Pine Point sits on water's edge on a scenic point on the south shore of Lake Shamineau, one of Minnesota's finest fishing and recreational lakes. While the cabin was built in the late '60s, I took a full year to restore it to the kind of family retreat I knew we would enjoy for years to come. The cabin resides on 270 ft. of lakeshore. To the north in the private side yard there is a brick patio with a bench for quiet solitude. To the southeast is a 32' dock with 8'x8' 'private patio' on the end for fishing and relaxing with your favorite book. The dock is next to the small, private beach with fire pit. A gas grill is provided near the cabin entry for your outdoor cooking convenience.
You are greeted inside the main living space by a full kitchen, with a functional island. It has hand-selected granite throughout, with hickory cabinets. If you love to cook, this kitchen was made for you. One guest was heard to say, "This is nicer than my kitchen back home". You will find a fridge/freezer, stainless glass-top stove/oven and microwave, along with full dinnerware, pots, pans and utensils for your use, should you need to prepare that full-course family meal or romantic dinner for two.
The living/dining area has an aspen, tongue-and-groove, vaulted ceiling with fan and a full, gas fueled field rock fireplace with a rustic, pine timber mantle on the north wall. A 45' flat screen TV hangs near the fireplace. On the south wall of the space is the dining table, which seats four. An original acrylic painting, of a northern river scene, hangs nearby.
The full bath has a ceramic-tiled tub/shower with jetted tub. Above the granite-topped, single vanity hangs a willow-framed mirror for your convenience.
The master bedroom faces due east, so if you don't wish to greet the sun in bed with your first morning cup of coffee or tea, you'll need to draw the blinds. It has a closet and a custom, queen sized, pine headboard with night stand. An air conditioner is provided for those rare warm summer evenings, with baseboard-heating providing additional warmth in the winter, early spring and late fall months. The second bedroom also has a queen-sized bed with closet, night stand and additional storage. Baseboard heating and air conditioning are also provided for your comfort.
A three-season porch sits on the other side of 8' of glass with sliding door, as you face lakeside from the main living area. It has become for some that place to enjoy a great lake views, wonderful sunrises and a place to enjoy that first morning beverage.
