while watching tufted quail scurry about cacti as the sun sets over a corral protecting rescued wild horses watched over by a pack of friendly rescued canines?

Yes, there is heaven on earth!!!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I just returned from a two week vacation in Cave Creek. The house was immaculate and the landscape was incredible, the view of the mountains from any room was breathtaking, daily visits from "the canine crew" topped off each and every day and Kate and Renee couldn't do enough to make this vacation "one to remember." Whether it was breakfast at The Grotto or dinner at Tonto's the food was outstanding. Our trip to Sedona and the Pink Jeep Tour with the grandchildren was one of the highlights of our trip. The art shows and the Arabian Horse Show were a thing of beauty. We've taken cruises, visited Russia, island hopped in the Caribbean but you have to experience this desert oasis for yourself. I highly recommend this "one of a kind" property to anyone who is looking for relaxation, beauty, unbelievable sunsets and owners who take pride in opening their doors to people from all over the US.
