Why Sue Wilkins chose Bristol
We fell in love with the house nearly 40 years ago.. the views and the tranquility are heavenly!
What makes this Apartment unique
It's peaceful, away from all the noise and stresses of living in the city.. It is a comfortable new modern property and the owner is next door to assist with anything if needed.. . The countryside is lovely, there are great views, and some amazing places to visit on your doorstep/ short drive away. Cheddar Gorge & Wells are a must see!

This was a weekend away in one of the most beautiful place in the country, the house and the setting are lovely, there is a wood behind the house we spent time in walking the dogs. We also walked around chew valley lake which is only a couple of miles away.
The property is clean quiet and Sue who runs it is lovely, I would recommend this to anyone.
A cozy and wonderful place to relax for a few days in serene surroundings. Our thanks to Sue for making our trip to the Mendips extremely enjoyable. Should we make it back to this area, this again will make the perfect base from which to explore.
Garth and Jerri are an absolutely delightful couple. They are interesting and great company. I am so glad they enjoyed their stay and I would love to see them again but Canada is quite a long way from the Mendips!
Perfect for a relaxing break
Sue was a wonderful welcoming host and the groceries pack was a lovely touch.
The annex was superb and very warm, comfortable and well equipped with everything you could need.
The location was spot on for taking my dog out straight from the door in to the woods.
I highly recommend this property.
The place to get away and relax!
My girlfriend and I were looking for somewhere really quiet to escape to for a few days and this fit the bill perfectly! Sue was there to meet us when we arrived and showed us around. The place was spotlessly clean and there was lots of breakfast bits provided for us. The surrounding countryside is really lovely and there was a forest and an old mining chimney right on the doorstep. We loved our stay here and would recommend this to anyone. My only negative comment would be that the bathroom basin was too small and the shower could do with being a bit more powerful. Neither of these things spoiled our stay however and we would happily return. There is Sky TV and broadband available (we had to switch the router off and back on to get the broadband working but after that it worked perfectly). All in all, this was exactly what we were looking for and we couldn't have been more pleased. This is a remote location in the countryside but there are some lovely pubs nearby and the beautiful town of Wells and the lovely Chew Valley Lake are only a short drive away. If you are after peace and quiet then this is the place to stay! Thank you so much Sue.
Very good annex. Good base for exploring the mendips
Very good clean place . Would recommend to others .
Very nice and quiet place to stay, with an overwhelmingly friendlyand charming host.
We spent wonderful nine days in this lovely apartment. We missed nothing, and Sue had also provided lots of fruits, bread, milk, and so on.
There are walks from your front door in all directions, through forestry/fields and footpaths. There is superb fishing at both Chew Valley and Blagdon lake, along with sailing and bird watching. Golf, equestrian pursuits, rock climbing are all available within 10 minutes, as well as Bath and Bristol which are 25 minutes by car.
It is peaceful and secluded, yet only 25 minutes from Bristol/Bath by car, Chew Valley lake is less than 10 minutes drive away, Wells is 15 minutes away as is Cheddar Gorge. It is an ideal spot for those who wish to escape from the hustle and bustle of busy towns.. There are loads of places to explore near by - perfect for nature lovers/walkers/fishermen.
The nearest shop is in West Harptree which sells a wide range of local produce, has a deli, a small bakery, normal house hold products, wines/tobacco etc...
The closest pubs are : Waldegrave Arms in East Harptree which does good food and the Castle of Comfort which is very popular/busy
You really need a car or be a keen cyclist if you are staying as we are situated at the top of the Mendips hills. The nearest train station is Yatton, Bristol or Bath. We are 20 minutes from Bristol airport by car.
There isn't a decent bus service near by. The area is popular with walkers, cyclists, horse riders & fishermen
