a gorgeous desert setting with friends only minutes to town! Great Italian restaurant will deliver if you want to just stay in. We also have a personal trainer ( also does Yoga) available that will come out to the ranch!
I have lived in Tucson my entire life and this is 'the best' of what Tucson has to offer. Many of the 'native Tucsonans' have commented about how cool Tucson used to be. So many areas have been spoiled by too much development and too many people. This is what 'Tucson USED to look and be like!' I have been selling Real Estate since 1989 and Always loved this property, when It came available last year, we bought it and lovingly fixed it up to its original charm. Check it out, you will be amazed! We live close by so can help with any ones questions or if you want to preview before committing.
Jim Patterson purchased this house in 2014
If you want a TRUE taste of what Tucson and the desert is about, this is it! Like stepping back into the 'old west' but with all the amenities and conveniences. Really only minutes to town (8 miles to the nearest Cost Co!).
Am making a vitual tour soon to download a link to.
Quiet, very private, gated property. Walk or hike right off the property. Hot tub, available.
Was looking forward to a long visit in Tucson and found el Adobe ranch on Vrbo. We stayed for 3 weeks and had to change from El Diamonte ( the one with murals on the wall) to Esparanza ( the smaller Casita nearest to the hot tub) because Jim had previous rented El Diamonte for our last week. We LOVED both Casitas and it worked out great to stay in the two individual Casitas enjoying different views and amenities they both had to offer! GREAT location only a few minutes to town but we could walk right off the property to hike and enjoy the quiet desert. Special treat was to see 5 deer walk down the wash more than once, while enjoying our evening wine off the front porch. Jim and yoyo could not be more helpful with our questions about nearby places we should see! Casitas are amazing and what you would expect of a much more expensive property. We had brick floors and the murals in El Diamonte, beamed ceiling, full kitchen nicely supplied. Esparanza, although smaller, had a full kitchen minus a dishwasher, polished concrete floors and ahad 100 plus year old mesquite doors into the bedroom. It was closer to the hot tub and had a small pond nearby that brought in Javalina and other wildlife. Will be back for longer next year
What a great location we stayed in El Diamonte we really like the seclusion of this property. The view from the porch was amazing we had coffee in the morning and drinks at night nothing more relaxing! The home had everything you needed and was perfect for a couple. The kitchen was well appointed, bathroom had two sinks, four poster cast iron bed, great living room oh and did I mention the most amazing beehive fireplaces. The home is only five mile off the highway and than minutes to the city, airport or Mt. Lemmon. In addition a Walmart in one direction and a Fry's supermarket (very clean nice meats) in the other way a bit north.
Jim and YoYo where excellent and followed up days before our check in. There is no way you can stay here with out a car which you would need anyway to see all the sight.
Jim thanks for the home I know we will be back
The casita was well-equipped, clean and quiet. Beautiful setting in the desert.
Up in the western foothills of Tucson we found a tranquil, clean, comfortable oasis at El Adobe Ranch. We enjoyed a private, quiet stay at the Esperanza casita, drinking our morning coffee on the porch, watching the quail running through the cactus as the sun came up.
It's a very easy ride down into the city for dinner and all the attractions to be found in Tucson.
Jim is a friendly host who arrived 5 minutes after our call for some help with the hot tub.
Our ten day stay there went by much too fast and I would give this property six stars if I could!
My husband and I have traveled extensively. This by far was our favorite vacation ever.We stayed in El Diamante and could not have been happier. Almost total seclusion. The casita was immaculate upon arrival. Living room with hand painted mural over the Kiva (fireplace) was beautifully painted by a talented artist. Couch and loveseat were very comfortable.
Kitchen offered all the amenities needed to cook in which we did for breakfast and three dinners. What a gorgeous view of the mountain range from the kitchen table. Bedroom was gorgeous, with views if you keep the curtains open, which we did at night. Nice Kiva with murals. Nicely decorated with high beam ceiling and ceiling fan which we used at night. Although it was very hot during our stay, the casita was always cool and we never needed the AC. Nights cool down nicely and we were able to light the Kiva, turn out all the lights and just enjoy the peace.
The absolute best part of this casita was the porch which we spent hours and hours reading, relaxing and looking at the mountains and saguaro cacti. We ate all of our meals, breakfast, lunches and dinners outside on the porch looking directly at the mountains.
The owner lives a few streets away so if there is a problem (we had absolutely no problems at all) he is only a phone call away.
Outside there are many hiking trails including the wash basins. We hiked many times without even leaving our property as it is set on 11 acres.
We are coming back but this time for 2 solid weeks. Thank you Jim for one of the most memorable vacations we have ever had.
We had a lovely stay at the ranch. I will have to say we were lucky to be the only residents on property at the time so we had the whole place to our selves. We saw coyotes every morning and quail. We have been coming to Tucson and renting different places for over 15 years. We loved the location of this place. La roca is perfect size for 2 people. And Jim was easy to get a hold of and communicate with. I would tecommend
We stayed at La Roca, a perfect little house for 2 people and a corgi! The house is certainly designed for warm weather (for obvious reasons), but even though we were there during Tucson's coldest weather, the heating was adequate, and we thoroughly enjoyed the kiva fireplace. The very nice caretaker, Jesus, supplied us with plenty of firewood everyday! The location is very private, close to the Saguaro National Park, with beautiful cacti all around...you feel like you are in the middle of the desert, yet Tucson and stores are not far away. The kitchen is VERY well-stocked, including things like coffee and sugar, which we did not expect. It was very easy to make nice meals on the nights we didn't eat in Tucson's excellent restaurants. I guess the only downside was the lack of cable TV, which may be a problem for some, but we really didn't mind...and with WiFi, we were able to watch Downtown Abbey on my tablet! Our dog had a ball roaming the desert, the laundry facilities were very clean and nice, the house was charming, clean, and comfortable...what else is there to say? Oh yes, Jim and Yoyo are also very friendly and we enjoyed meeting them!
Tucson mountains, abundant Saguaros, Ironwood tree's many deer, Javalina, Coyotes, Bobcats have been seen on the property. The best of what the Tucson Desert has to offer, private gated ranch with great biking and hiking in the immediate area. Saguaro National Park is less than a mile away. Only minutes (4 miles to I-10) but a lifestyle away. Would be great for small family reunions, possible weddings, private parties under the enormous Ramada with a big barbeque
