About Nicole Pulliam

Married with four children and now our first grandchild, we lived about thirty minutes from one another through high school, but never met. After his first two years in the Marine Corps my husband and I met at my house through a mutual friend of my brothers. Married in 1989, my husband was stationed on the local Marine Base in Twentynine Palms. We fell in love with the area and when his time in the Corps came to an end, after the Gulf War, we made the area our home.

Nicole Pulliam purchased this cottage in 1994

Why Nicole Pulliam chose Deserts

Terrific location for a beautiful house!

  • 5 of 5

Location is excellent, straight drive into the park. From the front door to the Hidden Valley campground or picnic area took approximately 20 minutes! Perfect for my climbing experience with Joshua Tree climbing adventure guides!! Joshua Tree is an amazing experience and the spaciousness, gorgeous kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms made this a luxurious vacation for me and my two dogs. The Bureau of land management is approx 15 minutes to ride your bikes, let your dogs run off leash and do some exploring. The BLM has trails that make it easy to enjoy running or biking. Joshua Tree had many dirt roads that allowed me to hike with the dogs as well with unbelievable views! Be sure to pack enough water for your dogs and yourself! All these adventures were completed with coming back to this vacation house where from the time I arrived (it was almost midnight -but no problem finding the house or entering keyCODE access. Safe, quiet, plenty of stars to look at over the mountain off the front porch. The garage is a nice feature for storing your bike or drive in to park your car. Great place for a family reunion. Visitors center is not even 5 minutes from the front door, as well as gas, restaurant and food. There's a Walmart about 15 minutes, as well as a petco, and additional fast food. Relaxing each evening at the vacation rental after climbing all day, hiking, biking completed the perfect vacation!

PS- there was even a whole shelf of free bottled water for those mornings when I was running to get out the door and needed to bring water for the dogs!😀?

Peace and Quiet

  • 4 of 5

Secluded, clean, cozy and relaxing. Everything I needed. Hostess Nicole left freshly picked citrus. I will be returning next year when the desert is in bloom again.

Cozy little mobile home

  • 5 of 5

The place is as advertised: cozy, clean, well equipped, lot of room to store personal items, comfortable for 2-4 people. The location is great to explore JTNP. Nicole is a great host. There were a few items that we couldn't find, sent a message to Nicole, and in about 5-10 minutes she stopped by with everything we needed. Very satisfied with our stay.

Very impressed

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here while waiting for base housing. Nicole was a great host, checking on us throughout our stay, and always talked us through our questions. Although this cute trailer was hard to find, it was worth the adventure. The home not only comes with a fire pit but with a few sets of pots, pans, dishes, silverware, and cutting knives. We enjoyed staying here, thanks Nicole for providing an warm and cozy place to stay.

Dunlap Cottage

  • 5 of 5

The perfect place for 2-4 people looking for beautiful views (mountains, stars, and sunsets) and privacy. An excellent home away from home! All you need is personal items. We enjoyed the cottage and our nightly fires. Close to Joshua Tree National Park. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to family and friends!

Weekend jaunt

  • 4 of 5

My mom, sister, and I spent a holiday weekend at the Hide Away. Nicole was a great "hostess" - responding quickly to emails, checking in for ways she could help, letting us check out a little later. The mobile was small, but comfortable for the three of us. A perk is the small, fenced area in the front so my dog was able to run in and out easily. We also made use of the kitchen with a gas stove for all of our meals. This worked well since there was a good variety of pots and pans; but there was only one small knife and a few utensils if anyone wants to do more chopping or prep. The location between Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms was good for our jaunts into Joshua Tree National Park to hike.

Owner's Response: I am always available as noted in the review. While I try to provide everything the guest may require, I obviously dropped the ball... I have added a knife set. Please, know that if you come to stay and are missing something you believe should be provided...ask me about it. I'm here to make your stay the best it can be.
