Why Yonder chose Fairview
We spent over 5 years searching for the 'perfect' property to buy & build this family retreat. We were very specific about what we envisioned; mountain property, views, water, mountain spring, and some flat area for kids to runaround. We also wanted to be very close to downtown Asheville & everything surrounding downtown, but to also feel 'secluded' at the same time. It took almost 5 years of looking, but we closed on this 25 acre mountain property in Spring of 1998. The Lodge was constructed and finished one year later. We have always felt we could not have found a better plot of land, in a better place, and more suited for the family retreat we envisioned. The Lodge at Edenderry is only 10 minutes from Downtown Asheville, 12 minutes to The Biltmore Estate, less than 30 minutes to Lake Lure, within 45 minutes of skiing at Wolf Laurel, and 30 minutes to Hendersonville. Everything is truly within a short drive, and The Lodge is perfectly situated, close to everything the Asheville area has to offer.
What makes this House unique
We are obviously a bit partial, but this Lodge and property offer a plethora of unique benefits that folks of all ages will fall in love with. We have a 25 acre mountain to hike & explore, a spring-fed swimming pond with a dock & a beach for kids of all ages to swim and enjoy. The common areas also have a playground, swing set, trampoline, and walking trail around the pond for endless hours of enjoyment. There is a huge fire pit down at the pond for the whole gang to gather and roast amore's, share stories, or weave tall tales. The house itself has all sorts of amenities. Of course there is the hot tub, which is a huge favorite. Everyone LOVES the hot tub! We have the garage converted to a Game Room with ping pong, air hockey, foosball, darts & more. There are custom cornhole boards for outdoor enjoyment, and a big screen TV and gaming system in one of the lower level TV rooms. We have 2 Great Rooms, gas fireplaces, and a wood burning stove. The 2 levels of decks afford amazing views, and tons of outdoor dining and relaxation areas for hours of enjoyment. (Our own family lives outside practically when we visit & use The Lodge.) We also have the koi pond, outdoor patio & waterfall for a calming and relaxation escape away from it all. There is something for everyone, of any age, and any desire to relax & unwind at The Lodge at Edenderry.
Comfortable space and well equipped for a crowd!
We had plenty of room to comfortably house 13 adults and 5 children (age 3 and under). The kitchen was very well equipped, and many basics were provided - dishwasher and washing machine tablets, trash bags, etc. The porch served as a great enclosed 'playground' for the children. One section stayed cool because of the roof and ceiling fan.
Just a SPECTACULAR home!! 5-Stars!
Our family rented all 4 homes for the Falls at Edenderry collection from Yonder, as we held a family reunion with a total of 72 of us! (Yes; big family gathering.) It was amazing in and of itself that Yonder had a property that could accommodate a total of 72 guests; we never in our wildest dreams thought we could all stay "together" at one property. This reunion entailed 4 different generations, and the homes were able to host even those with limited mobility. We rented a huge tent that we had setup at Pine Hollow, which essentially served as the "hub" for everything, and it stayed up the whole 4 days we stayed, and allowed for terrific outdoor meals, events and more. (One set of great grandparents even renewed their vows one evening with a cool little outdoor ceremony.) The Lodge at Edenderry was where the "elder statesmen/women" stayed, which was perfect. The Lodge has 2 ensuite "Master Suites" on the main floor, which were used by the great grandparents & oldest set of grandparents. The home was so very welcoming. All 4 homes' hot tubs saw regular usage, as did the fire pits. It was even warm enough for the younger kids to swim in the pond and play/hang-out on the beach area. The homes were VERY clean, well set-up, and nicely furnished. We stayed mostly close to the homes as there was so much to do, and we wanted to see everyone, etc. However, we did take a group outing to The Biltmore, Sierra Nevada, and did the Grey Line Tour in downtown Asheville, (as suggested by Sarah w/Yonder). Brian even brought us out some additional necessities we requested, and was helpful with some of the technology the older folks were struggling with. Much fun was had by all, I can assure you that if our family plans another reunion in Asheville that we will be back to the Falls at Edenderry, or if a smaller group trip, simply contact Yonder for luxury accommodations; simply AWESOME!!!
Wonderful Mountain Home
We throughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful house in Fairview, NC. Wonderful home with many awesome amenities.
Gorgeous house with room for all of our guests! We had an amazing time enjoying the house, hot tub, deck and spacious rooms.
Our Christmas Family Gathering
Our family stayed in The Lodge at Edenderry the week before Christmas. The 9 kiddos and 6 adults had plenty of room for games playing, baking cookies and doing puzzles. The open fireplace was a big hit with our group. So was the downstairs greatroom and big screen TV.
Yonder was always available to answer questions and help in all situations.
We highly recommend The Lodge for your family gathering.
Worked Great for our Meeting
We held a Department Strategic Planning meeting here. The home was well laid out for what we needed. We could use the separate sitting areas for small group meetings and then the larger living area when we all needed to meet together.
The only problems we had, which were quickly repaired by the maintenance guy, were the fire place would not light and the refrigerator door would not close. Other than that it was a great choice for our meeting.
The Biltmore Estate is just a short drive, with access to everything located right in the heart of Biltmore Village. Shopping, restaurants, bars, micro-breweries, and other local events are right outside your doorstep. Downtown Asheville is also only a short drive, & you can walk to almost everything, and enjoy all that this eclectic city has to offer. Asheville Tourists games in the Summer time, Asheville micro-brewery tours, the Wicked Weed, Pisgah Brewing, Highland Brewing, The Wedge, and many others are just a short distance. Dine at The Corner Kitchen & 12-Bones, both of which are frequented by President Obama whenever he comes to town, and are both of his favorites. Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway as well & just take in the sights of the majestic mountains.
