Spacious, but cosy, this two bedroom cottage is set in beautiful gardens overlooking the rolling countryside of Brittany. Maison Jervis is perfect for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. The accommodation is available all year round. Pets (maximum 2 dogs) generally welcome. Please check with the owner. Dogs not to be left alone in the cottage. We can help with appointment at local vet for your pet's travel requirements.
A unique feature of the property is the private, heated, "endless swim spa". This has been recently installed in the grounds and provides a whole new swimming experience. The spa is available from 2nd June - 1st October.
Guests are asked to adhere to the regulations provided by the owner when using the Spa. Failure to do this can cause inconvenience to guests and owner alike and an amount may be deducted from your Security Deposit as a result.
The garden is beautifully landscaped with almost limitless space for children to "let off steam"! Also with the youngsters in mind are swings and a climbing frame. There is also a fenced pond.
If you wish to have a meal/barbecue prepared for you there is a locally based English chef who we can put you in touch with. He can also give cookery lessons either in the cottage or in his professionally set up kitchen nearby.
The accommodation is less than a hour to the coast and also to picturesque lakes offering fishing (great for Carp), watersports and sandy beaches. There is a golf course nearby as well as cycling paths. Only a few minutes drive away is the charming town of Rohan (20mins walk), with a choice of shops including boulangerie, small supermarket and pharmacy. Pontivy is 15 minutes by car, an historic town having an impressive chateau with a good choice of restaurants, supermarkets and interesting shops. Each Monday there is a large market for fresh vegetables, cheese, bread and all sorts of other gastronomic delights.
Josselin, a French "petite cite de caractere" is only 20 mins drive. Inland Brittany is steeped in history and there are many fascinating places to visit including the fortress town of Fougeres and the towns and villages that skirt the River Rance. The list continues, Concarneau, Carnac. The capital city of Brittany is Rennes which is 60 minutes drive well worth a day’s visit as is Vannes 45 minutes drive.
An optional "end of stay" clean is available for those who have an early start on the day of departure. This is at a cost of 72 euros and should be booked at least two days in advance of departure. Otherwise we respectfully ask that you leave the cottage in a clean and tidy state as at the beginning of your holiday.
Kitchen and dining
The fully equipped modern kitchen has a cooker with gas hob and electric oven. There are two fridges and one freezer. Also a toaster, microwave and kettle. The large dining table comfortably seats six. A small utility area adjoins the kitchen and houses a wc and washing machine, clothes airer and iron.
A wooden highchair and stairgate are available.
The living room is elegantly furnished with two large Duresta luxury sofas and one "gentlemans chair" The flat screen tv receives UK channels. A dvd player is available with a wide choice of films. A logburner is provided for the cooler evenings. A small surcharge applies to logs and use of electric heating in the winter months.
Free WiFi is available.
The main bedroom has a king size double bed. There is a dressing table and a hair dryer is provided. Also a wardrobe and leather chair and " Mamas & Papas" travel cot.
Bedroom 2 has 2 wooden base singles, with one matching xl single, and one pullout, chest of drawers with hairdryer,and clothes hanging rail. Bedlinen and bath towels are included. Pool towlels are not provided.
Both bedrooms have en suite bathroom with wc, hand basin and shower. There is a double shower in the master bedroom ensuite.
Dvds, books and games for all ages. Adult and childrens croquet. Plastic building bricks, dvds for all ages.
Garden and outside
Beautiful gardens over looking the rolling countryside, perfect for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. Totally private in well set out gardens front and back, with swings and fenced pond. Love seat, two loungers, two reclining arm chairs (allibert), wooden table and benches for outdoor dining. Large brick BBQ.
The recently installed SwimSpa provides an incredible swimming and jacuzzi experience for all the family .This private, heated “endless swim spa” measures over 5 metres in length and provides its own swimming stream as well as 30 hydrotherapy jets! It is also fitted with lights for that late evening swim or jacuzzi whilst enjoying “aperos”!

What to do in Brittany
During the summer numerous villages and town celebrate the "Pardon" which is predominantly a religious thanksgiving but is always followed by a celebratory meal (with a drink or two!) and Breton dancing.
Great for the beach, restaurants and visting local "menhirs" (ancient stones. Also a great Sunday market!
French " petite cite de caractere" on the banks of the Nantes-Brest canal. There is a stunning chateau and puppet museum as well as numerous restaurants. Each July Josselin is home to a Medieval Festival.
Within easy reach of Maison Jervis is the walled medieval city of Vannes. Well worth a visit to see the many historic buildings or just a bit of retail therapy in the elegant shops!
