This holiday cottage is set in Saltaire, a village created in 1853 in the Italianate style by Sir Titus Salt a textile magnate and philanthropist. This cottage is one of several created to house mill workers and which now offers a cosy ’home from home’, ideal for discovering the abundance of things to see and do in the area. The village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Sir Titus Salt also built Salts Mill, which was formerly a large textile mill. It closed in 1986 and now offers a place to eat, shop, admire artwork and antiques, together with a whole host of events. Externally, there is a lovely park and adventure playground, and individual shops, restaurants and cafés to enjoy, together with a traditional pub. Alternatively the countryside of the Yorkshire Dales is readily accessible, with both Ilkley, famous for its moor, and Harrogate, with Betty’s tea room, just a short drive away. Shop 25 yards, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
