About Sam M.

Dear future guests,

Hi there my names Sam, originally from edmonton area. I bought this condo in oct of 2014 as a 25 year old who loves skiing and mountains and everything that comes with it so the decision to invest in this lifestyle was an easy one. I work in Refinery Piping Maintenance so when im not out getting covered in Alberta oil working sometimes 90hr/week I prefer getting away to the peaceful deep powder of the Rockies when ever possible. I organize and deal with lots of people regularly and love to help people so VRBO is managed flawlessly so far to date as the reviews don't lie.

Looking forward to your future bookings.

Why Sam M. chose British Columbia Rockies

Aspens 1 attracted me most because of the views and the layout is perfect for family or friends also the private deck and hottub makes it feel more comfortable and personable then most spots ive been to in the past. kicking horse is such a unique hill with tons of steep lines to choose from no 2 runs are the same with 1 lift right to the top. This condo is tastefully decorated and maintained at the highest hospitality levels in the business and is sure to please even the most demanding guests.

What makes this condo unique

Convenience to gondola, heated parking, hottub, mountain views, big screen, apple tv, ps3. No neighbours across from building.

This place has it all! You will not find better accommodations at the price point in the area. Without a doubt. Spectacular views, all the amenities, fully stocked home with all sorts of kitchen cookware, spices and the lot. Plenty of towels, games, seating, large deck, seriously couldn't ask for more. Owners were easy to deal with and were always available whenever I had to call of text. Will be booking this unit again the next time I'm in the area. Thanks again Sam for being so accommodating the entire trip. 👊

Beautiful Spot

  • 5 of 5

Kicking Horse is a breathtaking mountain! We came for a wedding on the mountaintop and it was beautiful! We went skiing and snowshoeing and visited several restaurants. Our Aspen 1 condo was perfect for our stay. It is close to the resort, easy to walk to the gondola, and the condo has everything and more than you will need.

I would love to come back in summer and will definitely recommend it to others!

Storybook stay in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great unit with a great owner and great service. If this unit is available on the dates you need, just book it. You can't do better.

Location: This is our second stay in the Aspens for skiing in February. There are basically three rows in the Aspens - our first stay was in the first row up the mountain, then there's this row, and one row below. Each row down means more of a climb up to the track down to the lift. The upper row is the most convenient, but the units are identical and it's not worth hundreds more. The lower row is less convenient than this second row, though still very walkable, but again you could actually pay more for a unit in that third row. So the location here is literally in the middle of the range. There are some newer units now even above the Aspens, haven't yet seen any of those for rent but they would be the best for ski-in, ski-out. On the other hand, if you are at the gym a few times a week and ski several times a year and are in great shape (unlike me), you won't be puffing up the hill and you're not even to notice this.

Unit: The decoration is great, very tasteful and practical. Lots of the items are higher-end, from the nice utensils and pans in the kitchen, to a great TV and nice recliners. The impression is warm, well-kept, and very comfortable. The hot tub is wonderful both in view and relaxation, and there is an on-site company that seems to come around to maintain it (and to clear the deck of snow). There were five in our party - the ideal for these two-bedroom Aspen units is four (two queen beds), but the pull-out is one of the better ones and very workable. The table is high, with four nice stools, but if there are more than four in your party using the extra stools from the counter is a bit of a squeeze (they are too high for the table). The bathroom is very warm, and even with five people towels etc. dry quickly. The in-suite laundry is basic but works fine, and the dryer is a real bonus to keep everything dried out.

Skiing: You can never predict snow (deep but kind of old for us) remember you are an hour from Lake Louise, or two hours from Revelstoke. We went west to Revelstoke for one day, and the snow there our week happened to be much better (could just as easily be other way around). Remember Revelstoke is on BC time, Golden on Alberta, so morning start not as bad.

All in all an excellent unit, a very fair price, and with a very responsive owner. Book it!

Great views, great snow, great property

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed at a number of ski condos over the last 4 years and would rate this the best. Spacious open plan lounge kitchen dining area. Everything and more in the kitchen - nice not having to use the dishwasher after every meal as there is plenty of plates, glassware etc. Views are stunning and the snow was superb

Wonderful condo.

  • 5 of 5

This condo is beautifully situated, with mountains all around. In August, wildflowers dot the hillsides. The condo was very clean, and stocked with everything we needed. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The kitchen was very nice, with high quality appliances and a full selection of cookware. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub as the sun was going down, watching the sky slowly change color. The surroundings are very scenic. The neighborhood was quiet this time of year. We appreciated the solitude in the condo, after experiencing the crowds in Lake Louise and Banff. In all, a wonderful, restful experience.

Great Stay, Beautiful Accomodations

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Aspens #1 for 3 nights while in the area for a wedding in August. The place was great, stocked with everything you needed and was kept very clean and tidy. Sam was very accommodating and great at responding immediately to any questions we had before arrival. We spent the days exploring the area, went for a hike along the Blaeberry River on "Syds Trail" up to Thompson Falls. It was great, we were the only ones along the trail that day- was a little more off the grid which we really enjoyed, roughly a 14km round trek. Was great to come back to the condo to BBQ dinner and relax in the hottub. The wedding we were attending was at the Kicking Horse Resort, so the condo was only a 5 minute walk back at the end of the night. We will definitely be staying here again and would highly recommend Aspens #1 to anyone looking to stay on Kicking Horse. Thanks Sam!!!
