Cabin in the woods

  • 3 of 5

The cabin is in beautiful, quiet area near the river. Great hiking trails within 10 minutes from your cabin door. Plus easy driving distance to Glacier Point & Yosemite Valley. It was cozy for our party of 5 plus a dog and met our needs. I definitely would stay in another Redwood's cabin but not 42. Although it met our basic needs the beds are super soft/uncomfortable (I was more comfortable sleeping on the couch). It just needs a little effort to make it great (new mattresses, curtains, carpeting). If they updated these things I would use it again.

We had an amazing adventure! The location of the cabin was wonderful, the access to the Merced river was such a perk! We enjoyed hiking along the river as well as venturing to the bridal falls. We wish we had more time to enjoy all that Yosemite had to offer. It was our first trip but it definitely won't be our last! Thank you for opening your cabin for our family and our four legged babies!

Wonderful place

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much. We came from Germany and it was a very relaxing stay for us.

We loved it and we hope we can come back soon :-) The cabin was clean and we were so happy to book not a cabin at the village. Because we would like to have some privacy and silence and we got it at this fantastic place.

Great location at a reasonable price

  • 4 of 5

We chose this particular cabin because it was right next to the river. We had easy access to walk down to the river and hang out with the kids. You can see the area from the deck of the cabin, so it's great if you want to keep an eye on what's going on down there, or if you just want to relax on the nice sized deck and listen to the river. The deck seemed much bigger in person and was a great place to hang out. The inside of the cabin was fine. It's definitely dated and the carpet and blankets clearly need to be replaced. There were spots all over the carpet and the blankets / pillows. It satisfied our needs for the trip but an upgrade on those two things would go a long way! The cabin was about 1 hr away from Yosemite Village, so it's a little bit of a drive, but not too bad since it's quite a nice drive. Chilnualna Falls is located about 1/2 mile away and that is a really nice cascade that comes down the side of the mountain over a series of rocks. It's a nice touch to the small town of Wawona. All in all, we had a great family stay and we would definitely come back.
