Great place, comfortable beds, very clean. Squaw Creek Resort is ammazing, tons of activities: pool, hot tubs, gym, hiking trails, we always enjoy coming here.

Beautiful property, lousy service

  • 3 of 5

Make sure your room is cleaned before you check in. Otherwise you may be waiting an eternity for the Vacasa guest services staff to fix the problem.

Great property, bad customer service

  • 1 of 5

I am disappointed to have to write a bad review for our recent stay, because we have vacationed at the Resort at Squaw Creek many times and have found it to be a great property -- beautiful location, lots of activities, terrific amenities. This time, however, my wife, two children, and I arrived a little before 7:30 p.m. to check in; and when we walked into the unit (our first time renting through Vacasa), we found it to be a complete disaster. Trash was strewn throughout, the beds were stripped and covered with dirty sheets and towels, all of the lights and phones had inexplicably been unplugged, and it looked like there had been a huge party in the room. But then things got worse -- we went to the front desk to ask for the room to be cleaned, but they said we had to arrange that through Vacasa, since Vacasa owned the unit. I called the Vacasa local manager and got voicemail. I then called guest services at Vacasa, and they said they'd look into it and call me back. After almost 30 minutes I had not heard from them, so I called them back -- again they said they'd look into it and call me back. Another 20 minutes passed without hearing from them, so I called again and got voicemail. I called 10 minutes later and got voicemail again. By then it was approaching 9:00, and the front desk took pity on us literally camping out in their lobby with our luggage and sleepy kids, so they asked one of their maids to clean the room, and they said they'd work out the cleaning cost with Vacasa sometime later. It took the maid over an hour to clean the filthy room. I finally did get a call back from Vacasa guest services sometime after 9:00 saying that their maid should be there in 5 or 10 minutes (after the resort maid had already started cleaning the room, so I told them not to bother), and I did get an apologetic e-mail from the local manager the next morning promising that they would waive the cleaning fee, but it doesn't change the fact that we didn't get into a clean room until at least 9:30. Not a great way to start a vacation.
